We've got an HTC vive in our art department. The art teacher loves it and the students have really enjoyed the experience of creating 3D imagery using Googles tilt brush and Virtual graffiti using King spray. I was hoping to get our DT department interested in the idea since they already have the AutoCAD suites and VR is supported. I use the google SMTP for everything. Not had any issues. What you do need to do though, in your admin console is whitelist your public IP address to use smtp-re Apps > Workspace > Settings for Gmail > Routing > SMTP relay service, add a rule with your public IP's. If you've got multiple IPs you'll have to enter them in the CIDR format

Few things to consider here... Restricting access to C kills the ondrive client from working correctly, but restricting access to C is one of the things you should be doing. The onedrive sync folder cannot be kept on a network drive/share. Big pain in the rear. Quick access cannot be redirected by GPO. You've got two options, provide guidance for users on how to change the path for the quick access pin or disable it with a reg key.

Totally depends on your requirements, how much bandwidth do you have if you go cloud? I've got SAN, NAS and cloud. All with their own purposes VM's/Home folders - SAN On prem backups and art department storage - NAS Day to day stuff - G-Suite/Adobe Cloud/o365

Agreed on the setup! But it really does tick all the boxes and more, tracking costs/depreciation, support contacts, warranty periods. We check out the fixed assets to rooms, portables to individuals and have the bookable equipment too. I had our apprentice go through it all and put photos of each model device we own, complete all the supplier information including adding their logos. It looks so slick when fully populated and needs almost no maintenance

So we migrated to a hosted voice system 3 or 4 years ago and did exactly what you're doing. With the amount of office moves and techs being rushed off their feet, half of the phones are not on the VOIP VLAN anymore ¬_¬

We use Snipe-It https://snipeitapp.com/product It's got this function where you can mark and asset as bookable, user logs in, adds the items to a "cart" and IT get a notification that person X wants a list of equipment. IT then get the equipment ready for collection. Lot like click and collect. Assets are marked as checked out to that person and when they return them to IT, they are checked back in. User gets email receipt of requesting, items checked out and items checked back in. Pretty neat solution to be fair

As everyone else has said, do the verifications and setup the MX records on the new domain name providers DNS bit and you're good to go

It writes back to switches too so can manage VLANs/port security/Names/IP's etc etc And it gives a good dashboard to have open on the screen so when people walk into the IT office they get to see nerdy stats. I do use solarwinds too, but that's another story
