We've just set the ball in motion to move to Access-It. We got a decent deal and it will end up cheaper after year 2 by a few hundred quid. The interface looks nicer in the demo we got. Leaving Microlib seems easy enough, they even have a box on the termination contract for you to get a copy of your data.

Hi, We are in the process of forcing bitlocker for all USB devices but we have some usb pens with Workshark on them which is causing us issues. We decided to remove the option to bitlocker in the LSU unit so kids arent tempted to encrypt the sticks but when they are read only they dont allow you to write to the shark-shared drive. Having autounlock defeats the object of USB safety, so am trying to work out a solution. Anyone else looked at this or had a similar issue. I may have to create an account just for the USBs and have it autounlock but not give access to anything else.

Hi, I'm updating some of our policies and have been given some info from the bursars assoc with a list of policies and am struggling with a few. Policy and procedures for Data Processors,Policy and procedures for Data Controllers and a data sharing policy. I can't find a decent template for these.. our data saring one is ok but it needs updating.. Can anyone help, share, point me in the direction for a decent template for these please. Muchos Gratias

Writing Policies (better known as scouring the internet and altering them to suit us)

What I do, and is probably wrong, is use WDS to just install the base image and I only have to input the PC name at the prompt. By the time I've reinstalled the SSD its logged into a local admin account and is ready for deploying everything else. PDQ deploy is my fave tool, I push out the latest CU, then deploy all the software and AV and then leave them overnight doing the Window updates. I'm sure theres quicker ways but this is pretty automated.

I saw this yesterday (its from January but wanted to revisit it) The Microsoft Platform: HTML5 client for Microsoft Remote Desktop Services 2016: Remote Desktop Web Client Looks rather good and would remove our 3rd party RD tool saving us ££££. Linking it to Azure App proxy and MFA would be ideal for us (currently have this setup for a couple of remote desktops)

Morning. I think I know the answer to this but thoguth I would ask. We had a professional video made a couple of years back which featured alot of our pupils and some have left... we are renewing the photo consent over the summer and will have a look at any of the pupils who arent in school and look at getting consent to still use them on the video. If we cannot contact student in the video or they dont come back to me.. I take it we shouldnt use it.

We have a mixed Exchange and Google setup.. all the kids are on Google.

What we did on our on-premises Exchnage box was. Changed the default setting in mobile device access to Quarantined... so anyone connecting via Activesync needs to be approved (Love this) Changed the mobile device mailbox policy to lock afer 1 minute (may change as its short) and Encryption and pin lock Setup Azure app proxy so I can use MFA via the Azure apps portal. Rewitten the staff AUP policy to include new security features and their responsibility when using emails (amongst thousands of other things) I wanted to close off 443 and use the app proxy for activesync but can't. That would have made me lovely and snug

Suppose I'm looking at it from SAR. If we archive emails that data is still held in school so is still accessible via a SAR request??

Have you got round the auto logon issue or are you still asking users to log onto File Stream when it pops up?

Hi, We are looking at tightening up our retention policy for staff emails. Have you all got it as part of the school retention policy? Ours is set a bit long and especially with SAR stuff I want to shrink it down.. some staff have lots of folders setup to file email communications (bursar, DPO, etc) The GDPR course I went on suggested 3 months.

Had a rethink and back tracked. We've setup the lovely mobile device mailbox policy via exchange and enabled MFA for OWA. Reckon thats good enough.

Hi, I think I've got this working to a fashion but just curious how everyone else works with this? I must be missing something as I sill have to input the username to logon.. the apps portal is a bit cluttered so for testing I'm just using the office logon and then going down to the Google enterprise app i configured and it lets me in. How have you configured the initial webpage to open? Shame Google File stream doesn't use this but auto logging into Google will help (especially when opening google docs from the stream folder) Thanks in advance.
