Classroom Manager... I got that wrong, there is no minimum spec for minis. I have a receipt from the Apple Store, I bought it via business sales and my customer ID is right but they arent showing up.

I forgot how much I hate them, 10 emails, 7 phone calls and no one can give me a direct answer as to why they aren't showing on my console. Found out eventually why, they are too old.

Hi, Can someone please clarify somethings for me. I recently moved to Apple.School.com but have never used my old DEP in anger. I dont have a mac to stick my ipads in supervised mode so will I be able to use school.com instead? I'm giving Zuludesk a try, I've setup the school to Zulu link. Just confusing how I get the devices in the consoles....I've read loads Thanks for the help.

I have sent an email asking to be migrated to Apple School so I'm not sure if number 2 relates to that or is a follow on from number 1. When i log into VPP it just gives me a list of the admins in school. No upgrade option or anything.

I take it all these need the devices to be managed to fully use the features? I dont have a Mac in school so have just used Meraki to partially manage them. DEP isnt available but have signed up for Apple School Manager.

Anyone know the pricing for Meraki? Only need it for 25 ipads.

Hi, I have been using Meraki MDM with a few ipads but stupidly allowed staff to use their own icloud account. A staff member left and it stuck on Activation Lock after I tried recovery mode. Is it right I can go to a Apple store with proof of purchase and they will help? I've seen stuff about using software to fool the DNS so it unlocks on a dodgy site but don't trust them.... havent read up enough about jailbreaking to look into that either. My fault entirely...just stuck. Simon

@AMLinington A very passionate response of SW. I've been a user for 15 years (ish) so I obviously like it but reporting has been promised a overhaul for longer than I remember... and the safeguarding logs are nowhere near what was shown to me in leeds 12 months ago. If they came out and said our reporting wouldnt improve due to the brilliant filtering. fine... I'll be doing a pro/con evaluation of all the products I look at.. as well as my time learning a new product if I move.

Is the Sophos a all in one product like SW? Firewall and filtering in one appliance?

Hi, Its getting to that time of year again when i get pee'd off with SW and start looking at other vendors. I've never looked in anger really as SW just works but the continuing annoyances with the safeguarding logs and the abysmal reporting has briung it to a head. We are a small school, I have a S8 applicance with around 500 users. Things I like about SW It just works Its fast Its filtering is excellent BYOD is working (on Glamis anyway, Inverness breaks it) Chomebooks auth works well The firewall is rock solid Things I hate Awful reporting over complicated in some areas Slow on new developments Did I say awful reporting Obviously we invested in a S8 box which i like but the Sophos stuff looks really interesting and if the SW quote is ridiculous I might want to jump ship. Anyone moved from SW to Sophos.. I still have a bad taste mentioning Sophos from 15 years ago using their resource hogging AV

Strangley I worked it out by removing some security groups from them and they appeared. I had a group to access the helpdesk which seemed to be the culprit. Theres no reason for it, the group didnt have any policies to it just permission to access the helpdesk site. I'll put down to one of those things

I have a couple of users who have missing devices and drives and network locations in the My PC section. (the whole section s are missing) I can’t work out why. There aren’t any specific policies just for them or permissions and when I do a GP results it says Do Not Hide and Drives. The drives are there.. I can type the drive letter in explorer and it comes up and I can add a network location manually. The only thing on it is Pegasus XRL that’s unique to these but that’s just a plugin. I’ve reinstalled a fresh W10 and the user is having the same issue. Any suggestions. PS. I even added them to the domain admin group to see, no dice.
