I've just experienced the same thing, frshly installed PC which i rolled out kb3194798-x64 to hoping it had everything included and when I looked its hanging installing 936. Its only 10Mb so deployed that and its happily installing all the Office updates. I'm tempted to slipstream 798 into my WDS image if I can get my head round it. I did it 100 years ago but haven' with W10 yet... as well as creating an answer file

Mine doesnt like Cumultivie updates at all. I am on 223 and its hanging with the update from yesterday. Its actually hanging when I ran 'check online' so I think its beyond a WSUS isssue. Its only those that hang, the rest of the updates flies through.

Brilliant, W10 Aniversary works fine but LTSB needs me to update.... I'll just check the microsoft update site as it must be straightforward... oh wait.

I tested 2 new computers and its a nightmare. WU hangs installing 356 and refuses to stop the WU service. I cant install anything on it.

Damn, I asked for the Windows 10 LTSB key which they sent out thinking that would be enough. I take it that I just need to ask fro the Server 2016 KMS key

Weird issue 498 in Windows 10 - I have a use who doesn't get anything displayed when she clicks on MY PC. No mapped drives, no local drives (I've used the reg key to hide the folders but have tried it with them shown too) If you open explorer and type c:\ or any of the mapped drives it finds them. They arent listed on the left either, i have clicked around for ages but cant find anything. This actually happened on Windows 7 which is why I went to W10 but its followed her... so its a policy issue except there isnt one that i can see that affects her as she sint the only one in the OU using the policy. I've even moved her to a different OU, removed her group membership and still nothing in there. I copied her account and tried that.. same thing.. just weird. It cant be the PC, its been wiped It cant be polices, i've tested without applying them It cant be profiles, she has a new one Baffling me I ran RSOP and nothing jumps out, I went in and made show the show locl drives was set to show all drives too but thats not fixed it.

In PDQ Inventory its the same as EDU. 10.0.14393 I forced the install on my work PC and it took it up to 10.0.14393.223 I love PDQ, its easier to see which computer has the latest updates.

So a newly installed LTSB PC is hanging at 45% installing KB3197356. I'm going to have to go round and double check all my settings in GP.

So many cummulative updates to keep track of. The majority of my site has 496 on, I've just approved 356 on my WSUS so will have a look when its downloaded. We have 2 weeks off at October half term so I'm seriously thinking of going down the LTSB route and starting again with a fresh image

RMA'd it. I used to hold my breateh rebooting servers back in the day... now its these stupid things.

First one went perfectly, second one hung after clicking the 'use express settings' button for ages. Really weird, black screen with mouse (like its on extended monitor view)...then it rebooted and looped with the express settings screen over and over again. I removed the graphics card and left it on the black screen and went home....managed to remote in ok but not sure how long its taken to complete. Funny thing is when I remoted in the computer was at the select active directory or azure selection screen, didn't know you could do that. (it was deployed using WDS) PS. I deployed 150 W10 using EDU.... tempted to wipe them out and stick this on if I can work out the answer files in WDS.

I've installed it on one PC, maybe its just my imagination but it seems alot quicker that EDU. LTSB with classic shell is rather nice (touch wood).... wait a minute... its just W7

Hi, Anyone seen this. All I did is install a new Real workd cert to my box, it wanted me to reboot which I did and now the status light is off and I cant ping it. I've attached a serial cable and the box is booting up but i am getting loads of these messages rolling through watchdog_task: 210 seconds since last rsmd update Luckily I have redundancy setup so its still running.

Its a mare of a building, when I drilled the ceiling mounts for the projectors I burned out a couple of bits as the ceiling and walls are like granite... I think it was built as a nuclear bunker. I'm going to swap one of the APs out and see if that helps tomorrow first thing. I've always hated wireless even though I've worked in IT for 15 year

Not meshed, only vlanned for BYOD the rest is flat and everyhting is set to Auto. I have tried forcing a channel but it didnt help

Hi, I'm having issues in our science blockat the moment (actually for ages) which i thought I had a breakthru with last week but hit another snag. We have 20 laptops, 10 Thinkpads and 10 Stone ones. When i use PDQ deploy some of the throughput was in the kb/s range... whereas the one next to it was a couple of MB/s. No rhymne or reason why, they are identical. Anyway last week I decided to play with the Stone ones and forced 5ghz and voila.. I was getting over 10 for each machine and when I used LANspeedtest it was over 80Mb sec... Unfortunately the Thinkpads were 2.4Ghz only so I thought I'd buy some mini WIFI Usb adapters, glue them in and stick them all on 5ghz. For some reason the first one didnt work until I messed around with the Channels and it started working... got another one to test and again, did a bit of fiddling and it worked. So today I went over and did a couple more.. and they all stopped working. First they wouldnt connect at all until I went into the settings bit of W10 and did the WIFI from there... but they reported as having no internet connection. I disabled the WIFI, walked to a different room where I knew the other WIFI AP would pick it up and it connected instantly... thought the AP was the issue so I rebooted it... then the other one stopped working. I've tested all the settings I can, roaming, preferred channel, disabled the power saving options but nothing got it working.... so took one laptop back to my office where there is an identical WIFI AP and it worked 100% without me changing anything. They are Ruckus 7363 and identically setup, its connected on 108 in my office.. I think it was lower in Science but cant rememeber. Anyone got some tips? I have a box full of Cisco 1131AG APs but dont want to stick them on my network as the Ruckus BYOD is working lovely.

Actually I was looking in the wrong place, I already had the bypass setting enabled. Pushing it via PDQ deploy to a room of computers to see how it works.

Both these were installed on my work desktop, I've got it installed eventually but WU hung like crazy and is hanging at 45% on other machines in school. 496 is on my WSUS too. I havent got the GP for delivery optimization so need to look into that, the ADMX is in their though. My version is now 10.0.14393.222

This update (like other big ones ) is hanging at 45%, really hope it fixes the WU issues. I dont want to have to push out catalog files like I had to with 936

I gave up and used a batch file... along with a startup script to map the drives dating back to Windows XP .. at least its 100% reliable

Had it disabled for years with W7, I used a locked down GP with software restrictions, bitlocker, decent AV settings But I ignore most best practises.
