Hi, Just finished watching a demo of GDPR in Schools, looks quite good and hopefully will do all the work for us (joking). The thing it missed out was the internal audit function that I noticed on the tabs. Thats an interesting one for us. Oh and the price I wonder if its GDPR compliant itself..

Looking at the PDQ deploy script all they ahve done is add the --silent switch... rolls out fine for us.

Hi, I'm trying to force Bitlocker just for staff USB devices but am struggling with the policy, can anyone else done this? I can get Bitlocker to work as I want but its a whole computer policy.

Tried on a different client without ABTutor. Just so I am not being simples... I've created a policy to enable the App identity service and one with the rules on it all linkied the the computers OU.. sound right? Its almost like the computer is starting the APPLOCKER service before any rules are enabled and it wont refresh them as they are blocked. Might try sticking a local policy on with the defautl rules and testing.

Yep, when its set to audit I can see its blocking loads even withthe default rules in place. %SYSTEM32%\NET1.EXE was allowed to run but would have been prevented from running if the AppLocker policy were enforced. %PROGRAMFILES%\REALTEK\AUDIO\HDA\RAVBG64.EXE was allowed to run but would have been prevented from running if the AppLocker policy were enforced. When I enforce the rule I cant log on %SYSTEM32%\DWM.EXE was prevented from running.

Morning. For some reason when I enable applocker on some particular computers I can't get to the logon screen. I only had it set for audit initially and it did it once on bootup but a hard reboot solved it. Now I've enable just the exe rule as enforce and its spins around then goes to a black screen and flashes for a second over and over again. Can someone post what their rules look like so I can compare. I was hoping the default rules would let me log on but as soon as they are enabled my computers die. PS. Its DWN.exe that its saying is blocked. I've tried allowing this with a path and hash rule but its still not working.. or maybe the policy isnt refreshing as I am locked out. I can still get to the event logs on the remote comptuers.

I must have spent £100k with them over the years... they have a really good refurb/open box section. Went downhill when their customer services moved overseas and the telephone service sounded like it was recorded in a bathroom.

Hi, This has happened on quite a few machines but haven't found a solution, its just happened to my work PC now and all I've found is to reinstall so hope someone might have seen this before. The Applocker service is not running but sometimes the apps on my systems just stop working. The start menu fails and the settings, if I click on the desktop to edit the display it shows 'the file doesn't have an association' error. I've tried using a different account, unjoining the domain, creating a blank applocker policy and refreshing but as soon as I enable the service I cannot use anything on my PC.. everything is blocked. I can't even gpupdate to refresh the policy. When I look at the policy it shows nothing (even tried adding the default ones.. and adding my local admin in the wildcard section) but nothing worked. I changed the Applocker service to auto and rebooted hoping the policy would refresh and sort itself out but it locked me out and wouldn't log on.. had to edit the registry in the startup to disable the service again. Its happened to about 20 machines and its not an issue for the end users as they use IE but for me I cant even look at the updates needed. Anyone seen this? I'm back on my PC but its a bit limited.

Sorry I meant 039, I tried the WSUS method but it didn't work for me. it didn't uninstall and even when I manually uninstalled it the update reinstalled when I checked for updates.

Evening, Trying to find a working solution. I've deployed 4011038 and its causing major issues. I'm trying to work out how to uninstall it remotely. The WSUS uninstall option doesn't seem to work, psexec and WUSA isn't helping either. I think as its a non OS update I cant use WUSA (????) Anyone got a working script? Oh and I tried Powershell too.
