Hi I am wanting to start getting staff to use the portals in spiceworks. At the moment when they go to it, it asks them to login with their network details which they do and then they have to enter them again with their email address. Is there a way to stop this? So in school they just go to the page and they are logged in automatically? and at home just enter their username and password once? I have it linked to AD. Thanks

Hi We have our shutdowns set up by rooms, so that if a particular room is being used late one evening then we can just disable that shutdown schedule. The startup is all in one go with about 400 desktops. One trick we learnt was try change the time by one minute when it stops working. e.g. 7:30am to 7:31am.

Solved it. For some reason I had to change the hdd from ahci to IDE and all working ok. Thanks.

It's using pe vista. have tried adding extra usb drivers for usb 3 to the build disk but the M72 only has USB 2 with it.

The keyboard seems to loose connection after a certain USB driver is installed at the start of the CC4 build process "cougsmb.inf". Anyone know how to remove this driver from the build disk? Thanks

We have updated the bios and tried disabling legacy USB support but still no luck.

Hi We are having an issue where we have 82 lenovo m72e tiny desktops and when trying to pxe boot them to the CC4 network it lets us hit F12 to load PXE boot but then the keyboard and mouse loose connection so we cannot enter our login credentials to select the build options. Anyone know what could be causing this? There is no PS2 port on them and have tried different keyboards. Running out of time as usual Cheers

Thanks for that. Hadn't thought of it that way. We are only able to appeal in October and I think it is just after we will be going academy so would be close. Does anyone have any examples of letters they have written for such a change? Or even just a patties letter I could look at to get some ideas? Cheers

Hi guys Just wondering what people do over the summer to maintain / refresh your CC4 networks. I have seen some people rebuild all their desktops onto the network again. And some run a script of sorts to remove local user profiles that build up. Are there advantages of one way over the other? For the script to delete local profiles how do people do it? Does anyone have a copy of it? Any other jobs cc4 admins do to ensure your cc4 network is running well? Cheers

There is no NM at the moment just me (senior tech) and three other techs (1 does 2 jobs in the school so only half under my direction). We are a LEA secondary but converting to academy. Yes I do all of those types of jobs and recently also taken over VLE, email and wireless management, on top of other duties.

Hi I am working at a secondary school as a senior technician and have taken on a number of roles and responsibilities which I believe now puts the role more in line with a network manager role. Has anyone ever written a letter requesting a change of job title to network manager and a pay rise? If so any tips on wording or what to say? I would be putting it in for our annual pay appeals. Hi Nick, Thanks for the info. Points 1 and 3 sorted. Struggling to get point 2 to automatically change for some reason when i changed the code it now just says lilac week every week :S ("This week is " + data[1] == 1 ? "Gold Week" : "Lilac Week"); Also having an issue where i set the rooms to enabled then save it. When i go back into them they say disabled again so not all the rooms show us as bookable. The names show up but not the period to click on for them to be booked :S

Hi 1. I am setting up HAP and have noticed that in the booking system the last period stretches the screen over to the right so to see the whole period you have to scroll the screen over. Is there any way to avoid this? 2. Also can you change at the top left where it says 'week 1' or week 2' to something different like 'blue week' and 'red week'? 3. Is it possible to set it up so all the classrooms appear on one screen and Laptops on another screen. Just looks quite daunting with all our rooms and laptop trolleys in one go. Cheers

Hi you have to use a credit card or their service that is similar to PayPal (name escapes me). But either way has to use a credit card. In America the have VPP gift cards in multiples of $100 but this isn't available in the UK yet but may be changing later this year according to an apple rep I spoke to as they had found this a major stumbling block in the uk.

Hi We are starting to use spiceworks as our network inventory. I was wondering if anyone has found a way of exporting the information spiceworks gets on the network scans to something like a csv file. This would then allow me to bulk add device costs quickly in excel and then re-import it to spiceworks. Is there a way to do this? Just need to easily add the extra information we want each device to have. I also need to import new devices via csv or something so for a batch of 50 new monitors i could just import a csv? Any help would be great thanks

The problem is they need to see their option choices before the answer some of the questions. I will have a look at your suggestion about pre-injecting some responses.

Does anyone know of a free system or a method of achieving the below aims? • sixth form students log onto a site and can see their choices they have made for sixth form courses. (The login can just be their enrolment ID number and the data • they can answer a few questions e.g. Did you get your expected results?, did you get a grade C or above in English. Possibly taking them to different pages based on their answers. • all the information is logged so a summary print out can be made. Any suggestions would be great thanks.
