  1. closer to £200 actually - https://www.networkwebcams.co.uk/product_info.php?cPath=35&products_id=3797 And it’s not all about money in the real world… And not American conspiracy as referenced above.
  2. It requires a whole new way of thinking. Exams in Australia are taken on personal BYO 1:1 devices. But the conditions are the same. They aren’t closed book exams like most of the ones in the UK.
  3. I have just finished watching Manifest. The show dragged on a little bit they did the ending well. Can anyone recommend any 20 minute TV shows please? Looking for something to watch when we have some spare time but big enough for a 45 min show.
  4. Axis are one of the biggest CCTV players on the market. They are based in Sweden.
  5. Not sure on the legal side but I have 2 personal issues with this. 1. They have applied but are not yet enrolled. So they might not actually need this data? It seems like sharing data unnecessarily. 2. Shouldn’t the student be consenting to this data to be shared? They are young adults and certainly will be of age ok sixth form. I wouldn’t be too happy about someone sharing my data without consent.
  6. First time I have seen something like this. I’m interested to know how this issue isn’t specific to a geographic area? For example the issue impacts Cheshire policy but not the neighbouring Greater Manchester Police, but it does impact London?
  7. Yes. The product keys are interchangeable and are not specific to 32 or 64 bit.
  8. The SPF is the way to go. But it does come with risk. This third party could act on your behalf. Also their messages are sent without going through any filters, if it is misused your domain reputation is at risk.
  9. There is a last login time stamp for computers. But this doesn’t update frequently, every 14 days or so. I just make an allowance for this with my automated scripting.
  10. I have made a script that automatically sends an email when computers haven’t been used in x amount of days and sends the data in an email. I can share if you like?
  11. I am half guessing as it’s been 5 years since I have managed Chromebook’s but could you do it using certificates? If they are pushed via the management console all existing devices will receive it. New devices could be enrolled via Ethernet and receive the certificate?
  12. You can using a temporary access pass. https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/active-directory/authentication/howto-authentication-temporary-access-pass
  13. Why are you separating staff and student devices? You have a limited space to work with an merging them will add some flexibility.
  14. I wouldn’t be using a password. 802.1X is far better suited for anything larger than small business.
  15. I agree with that statement. Have a completely seperate line with another carrier and setup BGP so all you public IP addresses move if it fails over.
  16. For those who are separating the hikvision CCTV equipment in a seperate VLAN, how are you virulent the footage? Using software on a PC in the main LAN that has the internet? Also shared with data, emails etc. That’s a risk in itself. I work in a regulated environment. We have dedicated CCTV workstations for viewing footage and they don’t have internet or access to any other resources either.
  17. I have literally been a member of this site half my life!
  18. This should go through a VPN anyway, regardless of the above.
  19. I came here to say the same thing! I am deploying my 4th HCI setup. Well worth considering.
  20. There are lots of people on Reddit commenting on issues with Intune so I assume there is an outage or something.
  21. I agree with the above. Is the website under contract? If so what does it say in relation to this? If it’s not under any support contract you can’t expect them to fix it for free.
  22. The best network design is not have broadcast on your uplinks. So your setup of VLANS not spanning multiple buildings is good. In practise it can be a pain and I very rarely see it in use. I generally only see it localised to each site.

    WiFi

The client device can also be a factor. Just to name a few. The quality of the hardware Antenna placement Material device is made from Drivers I generally find cheap consumer laptops do get flower speeds. But this varies.
  24. That’s the one!
