Hello, I am currently testing out Auto Pilot and I am wondering how you go about installing new installs of Windows. For example you might want to do it in the following circumstances: Replacement of a failed SSD Clean installation for when a devices is re-assigned Upgrading from Windows 10 I could use a USB drives, but it could be a pain when updating to new builds, managing drivers (such as network card so Auto Pilot can function). Maybe a small instance of MDT just to get a clean version of Windows on a device? How do you do it? Thanks

It’s not advised to snapshot 2012 R2 domain controllers. It isn’t supported. Personally I would build a second DC, run it side by side with your existing DC, migrate the roles and decommission the old. It’s more controlled and less risky. I would go right to 2022. You can’t increase the first function level beyond 2016, but you will get extra support lifecycle. Also get cracking. There is hardly any time left on server 2012.

It will be most likely the permissions on the file. I believe they need modify rights for it to work properly.

I addition it's better to hold the data on a live system. It ensures the data is removed (assuming automatically) at the correct intervals, well maintained so it is secure and accessible.

Can you configure it to use Azure Authentication and then force MFA on Azure? I don’t know the product specifically so this is just an idea.

Having manage both I can't see how this is to be honest. HCI is much easier to manage and has worked out much cheaper. Plus you remove a single point of failure - the SAN. I get it if you're only replacing 1 component but if you're replacing SAN and servers it totally makes sense. Much more reliable than HP Management tools are superior and more reliable HP iLO has a recurring license. Dell iDrac is an up front cost Technical support is better with Dell, more streamlined an user friendly. Better train technicians

We have both and removing all HP for Dell. It’s a better product and a better service. We are also removing all our SANs for hyper converged. Is this something you have considered?

This is no different from any other profession. People should not be thrown in the deep end from day one. I work in a high security, critical infrastructure setting that also can be dangerous if I don’t follow WHS rules. My first weeks of employment involved training, inductions etc. Whilst I did find it frustrating, it is absolutely necessary. Teachers should have the equivalent and be paid for that time, meaning it should be after their contract commenced.

Windows 7, Server 2008 & 2008 R2 went end of life. Cyber security is now much more of a priority but Edugeek, and IT specialist forum still doesn't support HTTPS. Something that was basic 10 years ago. It's a little embarrassing considering we are all supposed to be IT professionals.
