I've created two msi for italc, all you have to do is copy the keys over before taking the second snapshot.

This works great, how difficult would it be to use a system like this to block facebook if the page contains certain words. For example I would like to allow facebook completely but have a block page appear if the page contains certain words.

to be able to give accurate advice you should upload a floor plan of where the classrooms are. Try to make sure any new laptops you order support a/g/n and they must support using N on 5GHZ. The best advice anyone could give you is even if you do purchase a managed solution is try to get classrooms sets of laptops to use the 5GHZ range. I think if your starting from scratch then a Ruckus system would be best, if moneys tight you could buy the older g APs then move them to the less used areas of the school in April

if there the old p28 laptops then I'm sure that they have older intel cards, the latest driver from the intel site solves quite a few problems.

we had a problem with some samsung P30 laptops, some intel cards in older samsung laptops do not support AES unless you download the latest intel drivers. if your APs are set to use AES then I would make sure your wireless cards support this.

I prefer using email as I can send one off then just wait for a reply without hanging about on the phone. If a company offeres to communicate via email or web based form, then you would expect a reasonable response time if you use it. Having people turn around and say that you should have phoned is a bit silly, why offer a service if you do not have theman/brain power to operate it to the same standards as other parts of your business.

well it seems thats he responds quickly to most requests but when your looking to build a relationship with a company you expect them to atleast respond to emails and private messages. I did not moan before but I felt that I had to support the original thread starter who has aired his complaint on a forum designed for such things and has recieved stick and abuse for doing what he is entitled to do. The fact is about over three people on this thread have complained over the same issue and everyone else comes on here saying positive things hoping to get something for free. You have to judge a company by how they treat you not how they treat someone else who is probably recieving freebies.

Sorry guys, I also had a negative experience from Simon, I emailed him for a ruckus quote and recieved no reply, I then send him a PM through this site and no reply. I purchased my ruckus from Net-Ctrl, perfect customer service from the start, quick replies to emails and even phoning to check how it was working.

I am trying to migrate my network guardian to a new server, its a vmware 3.5 the free one. Its installed no problems but when I reboot the smoothie the time and date gets reset. any one have any ideas. please

I use italc with very few problems for just under two years now, but it was tricky to setup at first. The best way is to install the master on a teachers/sysadmin computer, use a local profile and make sure roaming profiles are disabled on this computer. On the your computer first install the italc client, this should install and register the italc service, now reinstall italc and tell it to install both the client and master parts, tell it to create new keys. you should now be able to open italc on your pc, now go to the italc folder inside program files, inside the italc folder is a folder called keys, copy folder keys to a nework location for future use. now go to a client pc, you will now create a msi to deploy the italc client with the right keys. create the msi in your usual way but before doing the second scan copy the Keys folder that was taken from the master machine into the clients machine. deploy the msi to 2-3 machines, add them in your master pc and it works fine.

what switches are the ruckus points going into, some netgear poe switches need the latest firmware to support roaming clients. try and do a network repair on when of the laptops it should renew its ip address if the repair fails then reboot the switches and try the repair again if it works then its the switches that are causing the issue

we recently purchased some Ruckus kit from Aggy at Net Ctrl and we are very happy with it. We had a problem in one corridor of the school that even with 3 wg302 points in them would not maintain a good wireless connection. We replaced the 3 wg302 with two 2942 ruckus points and everything in that area now works fine. I can't wait untill we can do the English corridor as well

we have the same problem, if a user trys to access youtube thats blocked, after typing in the bypass details they do not get redirected to the youtube page.

Italc works fine for me using computer names as well, try puting your italc master computer patched straight into the core vlan, make sure the PC with the master controller is on the same vlan as the servers. Italc uses netbios to resolve usernames, use nbtstat to check wether it works properly and the messenger service must be started to enable usernames to showup on clients.

we use RDP to provide remote access from home, once connected to the school 2008 TS server I can use either italc or RDP to access other machines within the school.
