    OnePlus 3

I have a one plus 6 , slightly different to 6T but it is fantastic, cost me 40% of what a Note9 with the same cpu and ram would have cost, the amoled screen is made by samsung anyway but is not same resolution as Note9 but still very good.

  3. Hi All we have Cisco 10GB Sg500 network, it has been working fine for 4 years + , no big issues, Recently and this has happened 3 times since September, we have come in to find that DHCP is not forwarding through the core switch, it is quickly fixed with a reboot of the core switch. As explained it worked fine for 4 years +, so am guessing it must be a recent change Could this be caused by another switch trying to advertise as root , we also recently had a dark fibre connection put in, could this be causing it any help would be nice

  11. have you thought of using Cisco small business, we use sg500x switches here with cheap chinese 10GB modules, 10GB fibre and much cheaper than HP. The price difference was massive in SEA not sure it the price difference is the same in the UK
  12. so many different successful ways of doing this but this how we do ours 5 ssids but only 4 deployed on each ap group and 3 of the ssid are non broadcasting. ssid = sta-teacher is a 5ghz ac device ssid, with qos limiting each laptop to max speed of 5MB, this used for 6thform laptops and BYOD devices that IT have allowed on this ssid. ssid = sta-apple is 5ghz ac apple only devices, qos limiting 2mb, with a acl restriction to prevent access to school resources other than internet. this ssid only allows approved mac address. ssid = KS2 or KS1 or HS, these are 5ghz ac only and are on a ap group depending on the area of the school, qos is max speed of 25MB ssid = byod is a 2.4ghz using a captive portal with qos limiting it to 1mb we use around 300 curriculum laptops and 140 6thform laptops and 130 Ipads and very rarely have issues but we are strict about the quality of devices we allow onto the 5GHZ radios.
  13. Try Untangle https://www.untangle.com/shop/public-sector-complete works out at 720 GDP per year for 150 devices, includes live support.
  14. Hi Guys Does anyone have any advice on how to do this I have a Cisco managed wireless network Controller is 2500 series, software version is 8.1.111.0 I have a mixture of access points some of them are AN and some AC, all dual band Ac = AIR-CAP2702I-E-K9 AN = AIR-CAP2602I-E-K9 I have a ssid called sta-teacher, I need this on every access point on the 5GHZ radio, but I want the ac points to only accept ac clients but still allow the AN access points to accept any clients. There is a option on the console to disable AN but this is for every 5GHZ radio on the controller. Is there a way of over ruling this on the access points , maybe via command line
  15. We use the cheaper Cisco Sg500x 10G fibre cheap Chinese modules, 20 pounds each It was way cheaper than a HP quote for the same spec of kit. I would not put anything other than Cisco or HP into your school.
  16. switching is fine Its the correct speed that I would expect. Its important to do real world tests with wireless points, this means testing the speed by copying large files and letting the speed settle. I always divide by 3 , 11g is real world speed is around 18-19, only if you do real tests do you find this out. I am quite happy with 11ac tests just do not believe marketing hype with wireless products.
  17. Untangle is a great product, does everything Smoothwall can do, https://www.untangle.com/shop/nonprofit-complete
  18. I have tested a cisco 11ac ap with our managed cisco wireless. Using dell 3340 laptops With one laptop connected and copying over a folder with large iso files, the average speed was 30MB So it seems just like with the old wireless standards, you need to divide by 3 to get the real speed. When we had 24 laptops all connected and copying the same folder, they copied over at around 5mb so we lost some speed to overheads on the ap. Still a big improvement.
  19. do you have any macs that have not been patched since Jan

    DHCP issues

Thanks mate worked a treat, We are getting rid of the netgears this month now, Brand new cisco 10gb here we come..
  21. Ok guys Have a strange issue with netgear vlans and DHCP, DHCP on the vlan with the dhcp server works fine for both startup and IPconfig /renew, all clients can get a ip and also renew it fine on the default vlan. DHCp works fine on all the vlans when a client boots up, if we disable the nic and reable it works fine. The issues is when clients on remote vlans try to ipconfig /renew and request a new ip. This fails. Can anyone help ? Jose
  22. Hi Guys, could do with some advise here, I have 3 VPS servers that are hosted in the UK, I have enabled them to act as private vpns, so I can access gambling sites with UK ip address. I have now moved to a different condo block and the internet firewall blocks most ports other than 8080. The firewall is pfsense. I am led to believe that openvpn can be configured to use 8080 ?. does anyone know of any software that I can use to enable me to access these servers and surf the net with them, its very important that all traffic goes to the vps server.
  23. Working in Bangkok is totally different to just being a tourist, I lived in Hua Hin for over a year before coming to BKK to find work. Its a great place to live but it has many temptations can result in late nights. You should really has some savings built up at home and ideally a 2nd income from working online before coming out here, Thailands only a great place if you have cash to spend.
  24. Hi , the OP has about South East Asian countries, Vikpaw is in the Middle East, Countries like Thailand have very strict Work permit rules, yes theres always ways around them but you need a employer to want to fight your corner. Every red blooded male in the west would like to work in BKK, Despite it being hard, I would advise the following. 1. Check jobsdb Thailand 4-5 times per day 2. Check thaivisa forum for jobs 3. Check Bahtsold for jobs 4. Get yourself out here, being able to interview the same afternoon if need be can help. 5. Don't overprice yourself, a Englishman is better than a Filipino/indian but if they work for half the price..... Always try to get your CV to a Foreigner in the company school, I only got my current job as I sent my cv to the Head of ICT after the schools HR man had not shortlisted me. - - - Updated - - -
  25. Hi Mate, I work for a international school in BKK, other than BKK you will struggle to get work in other countries as the locals are very good at IT, Thailand is different, the Thais just dont get IT, they cannot grasp the concept that you have to work hard to get results. Most employers out here will not consider you unless you have lived here for a bit. when you do get a job its because the previous 4-5 IT people have failed and they now want a foreigner to do it properly.
