Do you actually need to use Moodle for this? From your comments about it not using the course sections etc of Moodle and if it's a one-day 4 hour situation, would it be easier to consider using a Cloud-based (365/Gsuite etc) style solution? Obviously depends on the specifics, but might be easier option to consider as it'll remove the issue around hits etc And can host videos on either of those too Steve

I mean calendar wise you could just share the calendar you want to both PAs. But it depends what the actual purpose of this is in that sense. If it's just to see what's on an overlay should work, if it's for the PA to add stuff onto the calendars, then unless you're happy sharing both calendars can't they just use "schedule view"? That is what it's designed for to check when things are available on multiple calendars etc. e.g. PA1 has School1 (Write) + School2 (View) calendar , and PA2 has School2 (Write) + School1 (View) calendar etc, schedule view will then only show available spots between both but can only edit their own But again this would all change if they want mailbox access to to reply/forward emails etc Steve

Ah so you actually want it showing in a single folder? Think you could do it via a search folder and use that as the inbox but that seems excessive tbh (and a lot more confusing for an end user lol) Youd create a search folder across all mailboxes and then add in any excluders you wanted like unread blah blah Steve

Once logged in to both it’ll auto pick the reply address based on who the email is sent to, will have both mailboxes shown as inboxes, will also merge calendars/invites if asked to etc Steve

Most will still have it but only as a secondary, lots use their own domain now as it’s generally a lot shorter than the sch style ones and easier to remember or search for parents etc Steve

I guess it's the argument that those who are at home need to be support the same way as those who are in, else it's "Unfair" etc. So if works being set online/programs used, so should it be internally Oh totally agree in that sense, but that's not going to change whether you have keyboard covers etc. No different to touching the chairs they sit on, somewhere down the line though it's got to be "allowed risk" (or at least in the govs eyes). That's called primary, not secondary? Classes don't all learn together, same topics, same subjects etc rather impossible and pointless for "exam face-to-face" subjects Steve

One idea that was floated, and obviously this does depend on numbers of students/computers etc, but just getting a compact keyboard (£6-7) per kid, even if it's lets say 200 tops Y10s and all return it's gonna be cheaper than any other method I'd expect Now whether that's stored in class, or physically given is obviously a big difference. Yes gonna be a lot of faff, but you'd hope being USB, front plugs etc, they could just plug it in and go that way no-one else is gonna touch "their" keyboard at all A lot of it will depend how your classes are done though, if you're using small 15 groups of the same students in same rooms it's gonna be a lot easier, than lots of different mixed groups/rooms etc Steve

I'd strongly disagree to that, it may work well for us as IT people because we can check groups/AD etc But how does any old staff/student know that RLP12 is "Rebecca L Plum In Y7" or "Ralph L Paster in Y11" or in that example one of the other 10 RLPs? etc etc. Just complicates things especially with some more common initials/initial surname where you could have lots of people with it. Dell removed most of them late 2019 (5055 was the last I think), apparently you "can" still bug them for them, but pricing wise it's stupidly off due to Intel rebates HP seem semi-decent when I was flicking through their Pro/Elitedesk line the other day, but again guessing it depends what you want (Tower wise etc) Steve

Very interesting, been looking around for a while to replace mine, as still running a very aging i7 4770 (3.4ghz) that's had a good but hard life (Graphics card melted a while back so just got some cheap and nasty one in currently which struggles to even play a basic game) Seems even the base 3100 is beating those specs now if I'm reading that right! Must be time for a new system! Take it they're still gonna be pretty poor GPU wise? They don't include any decent vega etc (or whatever the latest AMD version is), but guessing with the way graphics card gone recently even a cheapy will beat my current Steve

Remote Server returned '550 5.4.300 Message expired -> 450 4.2.2 <***@icloud.com>: user is overquota 1990s want their errors back! Aye, that was my concern Was hoping to condense down the masses of cables/equipment around my desk to a nice shiny aio/monitor mounted micro etc, but obviously these really aren't very repairable in all senses! Just silly money for any decent spec one, and no way with my current storage to manage on a 256 or less drive Guess as you say, always an option to try it out and make sure it works before spicing it up Steve

Good Afternoon All, Slightly OT question, more for personal rather than work, but anyone know off hand what the normal terms for warranty voiding if you change hard drives/RAM etc on computers are? I know with work/business accounts you can normally get away from it as they always assume the cases are opened etc (Obviously won't replace that 3rd party piece, but desktop wise) Obviously individual companies may do different, but looking at some new computer options and can't find any within a decent price bracket that have the storage I need! More and more of these new boxes seem very unfriendly for any repair at home! Many thanks, Steve

Both will work together. Where you have SSSO enabled (e.g. on-site) it'll auto login by passing hashes Offsite it'll work by allowing them to login via sync'd password as normal Steve
