  1. Have you tried putting the PBX outside your firewall just to test it? And see if it’s working without anything in its way There are so many things it could be related to with filtering inspection firewall etc Most of the time it’s more likely to be a firewall issue than gamma I would say! And obviously if it is firewall related it wouldn’t fix it with another supplier normally Steve
  2. Which ports have you unblocked so far? Most firewalls would auto detect the rules for clusters, so I can check what we have but would be easier to know which you did already Steve

    New server

That normally depends on the kit Most is warranties via the company (ETB etc do their own as above) But some of the kit they buy is like Dell warehouse ends so that comes with Dell direct but less than the full time as it has to be delivered to the supplier and then you etc Steve
  4. Without knowing what the random AV software is actually doing, I’d assume one thing to check would be does it actually allow cluster service ports by default? If it’s turning off windows firewall and locking it down you’d need to manually allow all those connections But as a quick test you could just add a full unblock for the IPs of both SANs to see if it is that, then worry about finding individual ports later Steve

    New server

Doable… yes ish at least Currently doing a procurement for a new school and one of the options we were given is: Dell PowerEdge R550 - 2x 4310 CPU, 128GB RAM, 2x 240GB BOSS, 4x 1.2TB 10K, 2x SFP28, Dual PSU. 5 Year NBD - £4664 So if you consider out of procurement pricing might be slightly higher. But then you have the non-Dell/lower warranty/non-28 NICs options id say you shouldn’t have a problem around that pricing Steve
  6. Don’t? Generally don’t bother with anything linked to menus, as you never get told updates and then get no end of complaints when you’re showing stuff not on offer! We try to keep it more generic/automated, eg upcoming events syncs via school calendar/twitter/Facebook etc or housw points/rewards Steve
  7. We don’t use the function, as never really seen the point of the groups if I’m honest (for devices) but exporting our machines as a CSV shows the full OU path Steve
  8. Click the group Go to permissions And then associated machines And it needs to be done via one of those options Either OUs, LAN ip or installed packages Steve
  9. That’s funny, we have one computer doing the same thing since half-term Any sound is stupidly quiet, but the ding works at normal level Been on my list to check the cabling when I get a minute, but if you’re finding the same I wonder if there is an issue with an update or driver Steve
  10. That’s correct Not all the options are via the web GUI for Basic some are IPMI only You’d have: Local Config via USC IPMI 2 Embedded Diagnostics Local OS Install/Updates/Drivers Shared LOM Remote Updates (IPMI only) Power Control (IPMI only) Most the fancier bits need Express minimum, even if not Enterprise Steve
  11. Basic is only for remote monitoring etc You need enterprise if you were trying to get virtual console etc You can see the licenses in dell open manage/server admin (omsa/ome etc) depending on which version you have installed Most the licenses you’ll find now on eBay etc are all “generated” ones Steve
  12. I'd say it's just left-overs, as originally it was yellow is single, while orange is multimode (whether OM1 or OM2) It's like the whole aqua OM3/OM4 thing, while some do Violet for OM4 (an EU thing not American), depending if they're running certain standards My general assumption is never trust colours Steve
  13. There’s an I tune policy to auto append the bit after @ assuming they’re all using the same end point Steve
  14. Not sure if it’s changed but anything with invalid token in used to be non supported CPUs Think the checks don’t recognise some of the latest cpus as 64bit You tried the 32bit client just to test it on one of them? Steve
  15. That line is likely to be a reseller description, as it doesn’t look like that on CSP normally But if it’s just a standard Microsoft A5 for Faculty then no it won’t give the SuB by default They need to add those on, but it’s a free license to add Looking on our CSP catalog it shows up as “Microsoft 365 A5 for faculty Microsoft 365 A5 for students use benefit” As the two A5 versions (or A3 etc) With faculty being paid monthly/annual, and free for students one So when placing an order I’d say 6x and 240x etc Steve
  16. So in that scenario you fully cover EQUs eg 6 As part of the SuB (student use benefit) for covering those 6 you’d get 240 student licenses (1:40 ratio) If you only cover 2 staff, officially you have 0 SuB licenses as it’s not fully covered if that makes sense Steve
  17. Officially not really You get 40 licenses per staff (if full coverage of EQU), so if you’re only paying one staff but using 40 students it’s not really covered as you’re using the student use benefit without covering EQU Steve
  18. I assume that pricing is their home brand though, inspiron rather than optiplex etc? Just one thing to be aware of But yea the new cpus are certainly a lot chunkier even at the base models! Steve
  19. What’s the actual issue? that seems to be working as expected It you sign into any office apps it has that account across them all. If you sign out of one in reverse the same happens You can be signed in with multiple accounts and you just get the drop down profile chooser in office etc Steve
  20. Yep, same as if it was 2019 etc It’s only 365 that makes it different Steve
  21. Normally it depends what they setup as the rules for it to check Could be anything from GDPR to FIPS, number of retention points, time taken to backup date etc etc They should be able to run the reports to give you the full details though if you don’t have full access Steve

    System Image

You generally only need to change it if you aren’t using the right drivers Normally something like Intel raid/rapid drivers need to be loaded into the image for m2/nvme etc Steve
  23. By default the accounts need local admin rights "and" SQL permissions, which is probably where SYSTEM breaks Create a service account with local admin rights on the applicable servers (and add it directly to the SQL server for the Veeam database, unless you have all admins aroup added already) (Veeam, HyperV, Member Servers etc) and nothing should stop working as it'd still have permissions to restore VMs/files as required Obviously you can go further and do per HOST/VM accounts within the account settings, but the above would be first step to removing domain admin Steve
  24. When you got to the bootable stage there’s an option to add drivers in, you’ll probably need something like the intel rapid/raid drivers etc depending on the M2 Steve
  25. Did you restart the server after the upgrade? Had similar before and just disappeared after restart Steve
