About Sc00by

  1. Apologies for hijacking the thread but I am encountering a similar issue and wondering if anyone has came across any alternatives, fixes, workarounds or if it's just the way it is. Currently experimenting with Intune. Have created apps and policies and set up autopilot. All works great but I've just spotted today that policies don't seem to apply to the second user that logs onto a machine. Current scenario - we install Win11 and log in as an admin account at the first OOBE wizard to install our baseline apps, register to Azure and so on. This finishes and the machine reboots. The next person that logs onto the laptop for the first time gets a quick OOBE wizard, which is great as it prompts for their 2FA. Once successful it logs them in and their OneDrive, outlook, teams etc is all fully functional. - Perfect scenario. However, from now on, anyone else that logs onto the device receives no OOBE wizard meaning no 2FA prompt. I have to force a 2FA login once at the desktop, either through the verify account or an office app. We also see that at this stage no policies have applied. OneDrive KFM, mapped drives and so on have not applied. Regedit is accessible, the usual.Within Intune it shows the policies as being applied successfully. Policies are linked to machines rather than users. Am I missing something? - Intune seems very much set up for single use, one-to-one arrangements where in this scenario would be ideal but when it comes to shared use the 'instant' application of policies similar to GPO is not what it's intended use is for.
  2. Apparently this was being rolled out globally by Microsoft and it looks to have hit our Tenancy in the past few days. https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/make-every-meeting-online-70f9bda0-fd29-498b-9757-6709cc1c73f0 This affected our O365 outlook as well as clients. Every meeting request made automatically turns it into a Teams meeting. We want to switch this off rather than it being forced upon us. The workaround at the moment is to click on the teams icon and click Do not host Online. I've set OnlineMeetingsByDefaultEnabled $false against our Exchange online and this has switched it off for O365 but the clients are still applying it. We're running Outlook 2021 LTSC Build 2108. There are many articles around pointing towards a check box in settings but this is only available in build 2208 and above. LTSC is not at that level. Something has obviously changed in the client for it to start doing this and I can't see any online, GPO or registry setting to force this off. Has anyone else experienced this and know how to turn it off?
  3. Hi Steve A tricky one to move the PBX beyond the firewall but we have calls routing fine through our secondary trunk. No firewall changes and no system changes just a sudden stop. For us the biggest issue at the moment is the complete and total lack of support and feedback from Gamma. No traces when requested and on looking back at one of the few emails early on they did allude to seeing both audio streams at their end so if they are receiving audio from us it's then not being send on through their network
  4. We're into day 3 now with still no fix. Requested traces from them (we're having to go through another supplier) but nothing back yet. I ran a packet capture on the firewall yesterday, loaded into wireshark and can hear both sides of the call. This, to me, proves we are sending Gamma audio, it's getting lost beyond that as far as I can tell (we can always hear the remote side they can't hear us) With all that's gone on we've now started the ball rolling on moving provider. What's everyone else using as a SIP trunk provider? - Given our past experience with Gamma any alternative needs to have SLA's, 24/7 support etc
  5. The last problem we had with Gamma was a routing problem with Vodafone mobiles. Took 4 days to fix! Just tried a traditional landline but the problem is the same. Dial a number and its just total silence with no ringing but the person you are calling can still pick up and hear me but I couldn't hear them. Yes it happens for all inbound and outbound calls including international
  6. They ran a trace yesterday afternoon and stated that they could hear both sides. They've ran another trace this morning and I've gave them 15 test calls this time - Just waiting on feedback When we dial out we hear the standard remote ringing and can hear the far end but they can't hear us. When dialling IN, for example, from a mobile you don't hear anything at all on the mobile. You don't hear the ringing tones but internally the phone rings and can be answered. We can hear them but they can't hear us. Comparing an Asterisk log from a successful call days ago to a failed one today is identical with no errors
  7. Thanks all for the replies so far. We have, what I would class, as a relatively simple setup (deliberately so). everything sits on an ESXI server. Two pfsense fw's and two PBX installs. One FW does nothing else except route for the primary trunk and the other does the secondary. We have a primary PBX which does everything and a second PBX which manages the outbound route out to the broadband. There is an IAX link between the two servers. We had to go this route due to Gamma's authentication based on IP and felt this was the simplest way to achieve this. We've not changed, upgraded, tweaked or modified the system in any way for weeks. I wasn't anywhere near it when it stopped yesterday which makes me suspicious that it's an external issue.
  8. Hi all I currently look after an on-prem FPBX v16 (Asterisk v18) system which has around 250 extensions. Mixed between Polycom IP650 and Cisco VG224 analog gateways due to the nature of the site. We've been using FPBX for around 13years now and refreshed from v2.11 to v16 in December. It's never let us down the entire time however on our refresh to v16 we also migrated from ISDN to SIP trunks. In 20+years the ISDN only went down twice however since december our SIP trunk with Gamma has gone down at least 4 times. The previous issue was a 3 day outage and we're now into our 5th outage. One way audio (people can hear us, we can't hear them). Started yesterday morning. We have a second Gamma trunk that routes through a broadband line in the workshop. Was aimed at testing but has morphed into a backup SIP route. We are able to route our outbound calls down this trunk and this is working fine but the problem is our incoming DDI's are still pointing to the primary trunk which has the problem. It's been a full day of back and fourth with Gamma saying it's our problem and us saying it's not. We've rebooted everything, there's no errors in FPBX and the fact that we're able to route to the backup trunk without issue points squarely towards a Gamma problem on the other trunk. Has anyone experienced any similar problems lately? - We're a bit stumped. is there anyone out there able to assist? - Does anyone have any recommendations for any companies who provide support to Asterisk based systems?
  9. We are currently looking to change our VMS due to our existing one not being up to the job anymore. We have spent a substantial amount in upgrading the hardware so only a software solution is needed. I ran the demo of Luxriot, very impressed but couldn't get over the fact that when you try to do some research on them they don't seem to exist. Hardly any reviews, articles, web presence in search engines etc which felt odd to me considering they have been around for quite some time. I have been trialling Milestone which again is a great product but trying to get an extended licence or even some sort of sense out of them is like pulling teeth. An element of pricing came through on Friday which was eyewatering. After spotting this thread (I should have looked here first) I am now swinging back to Luxriot. Did you guys deal with Luxriot direct with regards to purchasing or have you to go through a reseller? Can anyone give me any more pro's and con's with Luxriot to help me in my recommendations to our SLT?
  10. We are currently investigating replacing our gate barriers with a paxton based system, ANPR and rollout out of staff id cards (students to come later). Visitor management is also high on the agenda and on trialing the Paxton NET2 software, which ticks every other box, seems a bit fiddly on how to manage visitors. Is there anyone out there that uses NET2 for visitor management, if so how do you run it, if not, are there any alternative programs that can integrate into paxton? The budget is tight and we don't want a full blown touch screen setup that they fill in them selves. The receptionist entering the details into the system and issuing a colored lanyard would be sufficient.
  11. I am experimenting with Monaserver with OBS but RTMP seems to only stream via a flash based player. This is heading the same way as silverlight. Has anyone any experience with streaming to something HTML5 compatible?
  12. for the last 5ish years we have been streaming a birdbox mainly internally (with external access to limited people) using an ancient xp machine with composite pci capture card running microsoft expression encoder which then pushes to IIS on a server 2008 running smooth streaming plugin. works great with a client DVR but the web client is silverlight and the way it is streamed means any standard HTML5 player doesn't support it. I was looking at OBS with nginx but MonaServer looks a simpler setup. Since mentioning this ideas have been going about that we can now broadcast school events online. Youtube Live is interesting but we like to brand things ourself with no reliance of any external 3rd party. What I can't get to the bottom of is whether nginx or MonaServer can take 2 separate inputs and then subsequently stream them out, presumably with different URL's? For example we would have the permanent birdcam stream but if we then had an event that required streaming, can the same instance of monaserver or nginx cope with this and if so how?
  13. We are currently looking for software that can power manage roughly 800 machines. Something that can give an alert to the end user and give them the option to cancel. Taskforce seems to work well (and at a good price. we were quoted mid 4 figures for PowerMAN!) however on installing it on a server we found that it rewrites folder permissions on top level ProgramData by removing everything and adding in the 'Everyone' group. This doesn't filter properly and we quickly found that other programs we had running on that server soon complained!! - It's not something we would have picked up on when tested on a vanilla machine. Other than that it works well but would be intersted to hear in any alternatives. What we go for must have an option for the end user to cancel a scheduled shutdown which rules out most scripts, psshutdown etc. We have also experimented with scheduled tasks but these have been very unreliable.
  14. It sounds like your new modules are singlemode and your fibre is probably multimode or your modules are for a different type of multimode cable eg 62.5/125, 50/125 etc If this is the case you'll need to get multimode converters to match your cable however we're finding it quite difficult to source multimode Gb modules for our kit. Cisco seem to be the only brand we've had success with but even then it's all from eBay. We're 62.5/125 and officially this only supports GB upto 250metres however we have managed to get a GB at 600metres but not much further than that. To get Gb beyond that you need singlemode cable. If your multimode cable run is quite long and you are trying to get a Gb the connectors inside the splice trays must be absolutely spotless. We have links here that work perfectly fine at 100mb but refuse to run at a Gb. A good clean and they usually work fine.
  15. So with ISDNe due to be retired by 2025 and the alternative to be a SIP trunk, how many of you out there are going to have to replace your entire system so it can support SIP? 10 years to go: what the end of ISDN means for your business | Information Age SIP trunking PSTN replacement - BT One Voice SIP trunk UK - BT Large business & public sector We've just finished an in house shift from a 25yr old Alcatel to an Asterisk based system (300 extension) and are still using ISDN for our outside calls with mixed IP handsets and Cisco analog gateways. To upgrade the Alcatel to support SIP and other features that Asterisk gave us (fax to email, voicemail to email etc) was going to be 6 figures! - A long and challenging project but at least we're a major step towards being able to move away from ISDNe, the only issue is how reliable it would be for our on site chip and pin machines which are dialup and fax machines, and of course, how to configure asterisk to use it!.
