I have had a few of those recently some of them have really pushed the 'Health and Safety' angle and tried to imply that the 'old type' of insulation is dangerous pretty under hand tactics - I presume they are after vulnerable people due to either age or ignorance I presume if a 'surveyor' came out their tactics would be pretty hard-sell I do wonder about going along just to waste their time but I think my wife would be against the idea - I can be more of a bar steward than her well - sometimes anyway

Had to take Mrs mikeprice to the far side of town this afternoon On the way there we passed a anti-vax demo with signs tied to road signs and people waving banners at people as they drove past Bunch of total nutters luckily they were just by the side of the road and (hopefully) not on the high street or blocking any NHS places

Got a letter from my Dentist today very nice letter saying that they hoped I hd been OK through the last 2 years and apologising for not being able to function normally for all of that time But now they are able, within limits, to start to get back to offering a normal service and - 'our records show that you are due for an annual check up' Really - well who would have thunk eh!!! I hate the dentist Mrs mikeprice hates them far far more anyway - gotta be done

How did you find potential installers? I have tried in the past but everything seems to go a one of those middle man type websites that forward your details onto a proper company - probably for an unreasonably large fee

We have dropped lucky - our green deal with Green Network Energy was trashed when they went bust - about the first ones in this cycle EDF have really done well - put us on a tarrif that was lower than anything else then transferred us to one of their deals just for people they got from the trasfer then offered a fixed deal several months ago which took us from £78 to £101 - which seemed a big hike but now it seems like the best possible deal we were damn lucky!!! in the future $deity knows - probably solar panels and a battery - I would like to find a trustworthy local company that does them but all I get is sites that send your details to a load of companies that pay to get them and last time I tried that I only got one person who refused to go further because of the trees at the end of the garden - even though I said they never shade the roof and one who came round and said it was 'impossible' to install any because the roof is made up of 4 triangles we eventually got a quote from a company - but it involved a battery they was weaker than a weak thing and a load of gadgets that just were 50% marketing and 50% fake science so I gave up must try again soon

I presume that makes sense if extra factors are known maybe the cycleway has a 'ramp' or narrow stretch caused by roadworks or something

Good News!!! Apparently I have WON £500,000 on the Euromillions Lottery!!!! I know this because I had an automated phone call telling me about it this morning!! Bit of a problem though - they told me I have won - but to claim it I have to ring 00108xxxxxxxxxxxxxx i.e. quite a long number and said far too fast to be remembered - and not repeated and no "Press 1 to repeat' or maybe 'press 8 to talk to one of our claim advisors' OK - clearly fake but what did they get from this?? no chance to capture any information no chance to con me into anything OK - they know someone answered the phone and listened to the whole message - but it was pretty short so it isn;t like it lasted several minutes indicating someone who may react another time??? but indicating it is a live line could be done far easier - just someone answering would be enough can;t really see what they were after

Rang the surgery this morning - apparently I was the 8th they were great and took my name and said that currently not everyone was in (it was gone 9:30!!!) and they did not currently have the relevant information and they would ring me back when they knew what is happening Anyway - about 2 hours later I got a phone call saying I am due this week anyway on the old rules (I'm not - it is next week but whatever) but I could book through the NHS website and go to a walk in or they have a clinic on Friday and I could book into that so I'm being stabbed on Friday and this time Mrs mikeprice won't be coming - last time was the flu jab and the nurse commented "you really don't like injections do you" seriously dented by Hard Man image:p

When I did it I didn;t use a template but I was specific about what I wanted on the quote Let's just say some of the people replying may not have read the requirements in detail!! I couldn;t just elinate them because then I wouldn;t have had enough quotes! The other thing is that you need to allow suppliers to come up with different things just in case they have an option that may suit you better e.g. we ended up agreeing to a system where we had a 'free' (i.e. prepaid at a lower rate) for the whole 5 year term rather than it applying per year which is great as the first few years would have no extra charges for going over the 'free' amount and going into the more expensive extra prints rate but it does leave a bear trap waiting for the last 2 years if the numbers increase But this was fine for us as the Head was determined to reduce the number of prints and had a strategy to do it Of course a year or so after that teh Head left - and then me a term later - so $deity knows how it went but I did warn them - in detail - so some else's problem!

Whoever arranged that must be a really Fungi they are quite packed in though not mushroom left sorry:rolleyes:
