Coronavirus: General discussion (see opening post for rules)

Lots of total carp around about the figures The Daily Fail had an article this morning (no - I don;t normally read it - but I saw it on Google News) saying that Omicron has already peaked - before Christmas So I went onto the official government data website Firstly - full of warnings about incomplete data for most of the Christmas period basically but the data they have accurately, stops about when the article says it peaked so basically if you ignore the data that was not in yet then the number of cases have dropped great stats there almost as good as saying that you should stop testing so the numbers drop - which some moron on the telly yesterday was saying (and someone else but lets not get all amphibian) In the next few daya the real figures will be complete - then they all get delayed again due to New Year I'l; lay off believing anything until the figures stabilise again in January -
BUT if you put the 2 together a) birds are not real but are machines spying on us b) 5G is causing problems with the 'birds' soooooo clearly the radiation from 5G is interfering with the electronics and comms systems in the 'birds' The people REALLY controlling things seem to have accidentally allowed the 2 systems to interact and mess each other up and are covering it by calling it 'bird flu' Hope this helps

Went to the chippie this evening Quite a few people waiting for meals I was the only one with a mask lets hope the reports of Omicron being less likely to put people in hospital/morgue are true because people are not taking it seriously!! -
Oh - anyway - back on topic I was thinking If I get solar panels on the roof and a battery to store it then get 2 - or more- of those charging sleep safely things but point them all into a central point could I put something together to put enough charge into the battery so that I get enough energy to fill the whole battery and maybe provide energy for the whole street I'm sure it would work just like the endless posts on ebike forums (yes - I do them) asking if you have a rear wheel motor - and put a dynamo on the front wheel - can you ride forever without pedalling

I have been in IT since 1981 I have been through radiation from terminals causing cancer, miscarriages, eye problems and $deity knows what else Then mobile phones did the same - the original analog ones the size of a brick and 3 times as heavy Then digital phones were $somethingorother then I may have missed something but then 3G was killing everyone Then 4G was the work of $somedevilorother and was doing something or other to everyone the Y2k gave us a rest for a while while I fixed it (OK - only in a small area - but I did a bit) now we seem to have even bigger crazies going on about 5G based on evidence that is out the far side of crazy of off into the distance all combined with vaccines some people just need to believe that someone else is their enemy

funding for LEAs and school to make changes to improve ventilation safely and install UV/HEPA filters (or whatever) to take the virus out of the air but most of all - people in charge not thinking ahead and by people - I do NOT mean politicians - I mean very highly paid people in highly placed admin and management positions well above those working in a school I mean - when I used to work inIT in a big business then main Network support person was like these people I would come across a change that could have been made to greatly improve the way it all worked his response - "no-one ever asked for that" of course they didn;t - they didn;t know what was possible - that was our job stopping before this become a rant/story once this pandemic is over we need to have another EDIT and I can tell you all some stories in person possibly with some enhancements -

I might be more inclined to think about maybe going back to teach for a while 'to help out' if I was sure that the schools are doing everything possible to reduce the spread things like increasing ventilation, installing systems to get rid of airborne viruses and had the funding to do that but every school I have worked in over the last 10 years has had b****** awful ventilation and windows that, if they exists and actually open, open so little that about 17 atoms per house can go out through the tiny gap and yesterday I read an article saying how well they are doing in evaluating some systems to kill the virus using UV of filters "doing well" - wasn;t that a kinda obvious thing that should have been looked at 'quite a long time ago' I just have no confidence that I could go to a school and find they were totally on top of things and anyway - if I go to an agency could I even get to ask a possible school these questions and check things out before I start??? What are people's thoughts about how schools are doing? -

Reminds me of going round to see my Dad a few years before he died He had just had a salesperson on the phone trying to get him to buy a 10 year extended warranty on a new $somethingorother he kept saying "But I'm 82 - what do I need a 10 year guarantee for - I'll be dead before then" apparently the person on the other end was rather confused

Really sorry to bring this bad news (Don't 'shoot' the messenger!)

Apparently retired (and other) ex teachers are being encouraged to apply from Monday to return to work Because teachers are getting Covid and going off sick OK - so - basically - you want a bunch of older people - who are therefore more vulnerable - to restart work in an environment where there are a large number of other people who may not have been vacinated fully as they are not old enough for that yet and then they cn go home at night to their family - who are also older - and spend the rest of the day with them what could possibly go wrong?? so - basically - I wouldn't mind as long as I was teaching something I know about (i.e. computing) and there was some decent lesson plans and not much marking but Mrs mikeprice and I have only been married about 5 years (?????) and I was kinda hoping to get a few more in before one of us dies so - sorry - not this time -
OMG what did you do I mean it is not like you could log into your account online and check or anything I think the disgusting thing about these scams is when they are deliberately aimed at the most vulnerable I just wish there was a way of doing what Hollywood think you can do (actually - on this site - what WE can do) and reverse hack then and crash their computer system I thin GoldenEye was the worst for that

I have just found out there is a book called "What Every Woman Wants" I was wondering if anyone has a copy I could borrow for a few minutes I just want to check they spelt my name right
