  1. To fill in the time I started up a sideline making tennis equipment Environmental Health have just been round and shut me down due to noise polution apparently I was making a racquet
  2. I do seem to have been lucky with the side effects - pretty much clear in spit of having 3 Pfizer (so far!!!) my wife was not so lucky - she had a sore arm and an idiot husband who kept forgetting and hugging her where it hurt!!!!! other than that we have been OK luck of the draw I suppose
  3. Just to add a different viewpoint There is a proper reason that this sort of thing exists e.g. if someone found out that the Head of an academy has a relative who runs a printer company and suspects that all the schools in the academy are being pressurised to have their contract with this company this is, as far as I know, the reason that such things exists - to allow people to dig out situation where someone working for a publicly funded organisation uses it in a way that benefits themselves. In this case I would agree that this is not the case but limiting the ability of a printer sales person to find out this sort of thing also limits the ability of the other person as well you can't have swings without roundabouts (or something like that) - - - Updated - - - As an extra bit - would it be valid for the school to reply but leave out the bit about the make etc for security reasons??
  4. Based on the state of the tarmac path by the local nature reserve/'beauty spot near here - I would say that is just accurate honest labelling
  5. Is that even allowed on here???? I mean - frogs or what
  6. I agree I'll have the rump steak instead
  7. Just sold my homing pigeon on eBay for the 22nd time
  8. I would be tempted to send them an email saying "As we have not heard anything I presume we will be follwoing government guidance and reverting to the WFH as we did previously" probably wouldn't do it - but I would be tempted
  9. I don;t tend to have problems with the ones marked push or pull I do get confused about the doors marked 'Lift'
  10. Have they got a web site???? asking for a friend:D
  11. TBF - if I was told to put that A4 notice up - that is where I would have put it
  12. If I was still working at my last job I bet they would want me in school However, if I set up proper remote access - which I would have had to do for the first lockdown anyway then a lot of my job could have been done from home and as I live 5 minutes from the school it would actually be quicker to get hold of me at home and for me to come in than the systems 'some' of teh teachers used i.e. send a kid to find me - who will probably dawdle and go to the loo on the way - then ask at the office about where I am then come and knock on the computer room door - which I won't hear because I would be in the server room then they would go back to the class and be told to knock on the server room door then they do that or , of course, the teacher could have rung me - but if was at home that would still work, and if I was at home I would be there in 5 minutes anyway if necessary wouldn't have happened though
  13. Yes - but the guidance seems clear work from home IF YOU CAN - not if the Head wants you to if you have a team of 3 doing something and only 1 needs to be in while the other 2 work from home then that should be done Good luck with that
  14. I wonder what the regulation say about putting them in spaces that are shared and has walls from both houses e.g. my sister-in-law's house has a passageway between the houses with a 'flying freehold' over the top of it - both houses need access down the passageway but there may be room for an air source thing on each side but the room over the top could becoem rather noisy maybe and also - as there are walls on each side and a roof above - the rooms on each side would also get more noise than normal probably an extreme case - just wondering
  15. WHAT have I missed some stories about electric bikes where were they who told them?????? have I missed anything else - about sheds maybe????
  16. I can confirm that I put my 'Big Coat' on last night to get tea from McDonalds (i.e. Tea - as in evening meal - not tea as in a drink - my wife was brought up in strange places) mind you - I do have a stinking cold and was shivering all evening under a blanket on the sofa some might ask why it was me that had to go out in the cold but not me - how daft do you think I am????
  17. Vaccines and boosters were very well organised here - at least ours went well. maybe we are just lucky? also - been feeling rubbish since Saturday - feels like a bad cold/flu/"galloping dry rot"(as my Dad used to say) so I have taken a home test 2 days running and it seems I am negative still feel rubbish but at least it isn't the "variant of many pronunciations" or anything like that
  18. To be fair - re-reading it I did overuse the word about anyway - I was worried about my missing shed - but someone has pointed out that it has been found
  19. Is there something wrong with Edugeek storage of old posts I have been trying to find an old post about an osteopath about a weak back
  20. What do you find concerning about an old man sneaking unseen into children's' bedrooms in the middle of the night carrying a length of rope??? I read a few years ago about a kid who, not unreasonably, was rather worried about this man being in her bedroom at night - Santa's presents had to be left at her Gran's house another kid had to have them left in the shed anyway - never did me any harm
  21. Latest grandkid was 1 yesterday and there was a little party for him - and the other 2 came home and started feeling rubbish - sore throat and nose running like a tap I was worried I had caught something from someone there - as the kids and their parents are the only people we ever go near other than shopping trips so did a home test this morning - apparently I'm negative - must be a cold or something still - worrying for a while
  22. Based on the last few days I would say that mask wearing in Tesco here is up - but still only 50-60% It does seem to vary a lot depending on the time you go. I went yesterday and there were less than normal with masks - but forgot something and went back a couple of hours later and there were far more it also seems to be varying depending on age - older people more likely to wear one - younger adults less so Also - several cases of couple where the woman has a mask and the bloke doesn't sigh
  23. Two vultures are boarding a commercial airline flight. Each bird has two dead racoons tightly clutched in both of their talons. The stewardess looks at them and says "Sorry gentleman, but only one carrion per passenger.". OK OK OK even I have to admit that I coped that from 'another website'
  24. I don;t want to be pedantic (he lied) but it seems to me that is 2 words just saying - don;t want this thread going off topic or anything
