  1. I didn't see anything wrong with that until I went back and forward about 5 times witch probably explains a lot
  2. Maybe be better as an amphibian attached to an explosive device floating in a river passing Newcsatle ‘Frog on the tyne is all mined, all mined…
  3. Happy St David's day to eveyone - especially those in Wales (I used to live there!) now - I don;t want to be pedantic (!) but last time I looked Taunton was not in Wales?? has the National Assembly been land grabbing while we are all looking at Ukraine???
  4. It was a while ago 5 year contract must have finished at the end of last year) but at my last school we went witha local company that supplied Ricoh WHen I asked the engineers they reckoned the owner of the company was an engineer and used Ricoh because they gave less problems once set up mind you - the config interface required the sacrifice of 3 goats and 7 chickens under full moon by 2 virgin riding unicorns (have you ever tried to find a v err - forget that one) but did work once you got your head round it once they were working they just worked unless something wore out - which was unusual and normally after several years of heavy use auto toner refresh seems to mostly work fine Prices were better via the local firm than direct and I reckoned that service was better from the smaller company mind you - a couple that quoted I would not trust to run a 'business event' in a beer making establishment - so you do have to choose carefully
  5. Just a note that there is another Demand Flexibility thingy tomorrow for those that take part we have 'made' £10 so far already posted on the Solar panels thread those give the option of 'cheating' using the batteries wonder if some electric car systems can do the same? anyway - just saying Oh and Happy Belated Birthday to @elsiegee40 - same birthday as my sister-in-law we took them to a local pub who had a quiz night on the same date and still was not totally full still no pink in evidence and the normal menu and prices - so a good choice
  6. What puzzles me is that we are supposed to leave lids on bottles whether metal or plastic no idea why but there you are
  7. wasn;t quite sure the best thread for this one - thought here would at least be safe!
  8. Apparently this is only in-store so I can;t see it on line I am also only going off what someone else told me so take it with a pinch or 10 of salt but apparently ASDA are selling Valentine cards - 3 for £3 Great one for Mrs mikeprice - one for oh - hang on maybe not the best thought out special offer but it does bring back memories of valentines dya morning in Halls at University (male only hall) when some people would appear for breakfast with their girlfriend to find several valentine cards in their mailbox and then have to explain it to the lady they had brought down to breakfast naturally there was ABSOLUTELY NO CHANCE their 'mates' had put a few extra in when they knew he had brought their girlfriend back for the night no no no who would do that???
  9. Laughing - as in the song
  10. I get the impression that this is for teh benefit of businesses - financial ones mainly - and governments not for the ordinary people but lets not get into political territory - there be frogs
  11. Dictionary (where I went to find out - I mean check - what it actually meant!)
  12. Didn;t photograph it because there was a queue behind me - and I didn;t want to look weird but I filled up with petrol today - went to Morrission because it was cheapest - and way cheaper than ESSO that has been cheapest since before the pandemic other normal station is Tesco - Morrission is a new one for me (which is important later!) anyway - inserted my credit card - ignored the option for using a Morrission card as I don;t have one filled up and re-checked the display which gave the price followed by the comment No Loyalty bit harsh! I know I normally use ESSO or Tesco - but calling me out for it seem a bit much - it is only a petrol pump Is AI getting more all seeing than I thought????
  13. I was reading about this yesterday Most of what I read made me think the same as people are saying above the one thing I spotted was something something something 3rd parry companies can store the currency in digital wallets something something something sounds like part of the reasons is allow some of the control over some funds to move from the actual banks to 3rd party companies - and hence make - possibly - transfer from one mobile device to another easier and more direct and less regulated All sort of possible problems here - even without getting in frog-worthy territory - but if it is all under the umbrella of the Bank of England then I presume it will be trustworthy the article I was reading said that lots of other countries have implemented it - or are well on their way to doing so I just hope no-one finds any 'short cuts' for the Sterling version!!
  14. FINALLY JUSTICE HAS BEEN SERVED!! There’s been a local smack head called Cal breaking into houses around the area but the police have been unable to catch him. He was breaking into people’s homes, robbing them of everything he could find before putting a brick in their washing machine and turning it on before leaving! Well, I’ve just been informed that he’s passed away after a drug overdose! Sadly it’s never a nice thing for someone to die in any circumstance, but at least washing machines will live longer with Cal gone!! and
  15. This could have gone in the Annoying Things thread - but actually I was spoilt for choice for that today!! Anyway - I have been ignoring WIndows11 up to now because I checked quite a while ago and discovered that Mrs Mikeprice's laptop was not compatible with it Hence I wanted mine to stay on Windows 10 as well so I could do things on mine then tell her what to do on hers Anyway - just after lunch she 'mentioned' that her keyboard had stopped working - totally caps lock light wouldn;t come on and the NumLock light was on but wouldn;t go out same in several applications tried an external keyboard that I had hanging around (doesn't everyone??) and that worked fine while I was doing this she mentioned that it had done an update last night so she just left it and went to bed - unplugged so it potentially could have shut down but it is unlikely then it wanted to do another one this morning so she let it and after she noticed that the taskbar had changed and that she noticed something about WIndows 11 yup - it had updated to WIndows 11 - something must have changed and her laptop had become compatible and had updated "without her authorising it" anyway - we still have the keyboard problem Device Manager said Error 19 - config thingy problem doofa of some kind Anyway - swapped laptops with her - which is always traumatic for her due to icons being in the wrong place and other stuff after a bit of 'fiddling' I deleted the keyboard and told Device Manager to look for new devices and it found it again and that fixed the problem so - the questions a) is this normal - as in has anyone had it? b) any opinions on Windows 11 for home use?? ANyway - have to update mine now so I can keep level with hers - so I can recreate any problems she come up with - hence checking for potential pitfalls before I fall into them! Thanks
  16. I ordered a balloon from Ali-express tracking info said it was on its way from China but now it says it has disappeared anyone any idea what happened to it??? sorry - rather time dependant - won;t make sense in a few days!
  17. No - quite accurate judging by the picture it is not upright - it is a few degrees off vertical
  18. Went to a restaurant last night, the waiter said "For starters there's badger soup, followed by roast badger and finishing with badger mousse” Is there anything else apart from badger?" I asked. “No", he replied. "It's a sett menu." and also We don’t know how lucky we are to have the job we have. We had a guy decorating the house for the last three days, I got chatting to him and it turns out he’s a Ryanair pilot. He’s decorating now to try and pay his mortgage, sad times but in fairness he did a great job on the landing.
  19. Yes - it was useful for Christmas but most of the year we just don't need it and having it encourages me just "just use AMazon" and not look at other options so morally I would be better off without it!!!!
  20. Yup - on 'another forum' I replied to loads of things quoting "statistics" showing supposed deaths caused by the vaccine all you had to do was read the very articles they quoted to realise that every single death within a few weeks of having the vaccine were included in the data and then used to extrapolate into 'proof' even deaths in car crashes were included and, of course, a lot of the people who had the vaccine were old and sick at the time people REALLY do not understand numbers and data
  21. crash.....
  22. Bit off topic but my Amazon Prime free usage is expiring in a few days - only discovered yesterday when I thought to check anyway - wondering whther or not to keep it watched Peripheral - which I liked also watched Rings of Power - which was good once I stopped expecting it to follow anything like Tolkein and accepted it as just another story with some of the same words tried a few other things - like re-watching Good Omens but since then I have just been watching stuff because I want to use it watched most of the first series of House as I have never seen a full episode before but not worth paying for IMO am I missing anything?? and if I cancel it - its there another things - like Netflix - that I can try for free and see what it is like??? I am feeling like just sticking with Iplayer and ITVx and the other free stuff thanks
  23. Actually - all credit to the Everton first team I have heard they have been helping out in the coffee shops and cafes around Liverpool well - probably the only way they will get their hands on any cups this year!!!
