  1. Second tweet, still awaiting comment.
  2. So apparently his guy might have the answers! I've tweeted him, suggest we all do the same and explain our issues.
  3. We are likely to be shortlisting between Arbor and Bromcom. Ideally I'd like to see them both come in for half-a-day and do sessions with all our key SIMS users so we can gauge everyone's opinion.
  4. Are there any decent alternatives to using Options Online? Cheers
  5. We demo'd a touchscreen with our Head of Maths and we ended up removing it and putting the IWB back in. Horses for courses I guess, he much preferred the 4:3 aspect ratio of his old IWB over the 16:9 of the new tech, his argument was in maths you need top to bottom space not left to right.
  6. I've asked someone local in a company who I believe are a golf Microsoft Partner to find out who I can speak to in the education department at Microsoft who deals in licences. I'm not going to give up until I actually speak to someone, explain the issue and get a response that makes sense!
  7. Used the contact form on the MS Education Site to ask someone to contact me to discuss a licencing issue. I'll also give the number above a ring later. Perhaps they are n't aware of the issue
  8. REPLY! Dear Jeff, Thank you for contacting Microsoft’s Volume Licensing support. Please be informed, we act as web guides for the Volume Licensing Service Center (VLSC) portal and assist with access/navigation and post-purchase Volume Licensing contract management on the VLSC portal. We recommend to try checking with the Office 365 Sales team for options on purchasing the Office 365 ProPlus Device-based Subscription for Education, as the query is outside of our support scope. The Team can be contacted via phone under +44-(0)800 032 6417, option 1 and 3. Alternatively, please also try checking with your Distributor Ingram Micro UK. Thank you for your understanding and we wish you a pleasant day. With kind regards, Magdalena Microsoft Customer Service and Support Your service request number is 2001240020002106 in case you need it.
  9. You don't say....try following this link! https://officedba.azurewebsites.net/onboarding/signup.aspx I've moved on to raising a call with the "Volume Licensing support" team! Case is Case 2001240020002106 Open Value Subscription.
  10. MS response! Good Afternoon. This is Lyn again from Office 365 Support and this is regarding the ticket 18414510 about the Device-based Subscription (DBS) for Education. Summary of Case : You are right that the Office 365 ProPlus for Education (device) is an add-on license that is available only for education customers and is available only through Enrollment for Education Solutions (EES). As confirmed from this article : https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/deployoffice/device-based-licensing I also understand the frustration that other agreement such as CSP, OVS-ES etc were note part of it, but I'm hoping that Microsoft will have an option to have it in the future. Unfortunately, on our end we do not have further details we can provide aside from the article above. The only thing that we can suggest also was to move from OVS to EES agreement but I understand that its not a good option for you. Suggested Actions: I suggest since OVS is a Volume Licensing program, we suggest you contact the Volume Licensing support for further assistance via the link below: https://www.microsoft.com/Licensing/servicecenter/Help/Contact.aspx Again, we apologize that we only have limited details that we can provide about it. In case you have the time, I appreciate that this is one of our opportunity that we can improve the features to work with OVS and other agreement platform in the future and with that said, we would like to hear it and address it to our Microsoft developers. Kindly check Customer Feedback for Microsoft Office 365 - UserVoice and you can post these ideas. Thanks for your understanding.
  11. I've raised a support call with Microsoft to find out what school's are meant to do who want to deploy Office 365 ProPlus with DBS if they are on an OVS-ES rather than EES agreement. If anyone wants to do the same and link in my call reference it is : ‎#‎18414510‎ with title "Device-based Subscription (DBS) for Education"
  12. Can you point me to the guide you used to get the licence activation to work please? This post was suggesting to me it was no longer working / supported? http://www.edugeek.net/forums/office-software/211996-office-365-device-based-activation.html
  13. Fired an email off to Phoenixs. This was their response! Despite this if you have Office pro plus as part of your OVS agreement you should be able to then gain access to the on premise download for staff and students for O365 pro plus for free. Lines for OVS look like the below. OVS-ES Office 365 Professional Plus Open Faculty Shared Server All Language OLV Level E 1 Month Academic Additional Product Add On toOPP Monthly Subscription *Price per Month* (additional product licence)- Academic- Licence (Free) OVS-ES Office 365 Professional Plus Open Shared Server All Language OLV No Level 1 Month Academic - *Student Only* - STUUseBnft Monthly Subscription *Price per Month* (Additional Product Licence) - Academic – Licence (free on ratio of 1:15 w/ staff) Are they wrong? Or is this not the right add-on licence required?
  14. OK, what do you lose by going the Office 2019 route instead over a working Office 365 Pro Plus version?
  15. I've got : Office 365 A1 for faculty (and students)
  16. Response from my licencing guy at Capita! I suspected as much, unfortunately based on the full EES/Campus having a qualifying FTE (or Knowledge Workers as I believe they are now known under that scheme) of a 1000 even if you wanted to move to EES you are basically looking at around £48000 ex-vat per year just to cover the equivalent of your Desktop pack so I suspect your finance guys may not be too keen Full EES/Campus really only applies to large EDU institutions/Trust wide agreements but I suspect with most things Microsoft the O365 Device licence may eventually filter down to the OVSES
  17. OK. So whilst I am in "limbo" is there a way to setup Office 365 Pro Plus on Windows 1903 without the activation screens appearing for users? I've gone the test PC's registering with Azure AD now (hybrid)
  18. We've got over 100 users! Our current licence expires at the end of May.
  19. Limbo, great! Can we move from OVS-ES to EES?
  20. Interesting thread, but I'm still slightly confused. From what I understand, DBS (Device Based Subscription) is the latest model to activate C2R Office 365 ProPlus. From the article here : https://www.licensingschool.co.uk/licensing-blog/2019/08/19/office-365-proplus-device-based-subscription-for-education/ Microsoft announce an Office 365 ProPlus Device-based Subscription for Education, which means that educational institutions can now assign an Office 365 ProPlus licence to a device rather than a user – useful, of course, where shared devices are used. The experience for users is that those who DO have a User Subscription Licence including Office 365 ProPlus will be able to use the apps on the licensed device as well as their associated cloud services like OneDrive, while completely unlicensed users will be able to use the apps on the device and to save files locally. Using Office 365 ProPlus in this way doesn’t count towards one of the five allowed installations for a licensed user. This new, free, add-on licence is available from 16 August, 2019 for customers who have an Enrollment for Education Solutions (EES) agreement where they’ve covered all Education Qualified Users with Office 365 ProPlus or a suite that includes it. They’re then entitled to as many Device-based Subscriptions as the number of Education Qualified Users. The Device-based Subscription replaces the Lab and Library benefit that was the previous solution for institutions needing Office installed on a device basis, and note that this benefit remains for OVS-ES agreements where the new solution is not available. I've no idea why I would not be eligible for the above licence, but I've fired an email off to our man at Capita.
  21. Yea, I'm getting there! Sorted out Hybrid AD yesterday. Created a test Azure group this morning. But now I find I need a new licence - fired an email off to Capita who we use for licences to find out the next hoop to jump through!
  22. From what I'm reading I also need a new licence ! https://educationblog.microsoft.com/en-us/2019/08/attention-it-administrators-announcing-device-based-subscription-for-education/
  23. This is from my XML file when Office is installed : Should : be 0 & be 1
