  1. Should there be an apostrophe?
  2. Same issue on another PC with a different ADK installed. Updated the WIM, copied back to the MDT, imaged a PC, then it finds the 2019-12 CU again from our WSUS Not sure what else to try now... Perhaps installing the SSU, unmounting the image and going through the process again to install the CU. Otherwise I'm stuck
  3. Yes, KB4520724 from the screenshot also gets successfully installed. I'm going to try slip streaming in from another PC running a different version of the ADK.
  4. Files being slip-streamed in successfully.
  5. How can an update be installed AND ALSO be required???
  6. Since rolling out Windows 10 I've been able to take the WIM file from our WDS/MDT setup and slipstream in any major updates to save time when imaging PC's. The process has been: Take a backup of the WIM file from the MDT server (DeploymentShare\Operating Systems\etc) Copy the WIM file from the MDT server rename wim.wim Download any recent updates from Microsoft Update Catalog Then run the following commands to slipstream in any new updates dism /mount-wim /wimfile:D:WIM\wim.wim /mountdir:D:WIMTEMP /index:1 dism /image:D:WIMTEMP /Add-Package /PackagePath:D:updates dism /Unmount-Wim /MountDir:d:\WIMTEMP /commit Copy the wim file back to MDT. This week I carried out this process, attempting to slip-stream in the following file : windows10.0-kb4530689-x64_a7cbdbcf320f1c56dace2424dedd4d468cd46d3d.msu This is the 2019-12 Cumulative Update! The DISM process completes without error and the WIM file size grows. However, when I re-image a test and subsequent PC's they all still find the 2019-12 Cumulative Update and re-install it again. Can anyone advise what might be going wrong here?
  7. As I suspected. C£#P
  8. I'm struggling to see how to get a list of PC's out of SOLUS3 that have SIMS installed? Surely there must be a way!
  9. Just under 8Gb - 1350 students, 150 staff secondary school.
  10. My partner who works in a primary school recently received this email from their IT Support Provider! if you have a Virgin Broadband account and Virgin’s most recent router, the Super Hub 3. IT IS NOT POSSIBLE TO ACCESS ANY SCHOOL DATA REMOTELY/VIA VPN. & there is currently no way to work-around this issue Surely this can't be right?
  11. My plan is better. Move to another MIS asap!
  12. ?#@*&$ me! We tried setting the unit one last time using a mobile phone to send the pulsing symbol rather than a monitor and it's worked first time!!!!!
  13. OK I seem to be capturing traffic from the device, but it's getting mixed up with traffic from my own PC. Anyone know how to filter the traffic so it only shows from one device or IP?
  14. I've installed Fiddler, currently trying to work out how to set it up as an intercepting proxy so I can route another PC through mine to see how it works, before moving on to the Pitney Bowes device. OK, sorted that. Now to reset the Pitney Bowes unit to go through my PC as a proxy and see what I can capture!
  15. So, update from RM / SWGfL. They decided without consulting me to "tidy up" some of their firewall rules and decided this was one I did n't need!!! And a second update to say they were never put in place as we closed the call before it was implemented, so this may tie up with others on this that no firewall rules were needed to set up this damn franking machine. So now I'm left I guess trying to troubleshoot on the internal network why this device can't get out. I can ping the device, so I know the setup is giving it an IP address, but is there any way if a device is connected to my network that I can check any other details about it's config.
  16. Hi, Would I need a PC external to the network to test the ports? Thanks.
  17. From their website: network off red off amber lights Your light is blinking Off, then Amber, then Off, then Red What this means Your SmartLink device cannot connect through your network. Action required Have your IT department review the document SmartLink™ Installation Requirements and Connectivity Setup Guide to resolve your issues. Possible issues include: Your SmartLink device cannot connect through your network. The port that SmartLink uses to connect to the internet is blocked by your network firewall. Your Smartlink device connects with port 31314, 993, or 443 using TCP. Verify that your network allows traffic through these ports. The URL that the SmartLink uses to connect to the internet is blocked by your network firewall. Your SmartLink device connects to the address agent.sl.pb.com. Proxy address or port incorrect: Your SmartLink device cannot connect through your proxy. Validate that your proxy settings are correct and the proxy is available. Proxy Access credentials rejected: Your SmartLink device cannot connect to your proxy. Verify that you entered correct proxy credentials. Proxy Usernames and Passwords may be case sensitive, depending on your configuration.
  18. Thanks for all the replies. We're bypassing our smoothwall by entering the proxy as schoolname.proxy.gloucs.sch.uk : 8080 We can't check the firewall logs as the firewall is maintained by SWGfL / RM
  19. We're troubleshooting why our new Pitney Bowes (Franking Machine) network dongle won't connect out through our (SWGfL/RM) firewall. I was wondering if I could use Wireshark to look at what might be dropping the packets in case it was something internal. The device is given an IP address etc using a website where you input the data and then hold the unit up to a box on the monitor which flashes to send data to the unit, it's being given an IP address but is failing to talk back to their servers. There is no screen or interface to check that the other information such as default gateway, proxy, dns etc are being correctly read and stored on the unit
  20. We've started the process. Already seen Bromcom. iSams next week. For those that have moved away from SIMS.net - when did you do this? Did you all wait until your contract expired, which I presume would be March? Or did you ascertain the 'best' time for your school to migrate and just accept that you'd be paying for SIMS and not using it for a period of time? Has anyone got out of the contract earlier than giving a 3 month notice period? Is it possible to pay for SIMS.net monthly to give you greater flexibility to move?
  21. Hi, Looking for some reasonably priced (sub £50) bluetooth in-ear headphones for use at the driving range primarily. Anyone have any recommendations?
  22. Just spoke to my Data Manager who has checked the release notes and she is not fussed about it until 2020, so I'll do it on Monday the 23rd when everyone is off
  23. We run various policies with this I should add. PC's turn off at logon prompt if unused for ten minutes. Students are logged off if they are aware for their PC for over an hour. Staff PC's are put in sleep mode if they are left unattended for a period of time, same for admin PC's with different time lengths for each. Software pays for itself each year in electricity savings.
  24. Data Synergy. PowerMan software.
  25. That's two of us!
