I'm fairly new to OneDrive but can't seem to get even the sign-in to work on our latest Windows 10 EDU test build. I thought it was to do with removing built-in apps when creating a Windows 10 reference image, but I'm not convinced that's it as the application appears installed (presumably part of the OS) I thought it was to do with a group policy, but I've tried turning off all computer and user policies and I still can't sign in! When I click Add an account absolutely nothing happens. When I click Sign In the application closes and nothing happens! Any ideas?
-
Blimey - can I ask what your click costs are? We went to tender on this in early 2018 and out of 3 others we went with the cheapest!!
-
No that's an additional cost!

[ms office - 2019] Update Active Directory-based activation
kennysarmy posted a topic in Office Software
I've got Active Directory-based activation running grand for Windows 10 and Office 2016. I now want to throw Office 2019 in to the mix. Can I just run the Volume Activation Services on my domain controller and add in the new Key for Office 2019 OR do I need to follow the instructions here https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/deployoffice/vlactivation/activate-office-by-using-active-directory and download an Office Volume License Pack for Office 2019 and follow the instructions: Run the Office Volume License Pack executable file. This will install the Office Volume License Pack and opens the Volume Activation Tools wizard. Choose Next, and then on the Select Volume Activation Method page, choose Active Directory-Based Activation. Manage Activations Objects page On the Manage Activation Objects page, enter the KMS host key, which you got from the VLSC, and, optionally, give it a name. Then choose Next. On the Activate Product page, either activate the KMS host key online or by phone, and then follow the rest of the wizard instructions. When you're done, an Activation Succeeded page displays. Thanks. -

Sorted it. -
Can't seem to work this one out! I've downloaded the ODT (Office 2019 Deployment Tool 16.0.11617.33601) and used the online Office Customization Tool (https://config.office.com/officeSettings/) to create an XML for my install which I've downloaded. Followed the instructions here https://docs.microsoft.com/en-gb/DeployOffice/office2019/deploy I've run the command setup /download configuration.xml which has created the installation files in the relevant directory. For me this is V:\Office2019 When running this command to then install Office 2019 : setup /configure configuration.xml I get this error! I am connected to the Internet! I've tried some reboots but it does n't want to play ball. Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

But if you want to make use of MS's Device Based Subscriptions you will need EES as for some reason you can't add DBS to OVS-ES - see a longer thread on this forum about this!

[ms office - o365] office 365 or office 2016

[email protected] That's the guy from MS I've been emailing. I've not had any contact from him since the 18th Feb so I thought I'd post his address here so anyone else waiting for answers can also bombard him with questions to see if you get any further! -
[sims] Script to add student email addresses in to SIMS.net
kennysarmy replied to kennysarmy's topic in MIS Systems
It's inside the 3.62.669 to 3.63.999 23212 Patch.ZIP file. But not sure you need to know that. I followed the instructions here: https://faq.scomis.org/wp-content/uploads/2017/12/BulkImport.pdf But the process did not work, I'm still trying to arrange a remote session with SIMS to look in to why - apparently I was n't the only Gloucestershire school last summer to have this fail on them! -

Latest reply from Microsoft via our channel supplier! As we discussed before, Device based Subscription for Office 365 ProPlus is available for EES customer only at this moment. This requires devices to be licensed with the proper SKU available for EES customers. I have also shared with you the Microsoft Product Terms February 2020 where there is information for Lab devices and Extended Use Rights for Office 365 ProPlus. For the OVS, OVS-ES customers the recommended method is to implement Shared Computer Activation for Office 365 ProPlus on their shared devices. This was also mentioned several times in our communications. -
I've made some progress. I've connected the switch to the laptop & the laptop to the internet via my phone as a hot spot. I can logon to the UniFi Controller application and have managed to update the firmware of the switch. It seems to have a default IP address of 192.168.1.20 I want to change this and I don't need to set a Gateway address as this is a private CCTV network with no required internet access. When I try and set the IP without a GW I get a warning
-
Sorry if I've confused you, CCTV cameras are all setup HIKVision - I just need to connect them to this switch, which I'd like to give an IP address to. Currently can't see how to do that? In the past I just connect the switch to the LAN (DHCP) - work out which IP has been assigned and then logon via a browser to change the IP.
-
We have a separate CCTV network and in each area of the school CCTV cameras are plugged in to U EdgeSwitch8's. Over half-term we added some extra cameras and in one part of the network an 8 port switch is not enough. I ordered and have had delivered a Ubiquiti UniFiSwitch 16 Port Managed PoE+ Gigabit Switch. I've plugged it in to our main network with the thought it would pick up an IP address via DHCP which would then allow me to use a browser to change the IP address, SM and GW. It is appearing on DHCP and is being given an IP address but I cannot ping or connect to it. On reading of the quick start guide it mentions needing some software called "UniFi Network Controller 5.12.35 for Windows" so I've downloaded this on to a laptop and attempted to logon using an account we've just created. With the laptop on both our fixed and wireless LAN and using both the smoothwall as our normal proxy and bypassing it (but still going through the SWGfL) I cannot logon. If I create a hotspot with my phone and connect the laptop up I can logon! After logging on it says it cannot find any devices - which I guess is fair enough as the "network is just the laptop and my phone! Questions! Could something on the SWGfL be blocking my logon to the UniFi software? If I was to unblock this can I then change the IP address of the switch to our separate CCTV network details?

kennysarmy replied to lionsl2005's topic in Office Software
RESPONSE! Jeff My sincere apologies for the delay. The currently options available to you are as follows: To confirm that Office 365 ProPlus Device-based Subscription for Education is only available through EES and will not be available through CSP. For more information https://educationblog.microsoft.com/en-us/2019/08/attention-it-administrators-announcing-device-based-subscription-for-education/ Lab and Library use is available for O365 A3/A5: Free Training for Network Managers and IT staff - https://tablet-academy.com/microsoft-365-technical-roadshow/ Any queries and deployment support, please contact EduStore - [email protected] @Morgan, Richard our Edu Partner Concierge Support - [email protected] The above includes OVS-ES. Office 365 Pro Plus Device Based Subscription licensing was never introduced for OVS-ES. This always was – just for EES. If you wants to have O365 Proplus to his Shared Devices (labs), - https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/deployoffice/overview-of-shared-computer-activation-for-office-365-proplus Kind regards Paul -

I have a text file of student computers. I've found some powershell that let's me see which are on and which are off. The code is : GC D:\scripts\remotesoftware\PupilComputers.txt | %{ If (Test-Connection $_ -Quiet -Count 2){ Write-Host "$_ is UP" -b Green } Else{ Write-Host "$_ is Down" -b Red } } Can anyone help me adapt this so that the hosts which are ping-able are added to a new TXT file?
-
Haha - someone once changed our name to something very amusing! Good old Google.
