Why not just use Remote Desktop internally ? Can you setup a VPN to connect internally ? What about TeamViewer are you allowed to use that ?

TeamViewer ? I have used VNC in the past but having to port forward etc for outside access is a pain. Team Viewer is a great tool. Internally I use RDP.

Try DeltaCopy It uses Rsync which is free. DeltaCopy - Rsync for Windows It does sometimes complain about filenames being too long but you can replace the files within in Delta Copy - theres a how to on the net somewhere and it fixes the problem. Windows Server Backup is a good option, and free as it comes with the OS... Bare Metal is a pretty good option. Open source your looking for more an imaging solution like fog or clonezilla.

looks like DNS settings to me... try using 8.8.8.8. on the system network settings. See if you can ping the repos.

Plugging them directly into the SAN is a good idea if the Interfaces are there.

Hi @lholland421 - have you installed all the latest updates for 2012 R2 ? I havent come across this issue personally and have a lot of 2012 R2 servers out in the wild... I wouldn't recommend going back to 2008.

I'm quite lucky, I get 200meg + and dont get throttled on torrents (not that I download them anyway)!

and it could be that most ISP's nowadays will throttle torrents.... however my mum is with SkyBB and she gets less than 1meg constant. Not too far away from the exchange but she does live in a flat so cable runs will be longer. Sky have offered her Fiber for a cut down price because of the problems shes had - so maybe ask them whether fiber is available to you.

Symantec Ghost - I believe you can get it on a trial. I bought this product years ago and still use it now. Good old Ghost.

Sounds like a Router/DNS Issue, try setting the DNS on the client to 8.8.8.8 - just to test.

Although I have used: Slim Drivers: driverupdate.net its good, has no nag screens and installs the driver for you. Couldnt be easier.

+1 for DriverPack - Being in a computer shop and reloading hundreds of PC's a week.... its a handy tool.
