Good morning all, I hope you've all risen well! I am just wondering really how many of you 'Skip' gears when appropriate when driving ? Generally, I have 2 routes to work - one route is a 40 and one is a dual carriageway national speed limit. Upon leaving my house through 30 and 40 speed limits my car barely sees 2nd and 5th gear. Where possible I go from 1st to 3rd, and if I do go into 2nd I normally go into 4th as soon as I can if road conditions etc allow, this is usually typical for the 30 and 40 mph roads however on the 40 I can now and again get 5th. Does anyone else skip gears and do you see a benefit in doing so ?

Hi all, Building a server for A client with the above motherboard, Server 2012 (r2) and 8.1 will not work on this board apparently because its not supported by the BIOS. I've tried everything I know to try and workaround this. I need to get this system in place A.S.A.P - apparently there's a BETA BIOS that I need. Anyone here got that BIOS ? Have contacted Supermicro and awaiting a reply but need this system in place... So thought I'd ask on here if anyone has got it!? Nope, we just sell it to customers over the internet.

We have a fair few customers on our own self hosted cloud running on Owncloud. We use CentOS servers. Nice and easy.

Why not just use both connections and just load balance between the 2 ? Anyone can use either connection but you can specify which gateway people can use if you want.

I believe it's RDS Gateway in server 2012.... Terminal Services in previous versions. Thanks all.... will let you know what we go with.

My employer isnt being a cheapskate, its not about that... It's just something Im looking into - for the amount of clients we manage and the price we pay for the remote support tools i thought we could possibly save some moola somewhere... perhaps this is not the case

Ahhhhh thats the problem, would need it to be able to interact with the user.... Our usual scenario is a user demonstrating nay problems to us that they might be having. TSG or RDG does look good though.. handy but not for this im afraid! Good info though.

Hows it managed ? Can other Admins login and see what we can Remote into ? Great Idea, but I think I may need a central console to easily manage clients by group or company name.

OK but is this for servers ? - I need to access Internal PC's too. Mainly for supporting users. Interesting...... Liking the look of TSG...

TeamViewer is good but I'd need to pay for it... Problem with Terminal Services is not all of our clients have Servers that will run TS either the version of Server (Generally SBS) or licensing... And with TS wouldn't I need to be opening up ports ? Its not just servers I Need access to but PC's too.

Hi all, Having switched from LogMeIn to another paid for product (due to cost mainly), I'm wondering if there is something out there that is open source that would serve a similar purpose. Let me explain, I've tried many opensource products....They mainly run on VNC or RDP clients which is fine but when I have a possible 50-60 clients to access at a company to open that many ports open on the router A) massive lists of ports open on routers and B) large attack surface. Really, I need something that would use it's own client like LogMeIn or TeamViewer. So far the best product I've come across is Guacamole, however needs RDP opening as far as I can tell for it to connect... and MeshCentral... couldn't get that working / functioning properly on Server 2012 R2. Anyone any Ideas ? Thanks all in Advance !

MeshCentral looks really good wish I could get this to work as it would be perfect for our needs... Its a bit of a monster though... works one minute and then not the next!

I did this, in a suite of 50 odd machines, the OS was Linux, Fedora to be precise which auto-logged into a shell and executed XRDP into an MS RDP Server.
