Hi all, I have an exchange 2007 server that I need to export information from, Email Addresses, Names, etc. Anyone know where to start ? Ta in advance.

You've said your using Ghost ... Why not stick with Ghost ? if you've got it you've already paid for it ? Ghost is as good as anything, Ghost is brilliant.

Yep I agree with @mowgli82 - if you want to do a remove of any RM CC platform from 2.3 to 4 - you need to do a reinstall of the OS. No other way to do it - and even if you did the OS will be very messy.

Have you done a Virus Scan ?

I'd start afresh, who knows what else has been deleted / disabled. Start new, build a new domain and migrate everyone over.

You cant go far wrong with HP, although @altreed could you use your HP's just at the core and the netgears at the edge of the network for end devices ?

I know of rather a few businesses still running 2003 and 2003 SBS - including Exchange 03. Scary. They don't want to upgrade either!

Again its for lab purposes and also part production too. Gigabit on every port handy too. Solid switches, Id quite happily have them in production, easy to configure and last forever! Yes, USB to Serial then set Putty to COM - look in Device Manager for the number of COM port its installed under for example COM1. So just use COM1 on putty.

I did do this for a college once in their Programming lab, if you logged in you'd have your home drive mounted to the desktop, like a roaming profile for windows you could go to any Linux machine login and have your home drive. However, this was a differnet system to the Windows network roaming profile, it was a separate thing entirely. The way it worked was there was A central CentOS server which hosted Samba shares, these would be used as home directories for logged on users. Bash Script would start wen the user logged in. Mounted the home drives. Home drives / folders wouldn't be attached to a username as there was usually a change of groups every 3 - 6 months or so, you'd log in as UserA and you could log onto any Linux PC (Fedora Usually) and get the home drive for User A. And So on. We had a periodic script that ran with Cron that would clean out the home drives after the user had left. Its been a long time since I did this. A very long time. The server was based on CentOS 5.4 and PC's where Fedora 6 - I believe they ran as thin clients from LTSP so nothing was actually on the PC's. You may want to join the Ubuntu machines to the Windows Domain if you havent already done so, there's a nice GUI program for it too. The program is called Likewise-Open - although I think its been renamed but if you search Google then you can find it. Once joined you just need to script it so that when a user logs in it mounts drives etc. Is this a similar thing to what you want to achieve ? http://www.powerbrokeropen.org/

Hi, Installed A Raid card last night and seemed to work fine, only a 2 port so now need to get hold of another 2 port or 4 port RAID card that will be compatible with Server 2012. Thanks for all of your help. PS - if anyone has one that works on 2012 you want rid of... Let me know

Yeah might have to contact them, 20110-11 I think it was purchased. Dont have the receipt anymore. If I Can find a link to get in touch with them I think I might, although I kept getting asked for serial numbers. Which is on the back of the board lol.

Thanks for that, however my board was the one that was shipped as a replacement board to the B2 version, I have the B3 which is reported to not have the bug - This is why Asus shipped the B3 as a replacement. Weird!! Im presuming now a fault with the controller.

I presume if I whack a RAID card in that should work shouldn't it ? I could even put a couple of 4 port cards in and disable the sata 3 controller ?

Not that I can see, at the moment im only playing about with things in the BIOS. BIOS reports that drives are plugged into sata 6, but if i plug those drives into any sata 3 ports it reports as no drives connected. I have tried the ports in IDE Compatible mode, ports runs off of two controllers. Sata 3 and sata 6 both off different controllers. Ive had both set to IDe compatible and nothing. Same result on AHCI and RAID. Its a right pain. Cant afford a new board really so need to get this working somehow!!

Yep, tried all of that. If I plug in the drives to the Sata 6 ports they work. Then back to Sata 3 and nothing. The main hard drive is in the sata 6 and works, system boots up. Switch it to sata 3 and the drive isnt recognized as being connected to the sata 3 ports. Have tried all manner of drives new and old and also DVD drives. Problem is, I want to use this board in a storage box but 2 sata ports isnt enough. Might have to try a RAID card....?
