  1. I've used http://www.jpsltech.co.uk/ for AV install work before and have been happy with the quality of their work. They've worked with us to get the right equipment for our needs rather than just specifiying things way over the top and out of budget. We're a secondary school, but I've seen examples of their work they've done in other primaries.
  2. We got HPC Laser to service our laser cutter. They were pretty reasonable, and being in Elland the mileage costs weren't bad either. laser engraving machines laser cutting machines, laser engraving machines laser cutting machines
  3. Are your APs able to access the firmware file from Ubiquiti directly? With the newer controller, firmware is no longer bundled so each device will reach out to the UBNT servers to download it IIRC. On the controller, under maintenance, towards the bottom there is a section where you can download the firmwares to your controller, then the devices will use this version rather than every device downloading a copy from Ubiquiti.
  4. I use JPSL for replacement Casio remotes. Always seem to be reasonably priced for a genuine Casio remote.
  5. I've got an Asrock H61M-DGS board spare. Only 2 RAM slots though. Would it be of use?
  6. We've got quite a lot installed across our site over the last 5 years. Not had any issues with them. We've got a mix of the XJ-M Signature series, the newer Core models and one of the 4000 lumen Pro models in one of our smaller halls. I'd say that the colours on the new Core range of projectors are better than the old XJ-A/M series projectors. Would be interested to know if anybody has installed the new 4k 5000 lumen large venue one in a school hall Large Venue Series | Projectors | Products | CASIO
  7. Had a similar issue a couple of weeks ago with Excel 2016 after KB4011050 was installed. Black lines would appear below rows after hitting return. KB4011165 fixes the issue.
  8. We use Ubiquiti mPorts (https://www.ubnt.com/mfi/mport/) for controlling some things (not lights, but they could do). In the central controller you can configure rules/schedules for turning things off/on. When looking into this system I tried to find alternatives but struggled to find other reasonably priced systems that were also simple enough to program by ourselves.
  9. Our outdoor lighting is just done on photocells and timeclocks.
  10. Fair enough, I guess nobody got fired for buying Cisco. Just thought a £300 router and £400 for the Ubiquiti Broadband Routing & Switching Specialist Training might be better value. We've got a couple of Cisco routers sat gathering dust as apparently neither of them are powerful enough for a gigabit connection. Is there an easy way to find out what speed connections they can support?
  11. Screw on base and gooseneck? https://www.amazon.co.uk/VisioSound-Microphone-Gooseneck-Mounting-Flange/dp/B00TZXS7OY/ref=sr_1_2?s=musical-instruments&ie=UTF8&qid=1505827600&sr=1-2 https://www.amazon.co.uk/VisioSound-30cm-Flexible-Microphone-Gooseneck/dp/B00UAJBQS6/ref=pd_bxgy_267_2?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=V5WY2QSZ5Y0M8X17TJSV or a clamp if you can't screw: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Konig-Meyer-23700-300-55-Table-Thread/dp/B000NU2V7W/ref=sr_1_2?s=musical-instruments&ie=UTF8&qid=1505827532&sr=1-2 (and thread adapter: https://www.amazon.co.uk/VisioSound-Microphone-Stand-Thread-Adaptor/dp/B00OCN7Z5Y/ref=pd_bxgy_267_2?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=WGPQDMQ1W5Q0YYV4E2CK )
  12. Would something from the likes of Ubiquiti be suitable? Even the cheapest router in their EdgeRouter lineup can handle speeds over 900Mbps.
  13. Yeah, a regular 5v USB power supply should be fine.
  14. Something like the product @Boredguy linked to should work
  15. BNC is just a type of connector. It could be used for different types of video signal, network etc.. Might help if you let us know what the piece of equipment is that is outputting over BNC. We use a cable like this to connect a second VGA input to our main hall projector https://www.amazon.co.uk/StarTech-com-Coax-HD15-Monitor-Cable/dp/B000067SM6/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1504783948&sr=8-5
  16. We replaced our SAN with a Quantum QXS box from Stone Computers, it's got a mix of 10k SAS and SSD for fast cache. Happy with the performance so far. Had a quote from Nimble storage also but it was much more more expensive!
  17. Make sure that the green speaker cable is plugged in to the port on the back of the motherboard. There's also a little switch in the cave to turn the speakers on/off.
  18. Give @ICTDirect_Dave a call http://ict-direct.co.uk/ they have all sorts of spares for HP/Dell servers.
  19. Could you explain a little more about the DNS fix? We had one but Logitech just gave us credit to purchase some overpriced Logitech equipment from their store that came to the value of the Skype TV Cam.

  21. Sad face because some people just want something a little more sensible, like Mac Mini or Mac Pro form factor. No need for a 27" 5k display if it's to go in a rack..
  22. Not a Mac Pro, just an iMac Pro..
  23. If you're using the Android backup feature then they should already be backed up on your Google account. When you sign in on your new device they should all restore. https://support.google.com/android-one/answer/2819582?hl=en-GB
  24. I've used JPSL Technical Services for various installs. Always very neat installations. They're based in Staffordshire.
