actually scratch that - I got another error message as I am not using SQL - only Access - - - Updated - - - Error Problem ID XXX was not found in the dtabase
-
duh!! I knew it would be something simple. Thanks. Still get the error not found when searching on a ticket number
-
Just setup the Liberum Helpdesk at another school - I like it - it is plain and simple and relatively customisable. However I cant get search to work. It is configured to use the Access MDB but searching for a ticket number or a knowledge base comes up with either an error or nothing. its while since I setup the last one and I have forgotten if I have missed something. Anyone that point me in the correct path to make search work? Thanks!

Wouldn't touch the sonic wall - just don't like it at all! I will have another look at the 3650 and see what i can get it for. -

Thanks - the 3650 is around £3K? I would be better looking at a MX250 for that money, yes? Looking to spend around £1500 and need to create a VPN, NAT/Firewall rules and maybe block a few websites at top end. We use a Smoothwall for general filtering and so far it is great. -
We are about to increase our Internet connection to 300/1000 As such my Cisco 1841 wont cope as it is only 100Mbs A meraki MX appliance would be great but i simply can't justify the price even for one of the wee MX84 versions. It has been suggested i look at a Draytek 2960 but i just feel i need / would like something that has the power of a Cisco. Any thoughts gratefully appreciated!

WDS, Windows 10 and creating the Distribution Share
Brave_heart replied to Brave_heart's topic in O/S Deployment
Sussed it! You will need the Win 10 ADK form here https://developer.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/hardware/windows-assessment-deployment-kit And the 1703 version of win 10 takes a while but eventually sets up and allows you to create the catalog file. -

Fair, but i like the simplicity of creating an image with all relevant software and then being able to sweep that out pretty quickly to a large number of machines! -

yes, i did uninstall and also setup on a new server too! Will MDT allow me to image machines etc just like WDS? -
I have a simple WDS server, running on Win2012R2. It has hosted W7 images successfully for 3 years now. Creating the distribution share was easy enough, as was the unattended xml files etc. Creating the catalog for the W7 and W8 images was straightforward. I am now wanting to image W10 machines and it is very frustrating! It has imaged the machines happily but refuses to create the catalog file. The error I get is; This application requires version 6.3.9600.16384 of the Windows ADK.Install this version to correct the problem I have tried this on different machines, all servers 2012r2, i have tried the different versions of the ADK and all to no avail. can i use my original robe and unattended xmls? How on earth do i create the Win10 catalog? Help!!

Sonic or Smoothwall
Brave_heart replied to Brave_heart's topic in Internet Related/Filtering/Firewall
Thanks everyone - this has clarified my thoughts. To summarise - smoothwall is excellent for filtering and the product team are updating the paper work to demonstrate the KCSIE stuff. Sonicwall is a great firewall but not so hot on the filtering side. Reality is that we should have both a firewall and filtering system in place. -

So does the smoothwall 'fail' KCSIE requirements? -

Thanks everyone - this has confirmed my own thoughts. -
Personally i am a fan of Smoothwall but i have one school using Sonic. Anyone offer me some views on either? I don't like the sonic unit form what i can see so far but i am open to be persuaded!
