  1. This seems very odd to me. Can you drop me a PM, I have some contacts in swgfl. As the contracts have to be renewed each year, it figures some won't and then service is terminated. You have given notice of non renewal, so I don't see the problem
  2. Echoing others here really...it can take a bit of getting your head around it but its worth it. Its much more set and leave since there are now auto approval, which you had to use wsus for.
  3. Success...thread derailed! @Ric @Domino. Hehe
  4. Pushing it via sccm over the half term... as other say...msi, gotcha make sure framework deployed first
  5. And then run away quickly for dissing a shiny apple toy..... lol
  6. Waiting for the "I broke my sim" thread...
  7. Install newest versions of Adobe, Office and do their updates. The run your SIMs install as normal from SIMsInst is what I do.
  8. Not an Office 365 user - but @EduTech @apearce are good sources of info. May also be worth a support call if having issues
  9. Ah yes....drumstick rage.....
  10. Afaik RM ate moving easimail to office365 in the future so they may have a migration kit?
  11. Congratulations....its edu baby season
  12. If you have an intranet, that's works well too...we've also added current system status and planned maintenance there tok
  13. I found sometimes the old SIMS support bits dont install properly, so try running simsinfrastructure again... That sorted mine out last time...
  14. Nothing here as expected... well except a nice layer of blooming hard ice which needed scrapping
  15. That's good news then. You will need to make a cmd script file which runs this with the /s parameters, which is the control for silent. "C:\Program Files\Spark\uninstall.exe" /s should do the trick. On a machine without the software, this will error out. You could tidy this up with an ifexist...but that might be overkill here.
  16. Yep, as per usual...the south west is missing out again lol. Bit nippy down here now but probably nothing
  17. Can you have a look on the machine in its program files folder and see if it has its own inbuilt uninstall, if not, will try and find its guid code for an msiexec uninstall for you
  18. Eying up meraki here too for when I have those shiny devices . I think there is a centrify client too, and trying to remember the great find that was found at BETT?
  19. Only really works well if you deployed it that way and have the install / uninstall programs created. Best way is to try to script the silent running of the uninstall program from the local machine's program files folder (a nice if exists then script would work well), else it could be done with the msiexec program guid - but this is a bit more tricky
  20. Blooming heck @vikpaw you really went to town on that reply . Efficiency
  21. As with everything - it depends how you want to use it. If you want a high density, with high numbers of concurrent devices, with high throughput - then aggregating connections back to your cabled network by having a high number of aps with their broadcase strength turned down is actually quite a good and scalable solution. This is not far off what Im doing. There are lots of satisfied Ruckus customers on here, as well as many other vendors. Lets not turn this thread into a manufacturer vs manufacturer thread. If you want a good comparison between performance of vendor products, there was a study done by a member and there is a Toms Hardware Guide report somewhere too. The best thing to do would be to get trial kit on site though to test which works best in your environment
  22. Here is a great resource on getting a Remote Desktop system up and running... Configuring Windows 2008 R2 Remote Desktop Farm with Connection Broker « Aaron Walrath – Another IT Guy's Meanderings Ive also blogged about this a bit myself, EduGeek.net - TheScarfedOne - Blogs
  23. How about asking their support to install the tools for you, thus not compromising their "secrets"; and you get what you want?
