Ive just got my own gateway set up and working for my rds farm...so not quite the same setup as yours. Rather than personal desktops - I have a shared farm, where all users will be distributed across it. My job tomorrow is to get the web access part updated to match...it has the "apps" published (just the office apps and "remote desktop") to prove in concept it works. Now, it works internally, but I need to update the "Remote App" settings on each server in the farm to give it the gateway settings so it will use that. As I understand it, you need to use your public name, and then set the Bypass on internal - so that it doesnt nerf your internal setup. Im hoping this, as the internal farm (it was primarily set up for this) is heavily used by my thin client estate!! I will let you know tomorrow. Im also going to update my blog with all the past 2 days work on it too....

Mine is like @plexer it is likely to be the cat global addresses through tmg. That's what tripped me up before.

Moved from an unmanaged riff raff of Dell, Hp, Netgear and SMC to Juniper throughout, installed by @Net-Ctrl. Works like a charm. Having to refresh my memory on switch programming and vlans, but all is good. All cabs will have ups in as well, as soon as the refurb of the building is finished.

I would look for more than 16gb ram if you are going to use hyper v to host sql etc. My hosts have 128gb, but they are hosting lots of servers. Check the requirements on the Microsoft website

A few years back I had a app that you could install on any Windows machine to remotely monitor other machines. It would display in a lovely animation, CPU, ram, HDD; and rotate round a number of machines. Can't remember for tho life of me what it was.... Not web based, actual install, and free.... HELP!

Been running SCCM for years now...and 2012 is much easier to use and configure than 2007. For the ease of managing machines, their builds, software and av...fits the ticket nicely. They do also do an "essentials version" for smaller networks and the online cloud version too (minus some features, but same principal)

Yes is the answer. It's all down to how you structure your areas...which are sharepoint areas incidentally. I have an area leaders section where the people with the right group membership can access and add files as needed.
