Hi Guys, We have an issue with o365 in outlook that has only recently started in the last month or so and I feel like beating my head against the wall trying to solve the issue. We have o365 configured in Outlook 2016 and all is well it works a treat including calendar etc, but just recently it can be working fine then all of a sudden it will prompt for credentials for no apparent reason ??? you can enter your credentials and some time later it might pop up again or it might not. I have tried removing the details in credentials manager (but to no avail even though the logon password may not have been changed) I have re-installed the application and on one PC it might come back and the other it might not ?? Deleted the users profile and started again and once again it might re occur it might not It just seems so random with no obvious reason as to why it's happening, if anyone can help resolve this issue I will be forever in your debt. Cheers Stan

Hi Wilderbeest, thanks for the info but I have sent the Ruckus equipment back now I was quite disappointed with it to be honest had all sorts of problems with the older laptops so back it went, I then decided to reconfigure the crappy En-Genius solution that the school already had and the laptops all log on first go its difficult to understand how a system that costs less than £1000 can appear to work better than one that costs 10 times that.

Could somebody please explain EES licencing to me, I have had a quote from Pheonix Software for a 3 year agreement and was told it includes all OS with the exception of SQL, I was also told that it does not include Cals. I was then informed that if I paid my subscription each year for the 3 years then at the end of it I wanted to cancel I could come out of the agreement at no extra charge. I then got a quote from another company who said the EES agreement does include Cals and if you leave at the end of the agreement you then have to pay for all the licences you have used. If I don’t have to pay anything other than the agreement price each year this will work out good for us, if there is an additional cost after the agreement has ended then we might as well just purchase the licences as and when required.

Smoothwall VPN
staningrimsby replied to staningrimsby's topic in Internet Related/Filtering/Firewall
I got it through the YHFGL they are looking into it for me so hopefully will know soon, as for the LEA they don't do anything for us they sent us an email last week and in not so many words was as follows "there will no longer be any support to schools from 8th April 2013". -
After much deliberation as to which web filtering to use I have decided on Smoothwall UTM 1000, the deal we got offered today was just to good to turn down, I decided to go for the UTM 1000 as it can then also replace our existing Cisco ASA 5505 firewall at the same time. I do have one question though at the moment we had to pay for a licence for up 25 concurrent VPN connections with the Cisco, can anybody please tell me if it’s the same principle for smoothwall i.e. require additional licences to create the concurrent VPN’s ?? Cheers Stan.

Thanks everyone, I am hoping to get a final budget figure this week so will then know what I have got to work with.

We do have a Dell Premier accounts for the school, but I have noticed that the prices on the Dell systems seem to be going up lately and that's what has got me looking at other systems.

Thanks for that I will give them a look and see what price they come in at.

Does anybody use all in one pc's within there school ?? I am looking into replacing the KS2 IT Suite as we currently have Dell Optiplex 755's they are around 5 years old and could really do with replacing. Due to the way the suite was designed years ago there is no room for a tower unit on the desk and if its placed underneath the younger children sit there kicking it, so I thought I would look at the all-in-one option. Obviously due to financial constraints we can’t afford to buy top of the range but I do want the best we can get. Has anyone used them or got any suggestions as I think these would be ideal for school, not really botherd weather its a touch screen or not.

Thank for the info guys, I am still looking at the web filtering options and have the YHGFL coming to see me on Tuesday to discuss Smoothwall, also going to look at Meraki's solution as well next week.
