Proposal to increase Motorway speed limit
aerospacemango replied to laserblazer's topic in General Chat
Ever since I was left my late-Father's Jeep Grand Cherokee, I've found that my comfortable speed is just around the speed limit, whatever road I'm on. There's something to be said for having a 4x4, in the countryside (where they belong) with a massive 4l engine. The LPG conversion has done it the world of good, too! Good old Dad! -
Proposal to increase Motorway speed limit

Well said, that person!!! It really does my head in that people seem to think that they can sit in the middle lane, for mile after mile, and not pull in. These people should be taken off the road until they can drive properly. Although there's nothing like the smug feeling of pulling past them, and then immediately pulling into the inside lane, with the thought.... "HA! See? That's how you drive!" Going through your head! *When I say immediately.....I don't mean cutting them up....I mean pulling in, at a proper distance, and then pulling over to the inside lane! Thought that was worth pointing out!!* -
Unrelated fact..... Did you know that there are 5 times as many Chinese people, learning English in China, as there are living in the Uk???
-
PowerSave.rar This should hold everything that you need. It is completely free to Educational establishments.
-
Funny, but I had a report of this happening to one of our Finance Offices PC's. I put "powersave" by the Univ of Liverpool on it, and had no word back that it's still happening.

neph has been on QI quibbles, then!!!

Taken from Yahoo answers....and if a med student is wrong, then where does that leave the rest of us? Best Answer - Chosen by Asker well, to be technical, the muscles aren't actually in the fingers. all of the muscles that move your fingers are in your hands and forearms. they have long tendons that extend down into the fingers and attach at different points above and below the joints. so, no, you don't actually have muscles in your fingers. Source(s): m.d. student. i've dissected a human hand.
-
You flex your fingers with the muscles in your hand! "One could say that there are actually thousands of muscles in each finger, if you include the tiny muscles that cause your hairs to stand up, or your blood vessels to contract. " From the QI/quibbles page! Pointing the Finger at QI - The Qibble Blog I was going to de-cry the fact too...until I read further! Nephilims fact is correct!

From the muscles in your forearm

Love, Agony Uncle Like that's EVER gonna happen! In fact....we could start a "What's the most embarrassing defeat you've suffered at the hands of a child" thread! Tech Guy can go first !!! :D:D

Go for PES 2011...or whatever it is these days, and give her a sound 11-0 thrashing! That's the best way!

Or, perhaps, a "policeman saying "nothing to see here""

There really should be an emoticon for "tumbleweed rolls across the website" LOL!!!

It's also worth pointing out that just because it's "Not-for-Profit" doesn't mean he cannot take a wage. How else do charities exist??? I would be surprised if his wages HAD allowed him to pay that much bail....but that's where actors, friends and journos come into it.
-
I believe, but am far from certain, that the bail was posted by a mixture of friends, journos and actors. He was then whisked away to Bungay or Beccles, or somewhere in Norfolk. That is almost a fate worse than death!!!
-
I think he should be extradited, personally. If he has nothing to fear from the charges, then all this talk of conspiracy theory is just bull. However, he should be able to afford the best lawyers, to pick apart the prosecution case.....If there is no truth. If there IS truth in the allegations, then I think he deserves to do time, just like any other convicted person.

"Father and First-Born Son ONLY" Hmmmm....those were the days!

When you consider how many PC's have been bricked by updates, then it really is no surprise is it? I think I'll stick to Android!

Hard choices ... But surely the problems then become about safeguarding? Are their laptops/phones going through your web filter? If not, then what about undesirable content? Or Games? As much as we like students to bring their own laptops in, and go onto the student WLAN, we still have to keep some control on what they do. If I could show you some of the requests that have come through our system........ Make your skin crawl!!! -

That's pretty much the same story for me! That was my argument too! He seemed to be tarring everyone in education with the same, very broad, brush! Our biggest problem is moving over to Office 2007. It is fine on the student side of things, but on the staff side...... Well, we're slightly hamstrung by aging developers who do not want to move their databases over to 2007, much less 2010. This is proper "head in the sand"! I will continue to push out W7 onto any desktop (for students) that can take it, and also onto any staff laptop that I can. Any problems that DO come up.....A quick trip to the tech forum soon sorts it out! -
A pretty impressive, interactive, cake!

For my College, we've had W7 and Office 2007 installed on Staff laptops for 18months, and a steady roll-out over the student domain, over the last year or so. -
