  1. Just seen this about WDS. This time last year, with 6 months ICT exp, I looked into the possibility of using WDS. I found that it was pretty straightforward, but then I had no exp of Ghost, so that may be very easy to use. I found this site was very helpful..... Augusto Alvarez But, you have to be careful, as depending on your build, you could end up inserting missing drivers by script. (And for a newbie like me, that WAS pretty daunting!)
  2. Hi all, My name is Andy and I'm an ICT Technician at Otley College in Suffolk. I've been here about 18months, after 18 years in Casinos, so a big switch of career! Loving the job, but not so much the students!!! Many questions pre-occupy my mind, like.... Why DO students feel the need to visit Facebook during a lesson?.... What do they do with all the mice they steal?...... Why do the holidays have to end?..... And my current favourite..... What will be the reaction when they find out about all the things they now cannot do, thanks to me!!!! Looking forward to reading through as many posts as I get time to! Mango
  3. Hi all, Is there a way to change the automated message in GPO? I have shut out Firefox, and want users to use IE only. This is due to proxy server settings not being taken up by Firefox. Now that it is done, the system automatically shows a message saying that Firefox is unavailable. I would like it to say that only IE is available to browse with,, but cannot find where to do this. Any help is gratefully received! Mango
  4. Totally invaluable! This will stop the little blighters from bypassing our Sophos proxy box!!!!
  5. Hi guys, Just thought I'd join up so that I could post my thanks for this thread. I'm a techy geek in Suffolk, who's been having trouble with students using Firefox, when I want them to use IE! This is all due to proxy server being installed. Once I got the GPO for that sorted, I became aware that they could use Portable from USB. Having spent hours looking through threads for pushing through a drive letter, and closing that off, I came across this, and the solution was excellent for what we wanted. I take my hat off to you guys.....Thanks so much, and I'll be back!!
