  1. Ok, so we've been through the script with a fine toothcomb, and it seems to be something to do with the passwordchange date, and how it views it. We are not going to let it run through, but are building a separate account to do this with. Apparently, we can't risk upsetting the big cheese/head honcho!!! I was pretty certain that he wouldn't be locked out, as AD would have the final say. Testing will continue!!
  2. http://www.edugeek.net/forums/behind-red-door/58505-80s-those-werent-there.html#post530522 Those are my thoughts, and mine alone. Though I believe that anyone old enough will recognise a great deal of truth in there!
  3. Leopards and spots spring to mind.......... Just out of interest, How old are the participants of this thread? I'm guessing some, if not most, are under 30? I will write a separate thread which will detail exactly why the Tory Party are the curse of the last 30 years. Labour may not have been perfect, but the system that they were left with was one that was destroyed in the 80's by Maggie and her cronies. It's not ALL about the miners and the railways. It's about British Gas, British Telecom, British Airways, the Water Board etc etc etc.
  4. Well, a budget to make the Tories amongst you happy! The rich will, indeed, get richer, whilst the poor....well, in a Tory world, you can F*** the poor. It feels like 1979 all over again, and for those of you that aren't old enough to remember, we have some vey, very harsh years ahead. Mind you, we can probably all have a pie and a pint in the pub on signing-on day. Now, where are those other nationalised industries? Oh, we won't have any as the Tories are selling the last of them off. Hmmmmmmm.....Someone once said "You get the government you deserve"..... I don't think we deserve this shambles!
  5. This is what we're looking at, at the mo. The script does exactly what you say, and we're looking to put the exception in. As for the auditors....that's my boss's problem, not mine! I, personally, don't think that it is right. The Principle should be setting the example, not extricating himself from protocols. But, I don't make the decisions.......!!!!
  6. That's my point entirely! But, that's the rules!!
  7. Seems like our system developer had written a reminder script for the passwords. So they're from a system admin account. We're NOT going to let it count down, as my boss is getting significant static from the top man about this! So, I have to find out what the problem is!
  8. I have a question, that has been vexing the department for a couple of days now, and which we don't have the answer to. Our Principle would like his password NOT to expire. This seems easier said than done , at the moment! We've put him into an OU in GP, that doesn't need to change the password, and ticked the box in the properties. He still gets the email. We've tried putting him into a GP unit that doesn't take the Default Domain Policy. He still gets the email. Could it be that the email is spurious? Or is there something obvious that we've missed? All help gratefully received!!!
  9. Ummmmm...Sippo....I think you'll find that around "Swindon" there is a dimension rip. You can get in and out but no information will ever escape! The trains aren't actually real either....Just a figment of your fevered imagination!!!!
  10. Agree with all of this......I could write a short treatise on the socio-economic problems caused by Thatcherism....but it would bore everyone to death............Probably!!!!
  11. I should also say that I VERY NEARLY voted Lib-Dem, as I could see that Labour would not retain a majority. I thought long and hard about this, because I honestly believed that the Lib-Dem's might have a chance at winning. In the end, I voted with my head, my conscience and my heart.......As a true working class person, I was only going to vote one way, and that is how it was. The Lib-Dem's have sold their soul in a Faustian pact. This will rebound on them, next time round, as they will not be seen as a Governmental Party, but as a party that swerves to wherever is best for them.
  12. Personally, I think EVERY Lib-Dem voter should hang their head in shame. Just 13 months ago, at the Lib-Dem spring Conference, Nick Clegg (who he?) said (And I paraphrase here) "We will NEVER be in coalition with the Conservatives. Everyone wants to be in an alliance with us. We will make no alliances." And yet, who is David Cameron's toady, a mere year later? He should be ashamed of himself. Have the courage of his convictions, and force another election.....Not be dragged into a coalition govt. THAT is what the Lib-Dems didn't want, and yet they were led blindly into it, by a leader with his eyes open. The hypocrisy is enormous. Now, don't get me started on the Tories, who would decimate the public sector, whilst the private sector drink the champagne. When you, or I, or any of us, start to lose our jobs.....Try to remember that it was Labour who wanted the Public Sector to help us out of recession. The Private sector have little interest in the recession....they can just find another war to support. But, it's OUR jobs that are now at risk......Not some Merchant banker (In ALL meanings of the phrase) who's gonna lose THEIR jobs, even though they are the ones who have forced this on us!
  13. That's not, like, a proper ton.....but, like, very heavy!!!! 4 blokes to lift a coffin, a bloke and a jetski....................... Only in America!!!
  14. Gotta love the way he goes from wet to dry and back again! Has anyone tried to lift a jetski before? They weigh a ton!
  15. Nope....streaming perfectly here! Looking forward to the first half of Argies V S Korea!
  16. That's correct....but it has been adapted to become the NEW broadcast media. And, BBC, ITV et al have to be on top of the game, otherwise they will fall behind and lose out in the battle for online viewers. I think that ITV will have lost this battle already, but the BBC are keeping themselves very much in the game with the amounts that have been invested.
  17. LOL..... As I was typing it, it came to me that it was a terrible pun...... But was completely by accident! Sorry....I won't do it again!!!! P.S. I can't believe you didn't thank me for that joke!!!!!!
  18. That is INSANE! You always hear stories of "hailstones the size of golfballs"....but that is ridiculous!!!
  19. I'd want someone's head on a plate, if they were NOT investing in the NEW broadcast media, whatever the event. Don't worry, for all you football-haters......Wimbledon is on next week.....and I bet the Net will be equally well served for that too! (Do you see what I did there? Well-served? Wimbledon? )
  20. *UPDATE* Well, we're just into the second half, and I can report that there has been very little to trouble TVCatchup. However, either Alan Shearer is losing his hair much faster than first anticipated, or the pixelation was getting worse!!!
  21. I'm currently testing (*ahem*) TV Catchup..... Little bit of pixelation during Chile v Honduras. Spain V Switzerland is looking very good, so far!!! I shall continue to test on behalf of my college and Edugeek!!!
  22. I first saw this thread last night, and read through it in one sitting. A truly sorry tale, but good to see that you are slowly coming out of the other side. My brother had a similar situation, with his partner, just after the birth of their first son. She decided that seeing other people was a good thing. Suffice to say, my brother was hurt immeasurably. They got back together, and eventually married and had 2 more children. 4 years ago, they finally split for good, with all the accusations and recriminations that it involved. 3 children have been hurt by this. Despite the bitterness, my brother was able to see past the present and look to the future. Despite ongoing legal battles with his ex-wife, he is still able to look forward. He now shares his life with another woman, who has 3 children of her own. They plan on getting married. Although when you live through this, it feels like there is NO way out.....always remember that life will come good for you. You WILL find happiness, and your daughter WILL always love you. Hope things continue to improve for you Neph, and good luck for the future
  23. I'm quietly confident that t'internet WILL be able to cope, and that the BBC will be fine! That said, I'm ever the optimist, and still think England can win the thing!!! (Nurse, nurse....time for my pills!!!)
