  1. You'd be amazed at how many people have said that to me, over the years.......erm....wait....Errrr....Nope, you're the first, and even then, I can smell a whiff of sarcasm in the air!!!! Mind you, that could be the coronation chicken sandwich that I had for lunch!!! FYI: aerospace = Aerospace Systems Operator (Trade Group 12 - RAF) mango = Girlfriend (at the time) favourite fruit! That is the genesis of my moniker!
  2. So....you start again, until your eyes rest on one that is not so offensive to your eyes!!!! It may take awhile.....but it's gotta be better than MidnightMan hasn't it??? (Sorry Hightower....No offence meant!) MidnightMan sounds like a shady character that people would invoke to scare the bejeezus out of themselves....Not an intelligent, tech-savvy person.................Surely??
  3. I would suggest going on a random username generator, and closing your eyes whilst you click "next" After a pre-determined time, you open your eyes, and the first thing you see is your new username! That worked for me, many years ago, and I like to think that I have aerospacemango pretty much wrapped up on the major sites LOL!!!
  4. Orford Ness is only a couple of miles away....So it would make sense. Orford Ness also being the site of secret nuclear research.....!
  5. Well....seems like "The Truth IS Out There"....or maybe not!! ***http://www.hyper.net/ufo/rendlesham.html*** Two opposite points of view..... ***http://www.ianridpath.com/ufo/rendlesham.htm***
  6. The OH and I like to take walks around Rendlesham Forest.....they have a special UFO trail..... However, wasn't that discredited as the work of a couple of USAF guys, with some lights and a car horn??? I know that I've not seen anything up there...............yet...................
  7. If this is becoming a "Ghost Story" thread, then I can do it too............. Many years ago, I was a member of the RAF. I was stationed in Norfolk, at a small Radar base, and billeted at RAF Coltishall. I was living in a shared room with two other blokes. With the way that the room was set out, it was possible to open 2 of my wardrobe doors, and that would enclose my space in the room. One night, I locked the door to the room, knowing that my two mates were on leave. Closing my space off, I settled down to go to sleep. At some time during the night, I was woken by the sound of the door opening. Thinking that it was one of my mates coming back early, I turned over to go back to sleep. I then heard my wardrobe doors being pushed aside. And "felt" someone walk over to my bed. I couldn't move. The doors were then closed, and the room door was shut. I fell back to sleep. When I woke up in the morning, the room door was still locked, and the bin had moved to the centre of the room, and had about 2 inches of water in it. Neither of my room mates had come back from leave early, and there is no explanation of how those events came to pass. Finally, it was a well known fact that there was one particular room, on the base, which had been shut up and remained unused. This was because an airman had committed suicide in there, and everyone who had the room, after that, reported seeing a fluorescent hand print on the wall, which no amount of painting would cover up. Sleep well, tonight, everyone!
  8. We have started Skype, but only for certain users.....SMT and the like, for video-conferencing. One interesting point from last friday..... Due to the number of people who had the news, streaming, Skype was like watching a 56K dial-up convo, from 2000!!
  9. When the money comes through, we should meet up and quaff Champagne, whilst looking down at all the oiks!
  10. Sorry....You're right! I was blinded by the £15,000,000!!! Anyhoooo...I answered it and they said that all I had to do was send them £1500 and they'd send me the cheque. Have done the bank transfer....just waiting for the £1.5m to come rolling in! Apparently, the transfer will come from their Nigerian account.......
  11. I know that these go around ALL the time, however, what made me particularly laugh about this one, was the date when the draw was made! Someone really should check their calendar, when they are sending out phishing attacks!!!
  12. Thanks for that, Dave! That's 20 mins of my life, sat in front of my PC, with my gob hanging open! Beautiful pictures..... Would love to be able to do that...
  13. I WANT that car!!!
  14. But, if you are going to neg rep, then at least have the b*lls to own up to it! Not everyone is going to agree with my point of view, but neg repping should actually be used for abusive posts or similar! ****I very much appreciate the balance, Chris ****
  15. Bizarrely, someone DID neg rep me....But seems to be too shy to leave their name with their comment! Wow....Just....wow.... It's good to know that there is a healthy debate going on.....but don't you DARE to disagree with me, or I'll NEG REP your A***E......That's what that person is saying. Sadly, this is why I call for this thread to end. The arguments are well documented, and yet the mud-slinging continues. Poor.....very poor.
  16. But, isn't it about time that this whole argument was put to bed? Some LOVE Apple stuff, Some DON'T LOVE Apple stuff! Horses for courses, one mans meat, etc etc etc....... It's a bit pointless now, as for every Pro-Jobs website that you link to, you can find an Anti-Jobs site. ......And ne'er the twain shall meet! ***Personally, I rate the kit, but not the attitudes of the owners!*** ***That's just MY opinion!***
  17. I'm guessing that for a fair few of us, who look at this story, this was GENESIS! I know that I wanted one! However, I began with the Commodore Vic20 (8K expansion cartridge too!).....Oh how those winter evenings flew by, when you're waiting for a game to load! Or, the hours spent with a C&VG mag, a ruler, and 500 lines of BASIC, just to play a game! Then realising that it doesn't play, so having to check said 500 lines of BASIC for the bug!!! Happy days, indeed!
  18. HA! My android DOES have it....and I've just Neg repped you! So there! Oh....No...Hold on...That's not neg rep....that's factory reset....WHAT have I done?????? LOL!
  19. Personally, I can only speak about my experience with Apple users. For a start, my brother has had an iPhone for about 2 years. He will not accept that there is anything else on the market that is as good, if not better. Despite the fact that he is struggling financially, he will not give up his £35 a month contract and go to a different phone on £10-20 a month. I call this blind stupidity. (Though this, perhaps, has nothing to do with the overall argument!!). I work with a couple of people who have iPhones. Man alive, they are the most tedious people to talk to about it. In their eyes, Apple can do NO wrong. Again, they will not accept that there is anything else out there, that could be as good, or better. My argument will ALWAYS be that it is better to have fewer toys, and play in the big wide world, than it is to have loads of toys, but stay in your walled garden. Look at children, for instance. Those that are brought up with a well-rounded view of the world, and the ability to make their own decisions are generally better to know. Those that have spent their formative years cosseted by their parents (walled garden, if you like) are always the arrogant, self-centred ones. ***JUST MY OPINION....NEG REP IF YOU MUST!***
  20. WOW.....Just Wow! I've loved the BF series since it first came out. Haven't seriously played a FPS in about 3 years, but this baby could tempt me back in! Anyone else remember BF1942 when it first came out? Everything was black and blue until the first patch was released (Unless you had a top spec machine!)
  21. http://geekandpoke.typepad.com/.a/6a00d8341d3df553ef014e5f97e129970c-pi Just something to look at!
  22. Optimus One P500 Android Development - xda-developers Here's the place to go.... You'll probably get the right answer from these forums. Bear in mind that you won't be able to post to a thread until you've posted 7-10 times in the open forums.
  23. Are you not aware that when a BMW, Audi or Merc driver goes to buy their new car, they are given a handbook? This consists of just one page, that says..... wait for it........ "YES! You DO own the road!" *This is true, as I've seen my sisters handbook **OK, it's not ACTUALLY true!! **
  24. Word on Twitter from Suzi (geekchick) Perry is March 25th.
  25. I am a Jedi, and have been for many years. At the LAST census, it was worth it, just to see the look on the census takers face! Do I regret it? NO Do I think it skews the results? NO. My religion is just as valid as any other, whether it be Sikh, Christian, Muslim, or Scientology. It is MY belief that ALL religions are based on stories, handed down over time, from generation to generation, and that none of it is actually true! ***I REPEAT....THIS IS JUST MY VIEW*** (So, no fatwa's, thank you very much!)
