  1. BTW swgfl can enable transparent proxy for free, just call them.
  2. Anyone else on Android 6 Marshmallow? Had it for a few days on my Nexus 5 and have already used the new Google tap lots. It's been so handy I am not sure I could live without this very handy feature. Not found much else different from v5 so far.
  3. Cloudberry uses a user account you create, it can also do cloud 2 cloud backup so not all eggs in one basket.
  4. Played on PC. Drop zone is like COD and Walker Assault is a bit like Battlefield although only played both for 3 or 4 mins.
  5. Cloudberry backup has option for maintains on site and cloud mirrors.
  6. Does that mean I can install RSAT on to a non domain Win 10 laptop and then use this to setup policies for multiple domains? I look after a few primary schools and that would be helpful.
  7. Firstly just to see if other schools are using it and then to get a feel / feedback about it. Thanks for all the info so far
  8. All email is unsecured and always has been, even when we used RM Easy mail we had to have a disclaimer saying it was not a secure messaging service, funny how they always pick on Google.
  9. EDITED: My main point is not that Google is good or better but that Microsoft Cloud is also not good. Both companies are only around to take our money.
  10. You can back MS all you want but it was way after they had the data servers running in Ireland which at the time was the selling point. I can even remember they released some anti Google advertising based on the fact they held all the EU data in the EU and Google did not but it was all total crap.
  11. I believe this was US based change that was put back after the court action and did not effect EU GAFE
  12. Ha you should read the posts in that thread, things like this and this - http://readwrite.com/2013/01/03/googles-ftc-settlement-is-an-epic-fail-for-microsoft MS were caught lying to schools years ago, its why they had to release a statement explaining they did release data to the US even though they had sold web space to schools and companies saying they did not. And look how effective their campaigner of smears has been, you all believe MS are different from Google, but they are not.
  13. Google business is a paid service and has no adds and the education version is based on the business version, Alternatively the free version of hotmail / outlook has lots of adds. BTW Microsoft has never been 100% compliant, it was about 3 years ago that they released a statement saying they would transfer data from the EU to the USA if required
  14. Hi, my primary school are just about to deploy the Rising Stars - Switched on computing packages and I wondered if any other schools are using it as I have not found any in my area.
  15. No issues at my schools and we do have a mix of Office 2010 & 2013 installed
  16. When I upgraded my home PC to Win10 using the upgrade icon near the clock I was asked for my email address and now after the upgrade I can log in to MS and see this as a device. For my test in a primary school I download the upgrade USB tool and used this on a couple of test laptops but do not remember being asked for an email account to link these laptops and I wonder what would happen if I needed to do a full rebuild, is this correct? The test laptops were OEM Win 7pro and a Win 8.1pro.
  17. GMAIL has been solid at all my schools for the last 4 years but this week I have had a couple of teachers saying their mail is going to the spam when sending to internal. hmmm
  18. No, At one of my schools we have LA offsite hosted backup and I also run Cloudberry backup and windows backup.
  19. I look after 4 schools on my own and have had no problems with remote desktop access or apps. Its been very very solid at all my schools for many years
  20. Have noticed a change when dealing with Stone in the last couple of years though. Account managers seem to cycle through at an alarming rate, and we've had a few occasions where trying to get them to quote on projects has turned into a shambles on their part, including some comical internal communications, or lack of We stopped using them for the same reasons. The last few years they became much less personable as a company. Most orders we got were messed up and it didn't help that they kept changing our account manager.
  21. We dont have SLG but all staff can use Sims from home using remote server access.
  22. I use built in server 2012r2 windows backup in the vm (not host) to backup data to a couple of USB drives and one gets left in the safe. I also use Windows backup in the host (not the vm) which does a complete vm image backup and we also do offsite backup using clouberry as it is cheap and offsite space is now free. The backup in Windows 2012r2 is much much better than it was
  23. Thanks but still on Solus 2. Just got new setup files and will post back
  24. Up until now I have only ever installed Sims and FMS onto a Windows 7 pro client but we have just got the office a couple of new computers running Windows 8.1 pro and I am having some issues. While installing Sims and fms I get the following error - 'Windows cannot find 'ocsetup'. Make sure you've typed the name correctly' 'Could not execute the external program ocsetup.exe' If I continue installing Sims and FMS, Sims seems to run fine and I can log in etc but when I try to run FMS I get the following, Exception EDBEngineError in Module finance.exe at 0007ccb2. An error occurred while atempting to initialize the Borland Database Engine (errror $210a) I have tried to re-install both FMS and Sims but that made no difference. I also wanted to fully remove both but they do not seem to have an uninstaller listed in add remove programs. Any ideas how I can get these up and running. Thanks
  25. Just wanted to say thanks to you all - I now have 16gb free on my servers c drive and can relax.
