Did just find some info on the forums that says it does not encrypt, so will give them a call.
-
When I checked the forums (ages ago) the did have people complaining about the Google drive not encrypting but that was for the non server version. I will go hunting.

Been a while but just seen this, But on the Cloudberry Google page it says it does do both of these http://www.cloudberrylab.com/google-drive-windows-server-backup.aspx

If you still have a working DC you would probably move the roles on to the working server, install new OS, add to domain, make dc and let it synchronize, move the roles back. I would restore the backed vm DC using the backup if I lost all DC's Well that is the way I would do it.

So, who's installing Windows 10 on the 29th July?
edutech4schools replied to Dos_Box's topic in Windows 10
I think if you opted to get the Win 10 update it has been slowly downloading something in the background so the servers should not get bogged down on launch day, at least that was the info I read on some website and it could be totally nonsense. -
The core apps that you signup to use will never be removed (it does list this somewhere) but they can play around with the apps listed as additional. I look after a number of primary schools, our local authority did not even consider GAFE for the schools and rammed Office 365 in to all the school. I decided to give all my school a demo of GAFE and they all decided it would be a much better option.

You could take a look at this. Also backs up to cloud if needed. Cloud Backup and Cloud Storage Management Solutions. CloudBerry Lab

What would happen if you used windows backup (which now can backup an entire vm) to backup and then restore a vm to the other host.

Hope you have a snapshot you can go back to as you will need to start over with the updates. Do NOT install KB 2919355 on the first round of updates and possibly the following updates although it was only the KB 2919355 that caused me this issue. · KB2982791 · KB2970228 · KB2975719 · KB2975331 You will be fine to re-tick these updates on the next round of updates they just cause an issue if another update is not already installed. Hope this helps

Using Windows Server Backup to backup to a Network Drive
edutech4schools replied to Joanne's topic in Windows Server 2008 R2
Bit of topic - Don't forget that from server 2012r2 you can backup complete Vm's from the host (hyper-v) using WSB in a similar way to Veeme and taget an VHD file for multiple backup versions. -
Google HTTPS - Tomorrow! :)
edutech4schools replied to Steve21's topic in Internet Related/Filtering/Firewall
Still works and was told to use it on my servers That was the first proxy address I used but it was while talking to them on the phone about setting up staff proxy that they told me to try a different proxy, and so the magical mystery proxy address tour started. Anyway I have tested, just not deployed the updated proxy address to all computers via gpo yet. -

Cheers, been getting all my schools ready but bet it borks. RM have given me 6 different proxy server addresses so far. Every time I call them they say 'oh you should not be using that proxy address, I will give you the correct one', and the next time I call they say the same thing. Also needed to setup staff proxy as unfiltered.proxy.school.....sch.uk will not work. fingers crossed. -

Thanks for the info. Out of interest what graphics card would you recommend based on my OP. I was looking at the nvidia cards but the numbers 570 etc really mean nothing to me. Would a 2gb card be OK? -
I recently built myself a gaming rig which cost me rather more than I had wanted but well worth every penny. The issue is my 8 year old is wanting to play some steam games so I would like to build him a separate system. I got given an old small form factor dell pc, but this only has on board graphics (no reall expansion room) and even stutters playing Minecraft, so I am now thinking of building him a cheap rig. Anyone seen any cheap pre built rigs that would run some of the steam games on medium settings or have any advice. OS I have covered as I have full Win7 pro on DVD.

That's is a very small secondary school or do you mean computers?

If its a small school you can setup remote desktop server without the need for any Virtual machines. The staff connect to the server and get a virtual desktop created by the server rather than a full blown VM. Install remote desktop service Install remote Gateway Install remote licence server Hand out connection to staff.

not near a server so not 100% sure of the name but is share this NIC with OS ticked or not in hyper-V network settings?
