Not quite sure why you would need a script if you're using a pac file. If you want somthing for users to run and select then proxy switcher from Onyxbox is the answer, free and just sits in the system tray, needs no configuration and works with XP, Vista and W7. http://www.onyxbox.co.uk/software/downloads/ps.htm

function FindProxyForURL(url, host) { if (isInNet(myIpAddress(), "192.168.1.0", "255.255.255.0")) return "PROXY 192.168.1.1:8080"; else return "DIRECT"; } Put this into your pac file. Just substitute the appropriate IP addresses for yours and the proxy

Have you applied for the distribution licence, as if not you will be creating the package illegaly. -
Flash Player Package on CC4
HarryMonkey replied to Serenastra's topic in Network and Classroom Management
Unfortunately, when it comes to blueprints, especially with Adobe, you need to grab it while you can, even if you're not planning to install it straight away. The way that it's licensed means that you have to apply for a licence to distribute the software, so even if you could download it from somewhere else, you would be in contravention of the licence. I guess you have two options really, apply for a licence and download the latest version usng the link that they send you or wait until the next blueprint comes out. (Or the third option is to just stick with the version that you currently have). -

A better team would have punished us tonight. We lose posession too easily and give the opposition too much space and an easy path into the box.

I need to recover an entire drive ... it was the backup of my workstation D drive. My workstation failed recently and I needed to get some files off the backup drive (an ex laptop drive in a USB caddy) which subsequently went belly up. I can get at the original D drive and, whilst I can get most of the files back with Recuva, what I end up with is all 33,000 files in one folder. Is there a tool that will recover the files and the original folder structure?

No, we could have decided ourselves that we wanted, for example, a Meru solution, we could have then sent out invitations based on that solution.

Whilst it might be unfair, when it comes to the tendering process it is also illegal. Once a tender is in, that's it, it cannot be adjusted. We've just been through it for the provision of our wireless. A tender document was written (talk to your LA, they will probably have examples you can use). You then need to timetable deadlines for questions from the companies, followed by a date for site visits (if needed). There will then be a deadline for them to respond with their tender. These should not be opened until the deadline is passed at which point they can be scored against the criteria you have laid down and the award can be made to your winner. Putting out a public tender is an entirely different process to just going out and getting 3 quotes and there are legal processes attached to it (one of which is to not tip the wink to any of the bidders).

This thread has certainly managed to razor smile or two.

It's such a cut throat industry that they would be foolish to get in a strop and just brush it off.

Many thanks for that. I daresay it won't be too long before we get asked to look at this.

There are no licence issues for iTunes on a school network. Below is an extract from an email I had from Apple when asking them just such a question.

It might do if it means it can be deployed automatically to the required workstations.

Thanks Tim, given the way our DT dept moves from one IT suite to another, copying that amount of info manually to over 200 workstations (and again each time we rebuild them) will probably mean that we won't be using it then. Shame really as it looks like a good product and I can almost hear the wailing from our DT dept when I tell them that installing it this way is not a practical solution for us.
