AB Tutor Control: Problem with finding clients
nettechth replied to nettechth's topic in Network and Classroom Management
Problem was solved my creating a new group and manually adding in the computer names into that group. Although they still look offline, when attempting to connect, they all seem fine. -
We have recently had a few teachers that have brought us corrupt memory sticks. Normally I just use a variety of programs until I find one that works. However, just out of curiosity, what file recovery programs do you use?

Yes I have, they supplied me with a troubleshooting manual which hasn't been to any use so far. I will keep looking into this and post if I find a solution -
AB Tutor Control: Problem with finding clients

No we don't. IP's are supplied from the DHCP server. Its just strange that they 'sometimes' appear. -
We have a new computer ICT room of about 10 PC's, which currently have AB client installed and running on each machine. All machines are currently NOT on the domain. At first, I couldnt see any machines through AB Control, so i added an exception into Windows Firewall to include ABclient.exe. and after a reboot on all machines, they quite happily appeared in AB control. However, I have just started to notice that I can only see 2 or 3 machines at any given time, and the odd thing is, the machines vary between which ones are viewable in AB control E.G. PC 01, 02, 03 may appear and then a few hours later PC 07,08,09 migt appear. Has this got anything to do with the machines not being on the domain (DNS/DHCP issue?) or it there something I am totally missing here

Yeah we kind of have the same issue, However when someone make a bank transfer to their sQuid card, it does allow us to do it in intervals of £5 and a minimum of £10, which is a little anoying since we have odd prices for our items too.
-
We use a system called sQuid. Each person charges there sQuid card online at the website or we have a secure/designated machine with a proxy reader to allow them to charge there cards in school too. We also have a Free meal option for guests/support staff

Stumbled across this the other day and thought it might be useful for giving to teachers as a fun learning tool (or even for just your kids!). http://www.freewebarcade5.net/media/the-scale-of-the-universe-2.swf

Hi I am trying to query a lastlogonstamp for all computers on my domain in Active Directory so that I can delete old computer entries where needed that havent been logged on since the last school term. However I cannot seem to find this in AD. Is this even possible? I can do it from a user point of view but not computer. I did start to use a program called truelogon however I still beleive that there must be a way of doing this in AD. Is it possible?

Here that! It's rediculous. I get them all the time from the 'HMRC' telling me im due a tax rebate of 9k. Would be nice if it was real!

Ah Finally! Thanks for the post Arthur. Been driving me nuts that I cannot bind my iMac OS X 10.7.2 to AD. Will give this a go and see if it has improved!
