  1. He has a PC he connects to his TV and has a Chromecast adaptor plugged into his TV, think its just easier to connect his iPad where his TV is using a cable and he cant get the websites he wants via the Chromecast device. So, so long as he gets the correct cable he should be OK? No restrictions on what the iPad will allow to be streamed then?
  2. Just been asked this question by daughters boyfriend and honestly have no idea so consulting the enlightened masses! He wants to connect his iPad to his TV via HDMI (needs to buy a cable first and wants a cheap one) which on the surface seems fine, but I seem to remember reading that Apple only allow certain videos to be streamed to an external source i.e. ones from the iTunes library and not from a website, am I correct and if so, are there any other limitations?
  3. Yes, tried them first, no mouse mat (last mouse worked on table fine), checked nothing touching board, will disconnect board from PC to definitely cancel that option. Will let you know what happens.
  4. Got a PC, W7, Smartboard etc and the teacher complains the mouse when using it just flicks the focus to random points on the screen making it difficult to use. First suspected the mouse as it wasn't that new so swapped it and no improvement. Just watched it now and it indeed, just flicks to somewhere else when its being moved around the screen randomly (so teacher complaint valid). Any pointers as to what to look at next or if you had this before? If its a long investigation process may have to use a sledge hammer to crack a nut and reimage the PC when I can.
  5. Now working again on android but not done anything since last time when it didnt work.
  6. Got it free with my phone and it seems to work quite well. Now got it on my iPad as well.
  7. Got same message on my ipad now, fully uptodate OS
  8. Android app now not loading with a tapatalk error message. Uninstalled and reinstalled but no joy.
  9. Yes, thought it was just me! Would be interested in the solution as well, our LA use Blox as our filter as well.
  10. That was an old thread, not worked at that school for a few years now! Started reading it and only when I noticed my pic did the penny drop that I wrote it!
  11. Welcome back!
  12. Was looking at weebly here as well, seems ok for what we need to do at the moment...will see after easter!
  13. Ours I think will be glad of the 6065's as they are in need of new projectors anyway and always complaing they cant model writing on the Smartboards they have, no freeze is annoying but they will just have ti live with that, swings anx roundabouts and all that.
  14. Interested in this as we are looking to get some 6065's in and we have teacher desk screens as well. Possible to get a separate graphics card with HDMI and VGA output then you could possibly run both? No having one to test, not sure if you could run the two at separate resolutions?
  15. Does anyone use the new Smartboard 6065 screens with the older v11Smart notebook software? Any issues?
  16. Any one got any idea how to set the above?
  17. Had more info sent through but not sure how to implement it if anyone can help. The following info needs to be set as far on our server firewall or on the Ruckus controller, not sure which? Romo does not need the internet, only the same network. I have Server 2008 R2 and Ruckus WiFi all on the sane network. "Please be sure port #21355 is open on your wireless router. Check your router for an advanced setting to enable multicast routing (IGMP Proxy). If the default setting is disabled, our implementation system Bonjour will have difficulty functioning." Any help very much appreciated.
  18. Picked up a couple of the Romo robots (controled by ipod/iphone) at BETT to try. They are fine except one feature is that they should be able to be controlled via an iPad or a PC with Chrome browser. It works if I use any other wifi other than school so its probably down to being blocked by firewall etc. Anyone used them and got it working, and what eeds unblocking? Sent an email to company but no reply as yet other than to reinstall app and using it on a router that has a firewall may be problematic. Manual says " if your devices are connected to an enterprise or work network. These networks typically block the ports that Romo needs to stream video. " which is not good for something which is meant for schools.
  19. No, sorry, ended up setting them all up to 3G so no problem getting connection and split them into so many per account (set up 5 accounts) due to book share limitations etc. Thats how Amazon advised me to do it. By the way ours are just the Kindle ereaders so definately no proxy settings. Bit if a pain with multiple accounts but cant get around that.
  20. Ours are 3G and with Amazons help we have registered all ours now (which was a big issue), just need to sort a store and charge solution now! Will have a look at the link, interesting.
  21. Can anyone give me some suggestions and prices as to a network attached storage device with at least a 2Tb capacity (maybe mirrored for safety). Needs to be easy to set up and manage/maintain. Year ends coming up fast and need to sort out what I need to do with what money is left in the pot!
  22. Yes, you did make sense! As far as Firefly...what do they do? Lots of people on their stand, had lanyards for last few years...and still no idea what they do or sell! Once again nice to meet the crew.
  23. Visited yesterday and nice to have a quick chat with elsigee40. Intended to get there for pizza but was detained elsewhere...maybe next year. Have fun on the final day.
