Does anyone fancy working on some images for me. I need to get some text logos for my campervan but will have to get them made at a sign makers as they dont do them anymore. The logos are basically the same as the original manufacturers, Hijet for the front, Daihatsu, for the rear and Daihatsu with a long border for the sides. Have included photos of the required images but have no idea (ok skill) to create the required vector images.

Any one know how to set the add-in for JoinIT fonts to be there when a user starts Word rather than using the shortcut icon that the program installs? Tried all sorts of ways but only seem to get it to work when using their shortcut!

Had a go at that and if its after the submit statement nothing happens, if its after the function section it passes me to the page but does not log me in! Why did they had to change it, was working so well before!

Yes that's a good one to look at, some very good ideas and resources. Used some of them in my scheme. Doing your own scheme is a lot of hard work and time involved but in the end I feel you get a more personalised curriculum to your school and kids. I spent last year creating and trialling ours and this year its a case of seeing what didn't work (some activities not just Rising Stars looked good but at the stage our kids are at the moment they just didn't work) and making it more teacher friendly, more explained lesson plans etc. Have to agree that the Y6 Rising stars modules just didn't get a starter here, did think about doing some AppInventor etc but half way through the year realised our kids were just not ready yet, the new curriculum had not had its longer term impact yet, maybe I'll try it in a couple of years when y6 will then have had a few years of programming etc. Remember as well, don't throw the toys out with the bath water, i.e. some of the stuff done via the old curriculum will still fit in the new one and you still need to include other things that are not specifically mentioned in the official document. Just doing Rising Stars is a start but not everything. Where are you? Is there a ComputingatSchool Hub near you that you could go to for help and ideas?

I have a java script that we use as a shortcut for a subscription based website that the kids use and need to enter username and password (same for all pupils) which has worked fine until now that the company has redesigned the login page. I've managed to get the scripts to now enter the details and log me in (checked by going to the home page and I am logged in) but it will not automatically load a page after submitting the details. How do I get javascript to load a web page after submitting data? This what I have so far and yes the company are quite happy for me to automate the login process for pupils in school. I bought it as a starting point...and thats all! It looks to be a one stop shop but be aware some links to sites in it dont now work, some software needs to be paid for and you really need to see if your kids will be able to do some of the activities (I couldnt use some of the activities as some of my Y1's just didnt have the literacy skills to do some of the tasks). As you may tell I'm not a great fan. Whoever is leading your computing really needs to get into what computing these days is all about. There are so many free activities and resources out there that there is really no need to buy into one, what you need to do is look at the curriculum and decide how you want to cover it, what skills staff have and take it from there. If the staff dont have the skills even Rising stars wont help, they may need a gentle intro to it via staff training. Have a look at the Computing at School website, sign up and browse the hundreds of resources, lessons etc. There is also the Barefoot project with lots of lessons and resources. http://www.teachprimarycomputing.org.uk/ gives a good roundup of what a new computing curriculum should cover and include. Hope that helps but as you are about to deploy Rising Stars...probably not!

Yes, at last school we had first edition as well...same opinion..poo! Charge connectors feeble and very poor.performance once Learnpad on (not much better without), we did remove software but cant remember now how we did it, just call Learnpad support and they will advise. I know the school did buy some of the later ones but dobt know how they got on as I left 😁

Yes, we got that here this year, msi works fine. Not sure myself about the font, I find it difficult to read and some of the letters don't seem to join to others so its not fully joined writing. Wasn't my decision to get it and maybe reading its just me! Company was very helpful with any questions I had though.

Sorting out an old laptop for use as a spare and trying to get Google in IE. Any other site is fine, but its just IE gives a connection error. Chrome is installed and Google comes up fine on that? Anyone ever had it? Its not a major problem but just one of those annoying ones I would like to fathom out why! Its an XP laptop running IE7, so that's why its not an issue if it does not get fixed. Ran a scan and cleanup on it and its come up fine.

Agree, primary is usually a job thats very varied but the lube does have to be drawn somewhere, rodding drains...no...when I'm really busy..not at the moment and anything else within reason, it helps the days and weeks go much quicker. The key word is flexability.

Although I sympathise with you, I have been doing tech support in one or more primaries for the last 11 years and I'm afraid what you list are all the typical jobs you will get asked to do (and probably more as well). Working in a primary is an all out job sometimes and just starting out in it will be stressful and very busy. i was the same when I started and spent the first 12-18months getting on top of it all and yes, no hand over or info, same as you, but then things did get easier. Did you by any chance go and talk to anyone in school school tech support before you made the change? Its not a job in primary where you can just sit and tinker with PC's waiting for the next call to be logged (you luck they even log issues).

Have a friend who has a website with his own domain name but it was registered a while ago and he now does not know who to contact over it! Is there a way of finding out whonhe actually used to register the Website Domain name?

The school is thinking about getting a 3d printer for some small projects, does anyone have any experience of one and some good suggestions of ones worth buying? Also as they are looking at doing some modelling in the short term they are thinking of getting the models done externally until they get a printer. Anyone know of anyone who does a service like that and what kind of costs are involved?

Got a Dell colour laser MFD network capable from Morgan Computers myself, been quite happy with it so far and came with three sets of toners as well as the original ones. Have printed from iPad to it and is on my home network no problem.

Yes had this as well, just said it wasnt a feature that was available but....at least they could use and see the screen now so that outweighed the option of freezing the screen! Most have just accepted that fact now. Did try an extended desktop as you did but also found it problematic.

Get the teachers to do it as part of their PSHE sessions, we are going to use the SWGfL scheme which sets everything out for them so no excuses. It covers a lot more than just esafety and fits in really well with the Digital Literacy strand of the Computing curriculum. They need to become more involved in the delivery of the computing scheme, its definitely not a one person job.

Had some boards in since Easter and have been OK but two have now displayed the same issue. When drawing on the board it has a tendency to miss sections of lines in certain areas of the board, sometimes in the middle, sometime left but more often than not in the upper half of the display. Its like you have draw a section of morse code instead of a line. Should have take a picture (will next time). Rebooted the board a few times and it seems to have settled the issue but why has it started and is there a more permanent fix. Don't think its the Notebook software as drawing a line with a mouse has no issues and its fine when I have rebooted the board but left the same instance of the software running. Anyone else had this issue?

Its 2008 R2 and W7 client, done a work around for that one at moment, all others picking up proxy no problem, why just that one PC I dont know!
