  1. Well, after many errors and fraud prevention phoning me up, I have my order number and a receipt email! Hopefully it will arrive Thursday/Friday.
  2. Looks like a games console display out cable to me... ?
  3. The old orange shop in Dundee is doing that too, 60miles away from the nearest proposed 4G coverage. I dare say Inverness and Aberdeen stores will be doing the same! Its daft and I feel bad for the folk that will get suckered into a contract they wont be using.
  4. I dont see the point really in tablets, windows 8 will go on AD at least. If price is an issue with them then androids are fine.
  5. I am so tempted to go buy the N4. Mazzuma mobile are offering £150 for a working GS2. So £130 for a new shiny, up to date phone...
  6. Cool, thats exactly what I thought :-)
  7. Smartboards connect by USB (unless they are 6+ years old, in which case it will be seriel, with a possible usb converter.) Sometimes, depending on the cable run there might be a usb extender in the wall. That might have came unplugged. Best way to test is to just get another USB cable and plug it directly into the smartboard and straight into the pc, or a laptop to test. The light should turn green (or flashing green if no drivers are installed)
  8. I was only ever interested in the Intel version. But it looks like its gonna cost a small fortune. :-/ Looking at them from a works point of view. I don't see the advantage of having an RT Surface over an Android/ipad (as in integrating it to the network). Or am I missing something?

    Am I weird?

Lol no, not like that. We are all gamers so there was no telling him what to do, unless he asked.
  10. I'am arwen_7 on PSN. Mostly play RPG's so not much online stuff. Might start dabbling though...

    Am I weird?

Nope, not weird at all. Why do you think there are so many clips on youtube of folk playing games? ;-) In the days before youtube, when Resident Evil came out my brother would sit in the middle of the room playing it, with my other brother, some of their friends and me all watching. With pop corn and the lights out. Much better than just watching a film!
  12. Another vote for spending the extra on a Nexus. Nothing come close to it for value for money.
  13. I have a habit of taking (or finding) a picture of what I need and sending it to people for a quote... It works quite well!
  14. Done. I like in a flat share, but as its an old tenement, its got high ceilings and is pretty spacious compared to most of the new build houses/flats I have been in.
  15. Oh, another plus is that the gmail app is one of the nicest email apps I have used. I have heard some folk having random issues with access when they use a non gmail email address when create a Google account. Don't know first hand though. I'm here on G+ just send me a note if its not obvious who you are and I'll circle back. :-)
  16. I have used Gmail since 2004 and never had a problem with getting it accepted anywhere. I even used it for msn(!) so the xbox might take it. I prefer it since its spam filters are very good. Only once or twice have I had to look through the spam folder to find something. Also very little spam gets through it into your inbox. There are various themes and you can have multiple 'boxes' if you like. I also use Gtalk/Messange/Whatever-its-called-these-days and its handy that its inbuilt to it. I've never used my hotmail account for anything, but Gmail wins hands down compared to my yahoo account.
  17. Aww hope Dexter is back to his self soon! Glad to here he is eating though. That's always a good sign :-)
  18. If they are doing what they have done to all the information on Google maps then its all getting transferred over to Google Plus pages. Could be causing issues?
  19. Sounds most likely. I get through between 2-3GB most months on my android as all my stuff is automagically backed up onto Google/Dropbox. If I turn it off I use around 1GB...
  20. I'd go for this too. Also means you only have to update one place if there is a major change, rather than 2 or more apps...
  21. I've bought a number of both preowned and new games from New and Used Xbox 360 Games, PS3 Games & Wii Games | Grainger Games and never had any problems with them. They were very nice on the phone to when I combined my old and new addresses together and confused a few folk... ! Zelda Twilight princess is a great, but sometimes frustrating game for the Wii.
  22. I do IT support in schools in Aberdeenshire. I am employed by Aberdeenshire council and based at one of the Academys, where I directly support them, local primary schools and (partly support) the surrounding corporate staff. So I don't just do 'school stuff'. It means that all IT staff are 'under one roof' so to speak and is meant to help with integration and support. North Ayrshire council is kinda the same, but they have a technician in each academy and a team the goes around the primary's. (I worked for them too) My experience is its very different to most English set ups. All Scottish government jobs have to be posted on http://www.myjobscotland.gov.uk (It is an absolutely horrible site, sorry) And Glasgow is a great city, I would love to move back :-)
  23. I love all Ghibli characters ;-) I just have favourites...

    Movie Quotes

"Rizzo: I feel like a defective typewriter. Marty: Huh? Rizzo: I skipped a period."
  25. My default films when I am feeling a bit 'bleh' (yes, that is a technical term) are Blade Runner, Lord of the Rings or any Studio Ghibli movie (Normally Howls Moving Castle or Spirited Away)
