Love my Nexus 4, would suggest it to anyone looking for a new phone. I did have battery issues with it before (would only last 12ish hours - 3hrs screen time) but since the 4.2.2 update I now regularly get 23 hours with 3-4 hours screen time. This is a mixture of wifi connected and 3G. If I am in a poor signal area with no wifi it drops to around 19hrs, with 2-3 screen time. I got my first major dent in it last week (had it since being of December), dropped it from around 5ft onto rough tarmac, there is a little chunk missing from the bottom left of the bezel now, but no other damage to the phone or glass! This is without a case too by the way. Mine is from the play store, so don't know deals on it just now.

How long have you been working in IT? Since August 2006 Is this your first, second, third, etc career? First What other jobs / roles have you done previously? One part time for 3 years in a wee corner shop while I was at school. How many interviews did it take to get your first job in IT? One - apprentiship post. And one for my current full time post. Have you ever felt that being female is a help or a hindrance to gaining a job in IT? Depends on the sector I think. And personally I think there is more a push for female IT supervisors/managers rather than techs. If you were considering IT (or other engineering / programming careers) whilst at school what support did you receive? I never really knew what I wanted to do at school, but I wanted to do all 3 sciences. Was told there was no way the school could accommodate that and I could only do two... If you want to know more (nearly a movie quote there ;-) ) I'm on gtalk all the time, just say who you are when you add me. Personally I dislike the whole pushing girls into science/IT professions. We don't push boys into taking up nursing or admin work. We also don't encourage girls to go work on construction sites for some reason... P.s. sorry if this edits weird... Doing it on my phone.

Nexus 7? Will always be up to date and the best hardware for its price. Edit; Sorry just noticed the need for a camera... We have some Toshiba at300's and they are OK, cameras suck though...

I've had 2 PS3's since they came out, my original 60GB model overheated and melted the solder off the motherboard after me using it constantly. My current slim model one has never overheated and has only ever crashed when playing Skyrim… So I am happy with the PS3. What is the PS4 going to do that the PS3 cannot? If it is not backwards compatible with PS3 games I don't see me upgrading.

If you send the phone back for repair, then after 3 times you are entitled to change it to something of similar value/spec as far as I am aware.

I think I have... Tasted a lot like venison if I remember right.

I decided a few months ago that it was about time i lost some weight and got fit again. No idea what I weigh, I just know I've been eating too much and since I got the car I no longer walk as much (when I used to walk everywhere). So I've been trying to cut down on food, but I am a grazer... I get the shakes and can faint if I don't eat every 3 hours or so. Any advice for good diet that lets me eat often? I get Graze boxes and I find they work great for when I am at work. But they are on the expensive side for what you get... :-( Back at the gym tonight however, its gonna be a struggle I think! Kinda want to get back to playing badminton, but its all competitive clubs around here, rather than just playing for a laugh.

I got my invite through on Sunday morning. It seems new players cannot invite more folk at first though, but once I have some I will be posting to Google+ and Twitter. No idea how many invites you get at one time though...

Moving Home what happens with the phone line and broadband?
arwen replied to nicholab's topic in General Chat
So long as your new address has a BT line it should be pretty seemless. I've done it a few times in the last few years and at most only had 12hrs or so of flaky service while they change it over. Problems arise if there is no line at the new address, or if you are with/moving too a company that rents the lines from BT. -
I don't have one, but I do quiet like this one and this one

Did they unplug anything vital to power the lights? ;-) -

A friend is in a similar position @CHR1S He has been in contact with the customer support team all week and the latest update was they are awaiting another shipment from LG, but will refund the P&P for those who's estimate was 3-5 days when ordered.

Hmm which shop to buy the Nexus 4 from!
arwen replied to hardtailstar's topic in Mobile Devices & Tablets
A lot of people were buying it from CPW and O2 because of not being able to order it from the Play store (and their unyielding need to have one instantly). Dont really see the fuss now since you can order from the Play store now, just have to wait. The prices they were going for on ebay and gumtree were mental... One guy on another forum bought 2 my mistake, put it on gumtree for 400 and it was sold on the same day. -
Curious why this thread is for guys only...? Not all women want kids you know! I'd rather have a dog :-)
-
Congrats! Sounds like a much more pleasant and relaxed order than when I ordered mine ;-)

Oo its my N4's one week birthday today ;-) It too loves going for a wander around my desk... thinking of attaching little rubber feet to the corners to stop it, need some low profile ones though! No issues with usb charging though, is the pin on your port damaged at all?

The battery life is fine if you get a decent signal. If you are on wifi most of the time you get great battery life. Good thing is it dosn't seem to take long to charge. I tend to charge it on my drive home from work, its usually around the 20-30% mark, after a 45min drive its fully charged. Edit: Its also playing music while charging in the car.

I got my Nexus 4 last week. And having small hands I was very worried about the size as I found my S2 to be rather big. In reality though the Nexus 4 is not much bigger than the S2, but because of its shape and materials, its much nicer and feels more secure to hold. I have dropped it once during the week. I use to drop my S2 3 or 4 times a day! Its a stunning phone, and I am really enjoying it. I am experiencing some poor battery life however, but I suspect its more to do with my awful signal (and lack of wifi) at work :-/

Not very much of it in Dundee, where I live, but a good few inches of it in Laurencekirk (40ish miles away), where I work. Its been snowy there for the past 3 days, so we are starting to get a layer of ice underneath the snow now... great fun! There is a few mile stretch of the A90 that is concrete, which is like a death trap this morning. Cars and vans skidding about all over the place. I am not looking forward to the drive home, as its still snowing pretty heavily. School is open, but some of the school buses/transport is not running.

I'd also say to stay away from Black Circle, I've used them twice, and had no end of problems with non delivery and idioitc behaviour from them. (The actual garages that do the fitting were great however)

Oo good topic! I need to replace my two front tyres soon... I normally put Bridgestone B250's on my Clio, but find them getting more and more expensive when ever I need new ones... I do around 400-600 miles a week so would prefer a tyre that lasts a while. What do people think of Avon ZT5's ?

Sometimes if you install Go Launcher you can then use it to remove all the apps from samsun/htc etc. Then uninstall Go Launcher if you don't want to continue using it :-) I got rid of that stupid Samsung voice thing on my Galaxy S2 using it.
