If you have a spare pole on the break glass, you can take that back to the controller to an input. Then using a trigger and action you can then send yourself, facilities and/or student support if a break glass is used. Very handy as local buzzers etc are all well and good if someone one cares is near the door.

If the door is "Light use" and a single leaf, look at the Paxlock Pro. Otherwise, a electro strike lock for single leaf doors should be able to offer one way access if you cut the spindle short, or just fit a push down handle on one side.

I seem to think I ran in to this again and found I was injecting to many drivers in to the boot image. So it would try and use the wrong one. Maybe try a fresh boot image without any injected if you've not done that already, the latest version might not need it.

Yes, fail safe means any loss of power releases the door. A mains PSU can have battery backup, I don't think a POE can. However as mentioned above, a rack UPS keeps the switched powered and thus the door. Meaning a single UPS can cover multiple doors.

Paxton comes in 12V or 24V versions, so you can match the PSU to the maglock if needed and just reuse the existing. Not sure if POE can be 24V mind. With POE, watch the number of amps of the system, it's got less capacity. You need a good output from the switch as well of course. My understanding is you can't fit a battery with POE version. But then a rack UPS is better anyway as you can protect the switch too and centrally monitor the battery life etc. As for fire alarm, if it's via the software, you'll have door with an input from a relay. Go through each door looking in the fire alarm tab. It'll show a input has been set and which doors will open on activation. Or, each door might have it's own relay, which is better and means you can skip installing the emergency release if you want too. You can't do that with the software release option. If you go with a fire alarm relay per door, make sure the maglock power is wired through it. Don't input to the paxton (exit button for example) as this is not a supported method. The door needs to fail safe. If you go software release with emergency exit break glass, get one with multi poles. You can wire it such that using the break glass inputs to the Paxton, which via a trigger and action emails you, facilities, student support team etc. Otherwise, they get pressed and no one notices making the access control useless. A built in alarm on the break glass is also useful. If you need any more info, let me know. I know a fair amount about Paxton controllers now through my various jobs dealing with them.

Has no one tried the new combined MFA and SSPR yet?

Did they try and install the app from the Appstore, or the Company Portal? They need to install via the Company Portal.

Hi All, As anyone who's migrated to the new Azure AD/Entra Combined Registration managed to enforce SSPR but not MFA for students? We've not moved yet but we're finding a number of students are being asked to MFA to change SSPR information. I'm yet to work out why but it seems I need to move sooner rather than later to the new system, but I can't see to confirm if we can enforce SSPR but not MFA for students. Thanks, Rob

How are people finding this issue currently? I'm getting reports it's died down a lot. I wonder if Unifi have released an update to resolve it (We have auto updates on).

I not sure if I'm making this up or not, but does outlook require HTTPS for auto discover now? Does the site have a valid certificate?

Yes same here. The odd thing is its been working fine until the last few days without this having to be applied. Mind you, I've not applied it yet of course, so don't know if it'll fix it for not.

I've had reports of authentication issues as well in recent days. We authenticate via the Smoothwall Radius with accounting as well. Can't see any problems on the face of it. Hoping a Smoothwall restart might resolve it.

I'm just trying to get me head around this one. Can anyone confirm the following for me? We currently have Legacy LAPs enabled, so I need to disable this first (Ideally targeting machines with the April 2023 update? So machines which haven't yet updated continue to use legacy until they do. If I backup to ADD (Intune), which we have AD Connect syncing too and devices are hybrid joined too. Can we view local admin passwords in AD as well as Intune? Or just Intune?

Even just allowing OneDrive client to continue to sync after logg off would help. Assuming the machine isn't switched off.

Do you allow students to lock machines? Ie via Ctrl+Alt+Del? If not, the lock when resuming from sleep doesn't apply.

We've fit foil on our hatch, Super Quilt to be exact. We've also foil lined the full roof rafters.

We have starter kit plus five thermostatic radiator valves. For us we have a irregular pattern home/away so we've paid the small yearly fee to have to auto geofencing to turn the heating on and off. Seems to work well, I'm sure it saves money but not sure how much as we've only just moved house so have no real before data. The radiator valves don't report room temp very well, but good enough for small rooms. A larger room (Living room, master bedroom for example) would benifit from a room stat, but costs add up so not done that yet.

Only Microsoft would have the Pro version with less features than the standard one. Lol

Get it via a reseller much cheaper on OVES/EES or CPS. You can get P1 and Intune in a security pack if I remember right.
