Ask your Microsoft Reseller about 'Enterprise Mobility + Security A3 for Faculty/Students'. This was the cheapest way we found to add P1 and Intune licences to 'Top Up' our A1 Licences. Along with 'Microsoft 365 Apps for Faculty/Students' which got us the Office 365 Desktops licences back without having to go up to A3 once they removed the 'Plus' versions of A1.

Hi All, Could I ask what people are currently using to connect Windows 11 to WiFi onsite? The clients will be domain joined and controlled by group policy. Wireless system we have in place currently is Unifi. We currently just use a Pre-shared key for domain machine authentication. With radius (Against our Smoothwall) for our BYOD network. I do have NPS Radius setup and Unifi can use it (Including for VLAN assignment) but I'll need to review it's setup, as it was configured just short of a year ago and worked during testing, but not put into use since. EAP type has 'Microsoft: Smart card or other certificate' at the top, with EAP (PEAP) below it. I welcome your input, Rob

Exactly this, either it's mandatory or it's not. So one or the other is wrong.

Update for others on this, it seems you can't use the Powershell Script option on the Task Sequence. So you use the 'Run Command Line' step instead with the following: Powershell.exe -ExecutionPolicy ByPass -File "%SCRIPTROOT%\[i]W11 Apps Removal Script[/i].ps1" I then also ran into Sysprep issues due to Language Packs which appear when you remove built in apps. These appear after a restart from the removal, which then needs another script as put below. So you'll want three steps as follows: Run Command Line - PowerShell Remove Built In Apps Restart Computer Run Command Line - PowerShell Remove Language Pack (Same command as above, but pointing to second script) #Remove Language Pack causing Sysprep Issues Get-AppxPackage -Name '*Microsoft.LanguageExperiencePacken-gb*' | Remove-AppxPackage -ErrorAction SilentlyContinue (Thank you to Edugeeks @KK20 for the above - /forums/windows-10/219875-windows-10-20h2-sysprep-error-2.html#post1894619)

Good find. I've followed that, had some issues with running the JSON. It turns out you can't copy the Microsoft code even in the code boxes as it's miss formatted. Re-typing the spacing and brackets sorted it. Fingers crossed this does it. Thank you for that.

How are you running this in your Task Sequence? I've tried the script being run in State Restore phase. However I'm just getting a generic 'The type initializer for '' threw an exception'Running the script manually on the build OS after MDT has finished works perfectly. I have a restart before script is run to make sure no WU or anything is affecting it.

It used to be Teams that didn't honour the policy, but now it does. This is the only place now that seems to allow it. I'll see if opening a case with Microsoft has any luck.

Just an update. Autodesk have now confirmed the domains are required and updated the article with them: https://www.autodesk.com/support/technical/article/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/Fusion-360-cannot-access-the-services-through-proxy.html I've also asked them to look at ways of alerting admins like ourselves when new domains such as these become required. Of course if they'd updated the article before release we could have check that. They will look into this and hopefully in future, it won't be down to us to discovery what is and isn't required for them

Are any of you removing built in apps (Games, Xbox etc) during the build process in MDT? I've been trying to run a Powershell script for this in WinPE but I don't think PS is working in WinPE currently. When I started to look into that it started to look like a minefield of issues depending which version you go for. Hence this question on what other people are using.

For those of you with working Windows 11 MDT setups, can you confirm what version of things your running, plus any changes you made to MDT to allow it to build & deploy Windows 11? Having installed the latest version, it seems Autodesk now also require the following two domains or you'll get the web proxy authentication pop up. damassets.autodesk.net library.io I've opened a case with Autodesk to confirm these two domains are now required, and asked them to update the list of domains if so.

A1 + P1 + Office 365 Desktop Apps (free included by reseller) all via OVS. Looked at A3 but at the time it only added storage, bookings and teams live streaming. Another question is do you have it via OVS, EES or CSP. For us, CSP was a lot more expensive as licences are per person, not FTE. Including all catering, governors, trainee staff. Even visitors wanting to use Word or PowerPoint today. All needed a staff licence via CSP.

Hi All, Just updating this to say that it took weeks and weeks for Microsoft to accept this was a bug. They've then spent months sending me 'We're working on this' every two days, until today. When they've said 'We have higher priority things to work on, so this won't be getting fixed any time soon, so we're closing your ticket'. So for anyone else coming across this bug / thread in the future, this is why it's not fixed. I put a number of hours into proving this to Microsoft for 0 benefit to us, or anyone else it seems. I understand it's not a 'Mission Critical Bug', but surely someone at MS has some time to fix this? Anyway, thank you all for your help in testing this. Really useful! Cheers, Rob

Do you have three LEDs on the reader? Green, Orange and Red? If so, when you present a card that doesn't release the door, what do the LEDs show? Green flashing or Red flashing. Or do they say constant on as before.

Fusion 360 is free for schools. Cloud licensing and storage. Bit of a pain to install and update, but workable. Fusion wants a decent amount of RAM and a fast CPU. It's not very good at using multiple cores so look for higher clock over more cores. GPU is really only used for some rendering, any modern built in graphics would be fine.

They integrate for pupil & staff data, but can't integrate the 'Money' side of things. So can't pull down the dinner balances from Bromcom. Or at least that's what they told me. We would have to use there system for parents paying for dinner money, or it's a non-starter.

It does, but they don't support payments via the MIS system (Bromcom in our case). We don't want to go back to seperate systems for payments. Nor does it seem they want to support it in future which is a real shame. Otherwise yes it would appear to be a perfect fit. I understand it's just a frontend for SqaureSpace Till software. No point I reinventing the wheel.

Can I throw my vote in for a cashless catering system. Web based with link to MIS via Wonde or other cloud sync platform. KISS approach to start with, ID card support by typed number. Reporting on meals sold etc. Done [emoji106]

Yes a central system would be hard to retro fit unless in a bungalow. We went wall units that aren't to 'Commercial' looking. We could have had fancier looking units, different colours, fabric fronts etc. But choose to go for a cheaper option for now. As more people fit them at home prices for these will come down. What I always say to people is you don't complain about the far bigger white metal radiators on your walls, right where you want to put your sofa/cupboard. So why does a slight deeper but smaller unit unit on the wall high up matter. People accept radiators as that's the norm, but it doesn't have to be. Plus you get air con for summer! It can heat or cool the house in minutes rather than hours like an air to water system or you run it low and slow and it's just as efficient.

It does dry it, but we've not had to dehumidify yet. We have a whole house heat recovery system as well which removes moisture so you'd think the combination would cause it to be to dry, but not found it so far. We do dry cloths inside if weather isn't sunny outside, so that might just add enough. I wish more people would consider air to air. As a country we seem set on keeping radiators when most other countries in our climate have blown air systems.

Consider a Air to Air heat pump too. Or Aircon as a lot of people call it but it heats just as well as it cools. Cheaper to fit although you don't get grants for it. Cheap to run, pretty easy to install if you have outside walls to put it on. And in summer you can have air con too! Being a whole new system it also means you can fit it while still having the old system in place. As we've done. As we decorate rooms we'll take the rads out. PS as @jmak said above. A heat pump will save you more money compared to a boiler in a less insolated building. As heat loss is the same, so both have to replace the heat lost. Insolation will of course save you money, but the 'Heat pumps only work in modern well insolated homes' is a complete myth.
