  1. Hi Guys, We have bought 10 Hitachi starboards around 16 months ago and people were complaining that the pens were not of good quality as we have had 5 of the pens fail due to excess pressing on the nib (as the battery runs out the pen gets less responsive and hence more pressure is pressed on the pen) Do any of you suffer from the same issue, just trying to draw the line between a poorly manufactured pen/agressive missuse. I always ask Hitachi sellers when they contact our school and they have had no feed back regarding poor quality of pens and at around 90 quid a throw they don't come cheap! Cheers, AJT
  2. I agree that no company can claim to be 100% clean (that's why Mark Thomas is still in business lol), but someones idea of ethical may differ to the next persons. Some people may feel more strongly about a certain issue and dismiss another -and why did I just have to look up the word moot lmfao!
  3. Congrats!
  4. I loved Dominos, but the price was astronomical. I have a topps pizza right next door and we can get just as nice pizza for half the price. (american hot, pepperoni and green chilli). One thing about Dominos and I don't know that this is still the case, if you do a bit of research via clips of Mark Thomas comedy project, you might like to know where the company profits were going back then.....
  5. LOL! Town = 5 mins walk Hospital = 300 yards (which is the only place I would need to get to fast, but there is always an ambulance lol) Work = 750 yards (ish) Family = 420 miles away, but hey you have to make sacrafices. If heavens above, one of my parents carks it yep may take about 8 hours to get there, but lets face it when you've croaked theres nowt you can do about it....
  6. Never learned to drive, don't want to learn. I have always found it my responsibility to live within a walkable distance to any workplace. I cannot stand the "cars broken down" or the "bus was late" excuse, just boils my urine lol.
  7. Thanks will look at the two recommended applications. I think your right RE the server. I was looking at open workbench and really with it being installed on 10 workstations, maybe just a hidden folder share with watertight permissions on one of our active running servers may be enough.
  8. Good evening, Our senior team are looking for project collaberation software, something that can be hosted on a decommissioned server running win xp pro on our network as a cental repository. I don't really wish to burden our servers with something like sharepoint as they are all really pumped with SQL and the likes so looking to take as much pressure of our main servers. Would only be looking at around 10 users all sharing and updating files, with a nice easy to use GUI. Has anyone any suggestions and has anyone set up something similar at a low cost? Look forward to hearing from you. PS apologies if I have posted in the wrong place
  9. I was at the RM tech seminar the week before last and the 3G has been canned in this release as to keep pricing competitive. A solid piece of kit which has apparently recieved some interest in the far east. Thats not to say that the next release will have 3G included. I am trying to get our head interested in purchasing.
  10. Thanks can I ask if you did upgrade, did you get a major boost in the page processing? The reason is our art department had 5 imacs and 6 windows PC's. It takes the average time on a windows PC, but printing from the mac it takes around 4 mins for the print to come out (printer is installed on the network)
  11. Hi Norphy, probably a wee bit late, but we have had all the issues you mention on CC3 and had ran all the same tests. Hitachi whittled it down to a registry key being overwritten, but by the time it was found out we had upgraded to Hitachi starboard V9.x anyhow lol
  12. Could I please be cheeky and ask how much you where charged for the RAM, it seems that Kyocera use a rare brand and it seems top dollar everywhere! Cheers in advance
  13. I get from the 17th of Dec to the 3rd Jan off without taking it out of my entitlement - nice touch but having 19 years of my working life employed by companies who get busy before xmas and the pressure was on right until breakup, I am going to enjoy it!
  14. Lol - not as drastic as it sounds, my manager and her daughter who are are 2 fifths of our team are leaving the school to follow other persuits.

  19. Hi and welcome to the site Stevie, we are looking at the RM easybook at the moment I have seen the prototype at the last technical seminar and next Friday I will be looking at the finished article and we may will look to use them to replace all student laptops in future.
  20. I could be the shortest, less than 500 metres door to door. I can be in an emergency situ in less than 3 mins.
  21. Thanks for the kind offer POCO,but I gave in last night and used my last win xp pro OEM disc and licence on the lappy, thankfully one thing acer do is supply a decent driver download site lol. But in future, I will be making people aware of how bad a system they run and is a prime example of how outsourcing some sections of a service a company supplies can actually impede customer service, not improve
  22. Thanks for the response Poco, but the customer has already been charged the fee the cost isn't relevent as hands up did not create the recovery disks, but because the licence key is faded, it cannot be supplied hence why they are now saying they cannot send the discs and wish to send back a refund. I cannot believe they sit and customise each and every set of recovery disks to every individual key sticker and I believe if a customer has has ACER proven registration of the laptop purchased from new there is no reason why the discs cannot be sent to them without the licence key details, its just poo service really....
  23. All working fine here now
  24. your probably hacked off now....but still refused lol
