We migrated around 3 weeks ago - Jim C from Updata provided excellent customer service. The only thing that went wrong for us was that our SMTP feed from RM was not routed down updata's VPN tunnel. Our exchange server did not recieve any emails for 8 days as RM and SITSS battled to find which relay our mail was getting stuck at. Kev at SITSS worked like a trojan to help troubleshoot the issue and kept us updated at all times. As there was no fault, but a setting needed to be altered, RM warned us that this would be chargeable and they were unaware we had a secondary domain. (we have had this for 4 years and they were billing us annually for it!) Apart from that I'm getting around 93mbps up and down

Hi Synack, thats not really what I want it to do, I wish the DVI port to be the primary output port on the card. It just shows no signal even from boot. There is no way in the windows settings or forceware to change that I can see.

Hi guys, Just managed to get a new viglen omnino built onto our CC3 network (Nice piece of kit at a real reasonable price!). It contains a Nvidia 8400GS card to allow dual display. For love nor money can I get it to switch to the DVI port as primary, its set to VGA by deafult and I cannot find anywhere in forceware to change it. The only time I can get DVI to work is if I connect a projector or second screen to it and clone the primary display. The only downside is that if we stick with the primary display to VGA, the secondary requires an adapter which sticks out further than the side of the casing! Just a little grumble, but if anyone knows of a way to swapping the displays around theres virtual hob nobs for grabs and I might push to the chocolate ones!

Slipstreaming windows drivers to CC3 build area
andyturpie replied to andyturpie's topic in How do you do....it?
Hi Webman, I was trying to import via the build manager sorry if I didn't make that clear, ive looked at the temp folder and I have managed to locate various sets of LAN drivers. Audio asked for a location to be extracted to, so hopefully they should be a tad easier. Will keep you posted. -
Good morning people, I was wondering if any of you nice guys n gals know the process of how to extract drivers from an installer .exe (like intel) so I can then get the raw .inf files to add to the build manager on our cc3 network. PS this is a non RM machine btw I have managed to create a DOS disk which can get through the build process up until the domain join, but then seems to hit a system error 1231 in which I am going to presume (but please feel free to prove me wrong its transferring from NDIS to a Windows driver?) Please can you help! Cheers!

We have a managed system in place, I can recommend Kyocera printers, we have a fleet of 34 around our site, shrinking down to only 5 colour printers. The printers on the network are polled frequently and pending issues and toner levels are send back to the company which means we keep little stock of consumables. We reckon also we are looking to save 20% from our annual consumables spend. Willing to recommend this company to anyone around the London area (inbox me if interested)

Thanks for that, will give it a blast - cheers!

...but since our head has asked, here goes Is it possible for a word doc attachment to be opened and automatically be inserted with a footer with the filename and file path? I know you can do it when creating new docs, but my head would like to do it with recieved docs as well with a minimum of fuss. Any ideas people? Cheers in advance.

One that springs to mind, years back when I worked for royal mail, I was delivering a powerpoint presentation to staff and managers on an ancient meaty proxima projector. I had finished the presenation for the day when I went to the back of the projector and flicked the power rocker switch. As I had done that, the whole sorting office was plunged into darkness. After a pregnant pause, i uttered the words "Oh Sh!t" as all the sorting machines ground to a halt and everyone was evacuated. The guilt finally lifted when after investigation, that across the road, where a hotel was being built, a JCB digger had gone through our mains cables at exactly the same time as me switching off the projector.

Interesting point, I take it that they were all banned at the same time and strangely, the veil is the only one to get media attention. Most faiths will just "get on with it" and accept. A few will still play the victim card -cue the flag burning and the embassy attacks.

I can't remember the burning of the St George's cross in protest to that decision.

Don't think this issue is as big as it is being made to be, us jocks have had to forfeit the skein dhu as part of the highland dress due to the offensive weapons act. I cannot for the life of me remember an outcry.

Eureka moment, in the excitement of getting it out the box, I've overlooked that its more than likely the BIOS settings for the SATA channels need setting to IDE emulation for xp to install lol.

Hi guys, Got a trial omnino 4 from viglen, that crashes overtime at the RM workstation splash screen. I've copied the build drivers across to each of the build servers, but is that good enough? Do they need to appear in a certain folder, as there is one called RMDRV, but I've left them outside in a folder viglen, but within the xpbuild area. Anyone assist me please? Cheers as always guys n gals.

I take it you deploy windows via PXE boot or RM CC3/CC4 onto your network, I'm wondering if the NIC driver is being updated via windows update after the initial build and knocking the NIC out a little later?

Were looking to kit our school out in Viglen hardware from now on, its around 250 quid a workstation cheaper than its main two lettered competitor.

Tried that yesterday over our cc3 network, with a wallpaper containing a windows error message. Couldn't get it to deploy for some reason lol.
