One word of warning you risk profile corruption by logging into vannilla to CC3 and vice versa, why, I do not know..... but that's what happens to us. Our CC3 users all have RM easymail so its just web access to the mail. Our vanilla admin users have exchange so its almost automated...Hope someone can help further.

Thanks for reminding me X-13, and your correct CC3 lacks the granular control is more an all or nothing option from what I can see. Alternatively you could create it as a virtual app to run of a USB using Cameyo?

Hi there if you log into CC3 with your systemadmin account. In the left hand pane expand configuration settings and open software configuration settings and within there set a file rule for the said .exe file. - sorted.

cheers guys, the machines are around 4 months old but the mobo is the 1st gen of core iX. We had to use this board as every 2nd gen mobo had build issues on our current CC3 network. I have faith in the company replacing under warranty, but its just strange these symptoms have cropped up site wide at the same time!

Afternoon peeps, All our workstations are kitted out with Intel DQ57TM mainboards and we have come across quite a few issues. Since returning to school after xmas, we have had 6 boards die, numerous workstations needing an ATX static reset and around 20 reports of workstations CPU fans going beserk even when machine is idle. Tried flashing BIOS to latest release, but that doesn't resolve the CPU fan issue and even when workstations are idle then they seem to max out their RPM's, plus when they are maxed out, I cannot even get Intel Desktop utilities to report back settings! Anyone else had these issues? Cheers

I merely jested lol - however its refreshing to hear that bands are doing it for themselves and not allowing on the megabucks of Cowell et al to control their lives!

241 Omnino 4s here, kids teachers love them!
-
lol - never heard of them, but have always favoured engineered pap over live bands, mind you only engineered pap from the likes of Kraftwerk, Yellow Magic Orchestra and Jean Michele Jarre through in all genres of electronica upto 1992. But they two band members are easy on the eye (twirls moustache!)

Thanks for that BTW does your username mean you follow Heart of Midlothian football club?

As far as im aware a post commissioned machine on CC3 will have none of it when trying to change the name of the workstation. To the point of always having to rebuild it from scratch.

Arthur are you sure, our LEA 3rd line usually have done it in the past (on older servers), but I can never recall seeing multiple drive segments lol - panic over I take it....

Hi Guys, I've tried (for first time) to extend our dynamic disk structure to allow more space in the teachers personal areas. However..... In the top list within disk management, I have now increased the size, but in the disk layout I seem to have 3 H: drives and cannot get them to look "merged" into one block. Can someone tell me what I have done wrong or do I need to restart the server for the change to take place? Thanks !

Cheers guys, in the end we have opted for buying a dymo label printer and low adhesion labels. At the end of the day if anyone were to steal our Viglen Omninos, they will be in for a shock as we have changed the BIOS splash screen to show the school name and crest - Joe public wont have a clue. PS our leasing is through syscap, who are used by a lot of schools and FE and its a zero percent operating lease over 3 years with the option to lease year 4 and 5 at between 10 to 15 percent of the original fee. They are in joint partnership with a lot of IT suppliers.

USB etc Cables - what function does the 'lump' perform.
andyturpie replied to speckytecky's topic in General Chat
It contains precious metal, which justifies the £14.99 price tag from some retailers ;-) -
Looking at some of the latter posts, could we please add some emoticons after the posts as I can't decide wether i'm in the middle of a genuine flame war or sarcastic posts... lol RM love em or loathe them, its always emotive

Hi Tony, As we outsource our girls gym to the local community, we have a pebble to create their name badges - as far as im aware its ran for quite a few years, however as a non gym member, I don't know the quality output but I would presume it would be good enough for the task you require!

Never a fan of the C64 as a machine, but the in the day the SID chip was amazing - Hubbard, Whittaker, Leach et al, really pushed the boundaries of electronic music back then. 3 channels only!

Im in next week for a few days as we hire out our classrooms to Justin Craig education, but this is probably my last sign in before Christmas. Hi there, Just wondering if there is a freeware USB or CD boot tool that can wipe the encryption bootloader from a hard drive (presumably hidden on track 0/MBR). DBAN works buit however, it takes hours as the whole drive needs treated, I am in the process of handing out new laptops to teachers buit quickly want to bare image the old ones and re sell. As the data is encrypted there is no need to bleach the drive, but I need to only remove the nagging boot password option if possible! Any ideas?
