Morning my good people, We have decided to migrate from easymail to live@edu and would like to hear of your migration experiences. We also have for the last 6 years ran an exchange server (hosting a max of 20 accounts) which we want to put out to grass and force everyone to use a proper school email address with a one person one address policy. Has everyone who has performed this type of migration, managed to get everything migrated ie exchange shared calendars, distribution groups etc and what barriers did you come up against. Thanks in advance for sharing your experiences! Andy T

we are usning core i3 and i7 processors on a DQ57TM board throught the school.

@Lora are you running an RM CC3 network, we are having similar issues with new RM 310 laptops. Seems like the driver stalls on loading from time to time.

All our workstations now have V-pro technology and I remember seeing a demo on it where we could use it to perform remote tasks etc. Does anyone use this and what software from intel do you use as looking at IT Director it seems its not around anymore? Cheers AJT

Ok my final post on this and was my facebook status a few months ago :"My own opinion is Apple provide slightly average spec'ed kit at less than great value for money. Kit can be found to do identical jobs at a fraction of the price. Hi Matt, apart from updating the LAN drivers we have never really solved the issue completely. You can minimize the issue by controlling the number of users which try to log in at once. I try and recommend 8 at a time. But every so often the techs need to go back down and reconnect them.

We have the same on our CC3 network, it seems that the network driver doesn't initialise properly before the log in and that we need to log into the laptops with a local admin account and reconnect to the SSID /WPA key.

It seems then, that as the majority of people have all this disposable income to buy these devices, that the world economic model is about to disappear up its own sphincter is just a myth?

My how times of changed, in the mid eighties I used to deck myself out in expensive designer labels to express myself as an individual, to stand out from the crowd. It seems it has reversed and people want to throw money away just to fit IN with the crowd. Also why are gadgets such an emotive subject, its a bit sad that we don't have these arguements over microwaves, fridges and washing machines as well.

I am not a fan of apple, they have convinced the human race that choice is evil. I don't get the "It just works" arguement as I have seen many non working examples, plus the fanboy "I never get a virus on my mac" boils my kidneys, they won't be saying that when they have 85% OS market share i tell thee! PS never had a virus on my PC for 9 years.......

I would remove the header pins in case the power button is sticking. Short the two pin + and - for PWR with a screw driver or a key.

My newly purchased work from home PC core i7 870, 16GB ddr3, 2x 2TB SATA Drives with Win 7 Ultimate. Got a nice coolermaster case to bung that lot in as well.

Issue solved - by taking a lunchbreak, coming back, running DaveP's link for microsoft to say there was no issue found, but then the folders seemed to appear. It's a weird, crazy world we live in... Cheers fellas!

Hi Guys, Just found an issue as to where anytime I stick a CD rom in my optical drive it detects the media, but shows no files. The CDs are all original disks so no disks need finalising, plus I have checked the registery in the class > current control set and everything looks as where it should be. The disk runs fine on all other workstations. Having just rebuilt this machine is there anything else (registery or otherwise), that could help it see the files on it? Cheers!
