  1. I have the driver from the disk which I had uploaded to the RM build area (CC3 network), apart from this little niggle affecting a couple of machines the rest seem stable enough though. I may look to download a later version, but I think it maybe due to the teachers shutting down pc's with either the projector and visualiser still on causing confusion. I have looked at giving teachers access to the graphics tray to re- clone displays again, but with file rules on CC3 I cannot set it to be allowed with teachers and disallowed by pupils.
  2. Cheers guys, its an Intel DQ57TM board with the GPU built into the core i3 - found the power settings and will give that a try. Strange thing is the monitor is on the primary video and its that device which gets confuddled when after the visualiser gets switched off lol.
  3. We had profile issues, we found it was because a lot of teachers were well above their disk quota limit....worth checking out
  4. Morning lovely people, We have new PC's with intel integrated graphics and we have issues with a couple forgetting that the displays are cloned to the IWB. One which is causing us a problem has a visualiser attached with a pass through to the projector. Each time the visualiser is used and switched off, the main screen seems to switch off with "no signal detected". We have tried switching primary and secondary displays, but still no luck GRRR! Has anyone else come up with a solution? Thanks!
  5. Failing that recovery disks should be available from Stone at a cost!
  6. Hi I have no experience with stone machines, but I have only come across 3 makes of PC sold which had a onboard recovery for an XP OS (HP,Packard Bell and Advent). Every other models came with recovery disks/restore disks, but that all changed when Vista reared its ugly head. If they originally came with Win7, then the recovery section of the HDD more than likely got wiped out with the XP install. If a recovery still exists, then try making that partition active and reboot with your fingers crossed and lucky underwear on, but that would take you back to Win 7
  7. Thanks Darren, much apriciatred. Will being trying to package this up in the next week or so.
  8. Hi, Just currently downloaded the new activ inspire software after registering from our old activ studio licence key. Do you know if this software can be made into an RM CC3 Package for deployment across our network?
  9. XP has a knack of bluescreening with any unsuitable chipset drivers installed. I would recommend using acronis true image universal restore function, where it will strip the drivers out of the disk image as it flies to the target drive.
  10. Viglen, we have just replaced all our RM machines with their omnino 4s and the staff and pupils are over the moon with them. We did go through a sort of tender with a few other companies mentioned in this thread and Viglen were so aggressively priced, no one could compete with the cost on a like for like basis.
  11. PS it is Exchange 2003 we are still running.
  12. Guys - thanks for you invaluable help, will check out this afternoon - looks like it was the send permissions. I had it done to my account when I started here, my profile had got corrupt and had a new one created. As my old and new were a memeber of the same group (admin accounts), I had already been set "send as" permissions by default. We will attempt to test later and let you know. Thanks again!
  13. Afternoon peeps, Is there away to change the exchange mailbox completely from the one which is synched and created with a log in? We have a user (mihu) which was a CC3 log in. The machine has gone belly up and we have had to build a vanilla machine due to install issues of adobe CS5.5 and had to issue a vanilla log in (micheleh). What we are trying to do (quite unsuccessfully) is to get the user to log on as micheleh and outlook to pick up mihu mailbox to send and receive. We've looked at mailbox permissions etc, but cannot get it to work. Please guys and gals point us in the right direction - we never really look at the exchange server

    Novatech?

PS I still have a Novatech all in one test unit here had issues building onto a CC3 network- from my findings over the last 6 months of testing Viglen had the edge.

    Novatech?

Just taken owner ship of 241 Viglen Omnino4 workstations, the staff and pupils love them. Also for 30 quid extra per workstation will give you 3 years next day call out warranty.
  16. We are in the progress of refreshing our workstations which means we have in the region of 200+ RM one PC's (mixture of V1 and V2). All have had regular hardware diagnostics and have passed RAM and HDD tests. Some from the our ICT suites will have broken front USB's but would make ideal "spares and repairs" PC's. Or if you can source the USB front panels then your in business Its going to take a few weeks to sort the wheat from the chaff and get the serials and asset numbers etc and all we would request would be a realistic donation to our school charity "Women of Vision". If any school is interested, then please register your interest via private message.
  17. What hacks me off is that why the government are hell bent on protecting musicians, software developers and film distributors - but have let coal mining, metal workers, ship builders and car manufacturers go to the wall. Why can't they understand that most of these goods are grossly overpriced (just like the services I had quoted) and people in their millions, wether rightly or wrongly are looking to other methods to obtain these goods cheaper or for free (cough).
  18. UPDATE: I think this could be a DNS resolve issue with QNAP finder as if I put the IP address in the broswer, the admin page opens up so no worries now - cheers
  19. Hi Guys, this one seems to be peckng my head lol. My PC has two IP addresses one that was originally set by DHCP (now in the exceptions list 172.16.x.x), plus also a fixed IP in the 192.168.x.x range (both IPs are set on the same subnet mask). I have a QNAP NAS box which has two lan ports which one I configured to a 172.16.x.x and also a 192.168.x.x address. I can see the drive by \\image and the created folder shares appear no problems, but using the QNAP finder, it scans and finds the box, but when you try to connect which fires up the admin page, an error appears teliing me the server (NAS box and PC) are not on the same subnet.... Bizzare happenings..... Can anybody please kindly throw some suggestions at me (the harder the better lol) AJT
  20. Ahh now I didn't see the LC17 on my travels - that looks like the very fellow for me
  21. Your right - it is a big ask with the abount of bays - might be pretty obscure or non exisitant. I have had a look at Lian Li and Silverstone etc and althought they do very nice HTPC cases they still don't manage to fulfill my disk bay criteria, if I have exhausted all channels of search, I may go down the route of 2 bays, but I fancy 4 drives on 2 different raid arrays ( only just because I can lol).
  22. Hi Jamesfed, not really a gamer although the kit is of high spec, just to say I am wanting to move away from the tower case (I have an Antec NSK1600b) , to one which will sit on my desk and I can plonk my TFT on the top of it.
  23. Hi Guys, Looking for recomendations for a decent black desktop case for my new kit at home. Would love 2x external 5 1/4"s and 4x HDD bays and full ATX compatablity. I am not looking at HTPC, but just something pleasing on the eye, but at a reasonable cost. Look forward to hearing from you!
  24. I had the pleasure of trying to set up Netsweeper on our CC3 network and have ran into so many issues, I have removed the scripts now for logon/log off and my poor techinician still gets the local netsweeper "blocked page" between 10 am and 2 pm every day. I have had this same "caching" of pages problems with fortinet - strugging to find what is causing it!
  25. best bet would have to installed it prior to joining the domain. Not something I have come across. I take it the N: reference that you are an RM CC3/CC4 network? There has to be something in the main .msi which keeps referring to C:\windows\user\docs and the pc is now set to N:\ blah etc (could be the templates, local settings etc). I know that RM charge you for a CC3/CC4 ready package (£200 I was told.) and that the package creation tools they sell to create your own packages do not cut the mustard
