  2. Ahh found the download, getting it now
  3. Just purchased the curriculum pack, but haven't recieved it yet
  4. Do not give teachers permission to plug and uplug equipment. The amount of damage to I/O boxes on walls, VGA cables and even ports on PC can be a right PITA!
  5. Unfortunately,we still have give out laptops to all our teachers and have a workstation in each class and yes the teachers still demand one. I can kind of the reasoning behind our SMT's reasoning, is that the school would be held accountable for any data breach, and providing them with an laptop with a fully encrypted drive with VPN access from it, is far cheaper than any legal fallout if a breach were to happen. The risk of them working at home on an unsecured PC could be catastrophic!
  6. Sorry we have 4 DC's at the moment (CC3 Network) but I hear thats going to change in CC4 which will be 2 DC's and 2 member servers and it is a gig fibre link between here and the classrooms
  7. Could it be that your AV is running a memory scan before connecting?
  8. They'll be barking up the wrong tree using my prints as the murder suspect!
  9. +1 for AngryTechnicans response. When we had RM ones that seemed to work for us.
  10. We have two class rooms served with 32 thin clients each and to be honest they have been nothing but trouble since day dot. We have 4 terminal servers which they connect to. My question is, if we were to sack the thin clients and replaced them with mini workstations, would it mean we would need an extra DC to cope with another 64 physical workstations on our network. These classrooms are not based in the main site, but is around 600 metres away (fibre length) from the server room. It is a fast fibre connection with trunked connection pairs if that helps? Thanks in advance.
  11. Started off with the unexpanded zx81 then with the 16k Rampack. The 48k Spectrum was the next logical progression.
  12. PS A lot of Kyocera printers are rebadged Ricohs.
  13. We have a managed Kyocera fleet of 38 printers and MFPs and had no issues. 3920DN Monos 5200DN Colour 1128mfp Mono all in one 1022mfp colour all in one Running for over two years, no major issues and only around 3 call outs for paper jams.

  15. Hi there, I am putting a new workstation in to our Heads PA's office which will take her from office 2007 to 2010. She has created a heck of a lot of templates (which we have backed up), but was wondering were the building blocks and autotext files are stored and where they need to be placed in office 2010. There is a lot of advice on the web, but quite a lot of conflicting information. Can anyone help?
  16. On the plus side, now everyone can be Michael Fish...
  17. Facebook it saves us now ringing up 500 people to let them know exactly what we are having for dinner!
  18. Just wondering if anyone has successfully created a teamviewer package which can be pushed out on a CC3/CC4 network. Reason I ask is that quite a lot of our teachers work part time and we find this program would be quite useful for remote support. If it can be done, we may look to purchase the licence. Cheers
  19. Yep I had issues connecting 2007 to live@edu - 2010 and it connects to live@edu just like an exchange server
  20. For me its the creative zen x-fi. I have the 1st version wifi with 32gb of storage (plus a 32gb SD Card). I always go on the arguement that creative, from the Live! soundcards have always impressed me and will never own an apple audio device until they can themselves release an audio card which trumps.
  21. Dave, what I do is get my techs to go around last thing, check PC, IWB and sound in each class. We got them a standalone mono inkjet which is installed on an old laptop, which we set up in our staff room. I reset their profile and password and after that we only go in first thing to sort out screen cloning and leave approx 20 mins each day. Suppose were are lucky as myself and my full time tech live within a 3 to 4 min walk from the school.
  22. would be common courtesy to give you a bit of notice, what would happen if you couldn't attend?
  23. Hit the old record shops and go digging for old house, electro and techno vinyl from mid eighties to early nineties. Some of the best tracks came from Chicago and Detroit from that era. Memories of youth.
  24. We aren't going to CC4 until summer so thinking along CC3, but is the approved RM package or a homegrown one as creating your own requires a heck of a lot of modifying of the .msi files. Also check that "Main Site" area doesn't contain office 2003 as where ever you build the PC (unless you tell the specific folder not to inhert packages), then it WILL install both versions.
