Cheers for the feedback guys - the majority of the established teachers here do not embrace the full functionality of an IWB. For the them its just to show a presentation or film clip on and if at the end of the day, the girls are getting outstanding exam results upon leaving, i'm not going to argue. Moving to interactive projectors will save around IRO £800 in kitting out a room and the savings can be passed onto updating the other classrooms in waiting. Our timetable here is very dynamic which means at sometime within a week someone will make use of its interactive services Will definately be interested to hear feedback on the SMART boards, Achandler!

Ah these pens are the bane of my life. We initially purchased 10 duo FX boards around 3 years ago, 8 of the pens have been damaged through dropping on the floor and damaging the battery lid, or the digitiser getting damaged when teachers were pressing too hard to compensate for poor battery life. Our next shipment of boards arrived without pens, so we have just had to shell out nearly £1800 for the extra pens... and i'm guessing that the interactive projectors won't have a "finger mode"?

Morning, When refitting classrooms,we usually have a standard of using a Hitachi Trio FX Interactive boards with a short throw Hitachi projector. I have noticed now that Hitachi are starting to push out interactive projectors which negates the need for the board. Just wondering if anyone else has trialled interactive projectors (any brand) and if they are of any cop and what issues they faced when using them? Would love feedback as I am looking to either make a purchase within the next few days! Thanks guys and gals!

Afternoon guys and gals, Within WinDirStat, I want to start creating rules to bulk remove music and video from our servers to another drive (off the network) to ensure compliance with copyright law etc. I must admit I am hopeless at scripts etc, could someone give me a few examples of how the scripts should be written so I could get a bit of understanding behind it all? Hi Plexer, our LA are our support and it maybe that there needs to be a bit of powershell scripting to give me send as permissions on the admin account as this is totaly different to full mailbox permissions. In the process of looking into it, but will keep updated!

Afternoon, We have currently set up our live@edu email admin account which catches banned words and phrases. I myself access my edu account through Outlook 2010 and I have full mailbox rights to the email admin account, so that mailbox appears below my personal mailboxes. The captured emails hit the inbox and I can open each mail to accept or reject delivery of it, but when I click either, I get a bounce back message telling me I don't have the permissions to perform that action (with full mailbox rights!). The message I am vetting then just disappears into thin air, no trace whatsoever! not in junk,sent or outbox of any account! But when I log into the web account it behaves properly. I am stumped on this one guys and gals and any pointers would be great Cheers!

Agreed about the latops for teachers, in this day and age there is no need (when our lease runs out it will be highly unlikely our teachers will get them replaced) A workstation connected to each classroom IWB would suffice, plus if you have an IT suite, out of hours the staff could make use of it and VPN so teachers can remote in from home. Hi guys, Is it possible to remote into a PC via RDC to change a screen res or clone a display? Not something I have though about until now. Tried on a few PC's one with Intel integrated graphics and another with an nVidia card, cannot seem to adjust? Is there any way around this, to save me a trek around the school? Cheers!

We installed new Hitachi projectors a couple of weeks ago and I am monitoring their usage over the network. One or two however the lamp life seems to have ramped ahead >100 hours compared to 30 ish. I am wondering if theres a chance something on the network which is somehow sending a magic packet and waking them up? We are on a cc3 network and the IP addresses are given by DHCP and are in the same range as the workstations, could there be an instance where there has been an address release that a projector has picked up and the RMMC is starting it up with the restart command???? Bizzare lol!
