We paid £223 for 1gb ram. we havent had it delivored yet as it is a long lead time. I did see some places offering imatation RAM for this printer for about £70. But didnt fancy forking out for machine specific RAM and getting something which may not work.

We have just ordered a 1gb memory module for a Kyocera FS-5300dn printer. And for life of me cat find out how you get to the memory slot in the printer. I can see where it is located (at the back under the location for the hard drive). So before I start dismantling the printer piece by piece, has anyone on here actually fitted this item and if so how?!

we have just bought a batch of the HP cq10-101sa for use in classrooms. Have installed windows xp pro. But have run into a issue with the wireless. I have the latest drivers on for xp. But when i try and join to a network (Netgear wg103) it will authenticate (I have tried WPA-PSK, WPA2-PSK and shared key) it recognises the password. but will not get an IP address (Ihave tried a static address but it will not allow network access). But when i set the access point to open with no password it will work. I have spoken to netgear and they say it is a driver issue on the netbook. Spoken to HP (argued) and they say there could be a problem and wanted files sent to them (had to do it from a xp home machine which gives the same problem as they will not support xp pro) I am at a dead end and open to suggestions. The wireless card in them is a Athereos AR 9285

Solved. Left the drivers the windows install picked up which was realtek ac97. Then changed the jack from the green audio out and plugged into the blue socket on the back and it works!!

I am just rolling out windows 7 this easter and have run into a audio problem with a batch of motherboards with a Winfast (Foxconn) 760gxk8mc. The device manager says that all is installed correctly for these cards. but you still get no sound. I have been to the winfast website and they have no drivers higher then windows xp. go to the soundmax site and there support pages are under construction. Have you any suggestions?

Try not entering the serial number. If i remember rightly you can run the program so many times with out the serial no. But it has been a long time since installed ap2

One of the primaries i cove is going to windows 7. I am going to Windows Server 2008 R2 with Windows 7 Enterprise at easter. The staff know and have had access to a couple of test machines since September. Had a couple of worried looks, but they will have to get used to it and have had plenty of time to look at the software during ppa time etc.

I have used both Bloxx and Smoothwall School Guardian. I have more hands on experience of the Smoothwall over the Bloxx. Both have there own advantages, but from what i have seen you are probably better looking at Smoothwall as there licensing costs are more competitive for schools

Just ordered Nod32 on a 3 year licence with the exchange plugin from Yellowbus and got a very competative price.

I have life channel at one of my schools. the biggest waste of money the head has spent. we have 3 tv's and in the 7 months they have been in have been switched on the grand total of once! And that was when the life channel was testing them!

Try updating the bios. When i installed Windows 7 Pro it would not recognise the disk. As soon as i upgraded the bios the disk was recognised and worked. This was on a mobo only 12 months old and not cheap model of board

Got you. Is this the same for server 2008 you cant carry over user data on roaming profiles on xp clients?

I have just bought 2 new laptops to go on my domain. And have decided instead of downgrading to Windows XP Pro, to leave them on Windows Vista Business but our servers are still on WIndows server 2003 R2. Set them all up and confied them to the domain no problem, but i was logged on as the network admin at the time. went to give the first out to the teacher, they log on and there user data is not dragged in, but it has applied all of the group policy. My set up for staff is that they have roaming profiles which coppies all there data to the laptop at each login. I have checked in the users folder on tthe local pc and nothing has been created in there for the user which has tried to login. I know it is possible to have vista on a 2003 domain. but cant understand why the user data isnt getting carried over during the login process.
